Hi Ben, We are from Los Angeles and will be coming to San Miguel in September after doing our temp residency process in Mexico City. Look forward to seeing the city and seeing all the city has to offer in the way of rental housing, the people we know we will love the weather! Love SMA has the people to help others get those tasks done. We plan to move early next year, very excited!
I would be delighted to have yall to dinner and introduce you to some locals and if you have interest in dances, tennis etc you can be a guest to those groups easily. Glad you are coming!!
Ben; have you begun to see any negative effects on demand from expats due to the declining real estate and stock market in the US and Canada? Also, have expats needed to sell their 2nd homes in SMA to generate cash?
No we have not seen any reduction in demand. There is a tremendous interest in moving here right now. Whether that will result in actual moves we shall have to see. Many Americans are concerned about inflation, crime, and present and future taxes. Most American buyers pay cash, get a home equity loan or sell their primary residence. There is much interest among agents, on the internet etc. We will have to see if that results in more people moving here. The market is very active but prices have not risen very much and there is new construction so the market is balanced and able to handle more residents.
Hi Ben! I’m from Baton Rouge, LA and really tired of the heat! I’m targeting retirement in January 2023, so want to visit SMA soon. Also, like idea of PV, but know it’s hot there also! Maybe PV in winter and SMA in summer. I just saw La Begona lake area on map- is there a strong expat community? Very interested in checking that out!
