Just an observation, you and your wife are absolutely so dang cute together. Been lurking since the beginning .... watched the journey from the angry man to the extremely cool, mellow man before me. I connected to the anger when I was diagnosed (not with cancer, but Grave's disease, and quite a few other chronic illnesses) ..I had my thyroid out Oct. 2018. Your journey helped me sort it all out. Thanks for sharing.

Check your neck is absolutely right Joe! I didn’t have thyroid cancer but I had esophageal cancer stage 4, I was always told it could be this or that, put off for so long. Finally it got to the point of almost no return. They seen it in an emergency ward at the hospital. I was very sick, couldn’t eat, hardly drink and hurting. By then it was a stage 4 cancer, let’s just say for years I went through hell. So yes everyone if anything on you feels different then have it checked out!hugs and prayers to you and family, kitty too. 😊🤗🤗🤗🤗🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼😻

You are a true warrior, man! Can't imagine the mental power and the amount of time it requires to handle all this the way you do.
    So much respect!

Thanks for the update. It really struck me hard when you talked about the innocence. I am now just starting year two of living with Stage IV Papillary Cancer. I can't believe what I have experienced so far and how much I have learned.
I will say that Thyroid Cancer is shit, but I keep on trucking. I have learned loads from you and sadly have followed in your path on many things, but seeing your fight has been very motivating. Best to you and of course, #Checkyourneck. Thanks for all you do Joe.

There was no word at the end so I'll call it #checkyourneck.
I've had thyroid surgery twice and have lost some feeling under my chin. Small price to pay compared to your journey. Stay strong.

Those videos will help so many going through anger after being diagnosed. All those little details that you think are insignificant will mean the world and will make all the difference to someone you've never met. They will be so grateful!!! Remember that, my brother.... Thank You!!!

Thanks for another piece of your journey’s puzzle.. It really is amazing how far you’ve come and how you have matured..
It’s noteworthy that our former press secretary, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, just underwent surgery for thyroid cancer. I thought of you as soon as I heard the news last night. I hope she watches your videos, they should be very helpful. I’ll post a link on her social media and hope she gets it.. ♥️
Lotsa luv for ya, Joe. You’re a power house to say the least.. 👍👊💪🏽

Joe's gone now, but I can't help thinking something is wrong with this universe. The uuniverse has no agency, but what business does it have putting a guy through this? His struggle is over and his pain is gone. He lives on, albeit digitally, providing encouragement and guidance to those currently fighting and those who will be fighting this disease in the future.

That long stitch is crazy ! Neat job they did though... aussie hospitals always release you with the sticky things on... I've been under about 10 times always find them.

I’d be grateful for the district nurses to come and see you . Some don’t even get that. Why are you moaning about it and saying don’t touch my cat . You seem very ungrateful and very prideful. You’re pride is overflowing. Do you think that you’re better than most people. You seem the type that will only listen to himself and not take on board. The way you said that you don’t want anyone to pray for you. You said no just stop. People will prey for you no matter what. You have to wake up and pray to god that you’ll get through this even if you don’t believe. You’re not above anyone joe . I hope you get better I really do. Open your closed heart

Hi Adrian, I never said I was ungrateful, I felt it could have been a better use of resources as I was more than happy to walk to my GP to have the stitch out like I did after my first surgery. The mention of my cat was a joke, nuance seems wasted on you.
I'm not above anyone, I have never thought I was, but to think that you can make wish and get through this would be peak arrogance. I'm confident because I deal with facts and trust the combined knowledge of my oncology and surgical teams with decades of experience behind them so I would listen to them for advice but those wishing prayers in a comments section don't offer me comfort, that's all that matters really. There are no treatments, trials or tricks that will get me out of my situation at present. I won't be praying as it's just doing nothing with extra steps and prayer without belief would be hypocrisy for no reason. I dont think so.

@@JoePlater so do you not understand what Faith is ?

    • @JoePlater
      @JoePlater  2 роки тому

@@mtashunkab715 I know what faith is, I just don't put it in to stories and fairy tales designed to control the masses. I put my faith, for lack of a word the religious would understand, in to science and medical professionals. Why is it so hard for the religious to juat respect the beliefs (or lack of) antithiests. We just want you to leave us out of it.
