Newsom is one smooth talker. If I didn’t live in California and see all the problems firsthand, I’d probably believe him.
He is and has always been a criminal: remember when he was the Mayor of SF? During his reign of terror, he was cheating with his campaign managers (his best friend) wife and she finally came clean, not Newsome. I realized that he was just a bold faced liar. He also was literally begged by the 9ers for a new stadium, he said it won't happen and they moved to Santa Clara. He is a wothless Marxist criminal. The state is being destroyed from power supply to a liberal non-police agenda that includes filling the state with illegals, now attempting to give illegals ID's and the RIGHT TO VOTE!!

Funny thing is he's been Governor for a long time not including Lt. Governor but didn't do anything while taxes keep raising, homeless keep raising, more folks can't afford home, people leaving the state are now in thousands, many are farmers are leaving because he refuse to help with drought, ignoring wildfires.

I agree,,,they just pass our government here in California around to Democrat party members, who step up to White House government. Started pretty much with Pat Brown who basically WAS THE DEMOCRAT PARTY BOSS of California. Then eventually passed around to his son Jerry Brown, twice. As long as people are happy they don’t seem to care how much is skimmed off the state. But this is different, Governor Newsom is using California as a stepping stone to the White House, and he has name ID, but apparently many don’t care that he’s killed the state, Californians just decided to continue with him. As long as he hands out money, all is good! I heard that Newsom’s train is still handing out money to keep staff, until he can start the TRAIN PROJECT again. Can anyone say if that’s still true, money going out every month on the contracts he and his party signed?
Weird, here in Texas, we dont get told to limit our power or have rolling blackouts, we don't worry about when the power might go out without notice, and our gas is like half the price of California's....these people just allow him to spew lie after lie and nod in approval while the audience claps and barks like trained seals.

Newsom didn’t start from nothing. Let’s not forget both his parents were lawyers. His dad worked as legal adviser to the Italian division of Getty Oil and then as a tax attorney for the Getty family. Newsom helped to deliver the ransom money for the release of John Paul Getty III. His dad made around $40m a year. Sooooooo… haha?

At work you are incentivize by bonus etc. anyone who receives government assistance should be drug free period I was raised on food stamps I’ve also seen family members live off of government assistance don’t get married have 9 kids a “single mother” with 9 kids gets thousands in food stamps I know some people sell their food stamps 1 for 2

Good point @jackfelts certainly not the most important tax which is obviously INCOME TAX. If the philosophy of his Administration is truly Corporate Socialist, they should try flowing monies to Social Programs DIRECTLY into the hands of people that need those monies instead of payrolls of the people that lead these social programs. The current "business model" just doesn't work anywhere to the degree it should based on the massive amounts of Tax Revenues received by the California Treasury.
CA highways and bridges are in relatively good shape (no snow) where did all that Revenue go? Cut the fricken red tape!

I always wonder why California as the richest economy in the US and the 5th biggest in the world doesn't get their homelesness crisis under control?
Feels like this has developed over the last 10 years and gets worse and worse.
It's the result of policies or lack thereof over the last 40+ years. Now it's come to roost in a big way more recently. Issues like these don't happen in just 10 years.

The state has amassed over a trillion in debt and the cost of living is increasing every year. Texas, on the other hand, has the least amount of debt and their economy is trending upwards like Florida.

Years ago - Junior High Science Teacher had students watch 3 day Documentary of Scientist throughout the world opening our minds and predicting exactly what will happen if we ignore Climate Change (black and white - no background noise - just intelligent people warning us) - Death and poverty to women and children primarily and destruction to homes/displacement- human life, plants, animals creating move poverty and hopelessness - Economic disaster. And, Homelessness goes to years of poor policies, and American wages have not kept up with Cost of Living. Top Companies disgracefully greedy - working the lower level in employees to the point of exhaustion with little to no safeguards.

Gavin Newsom got grilled by the host and the co-host. He deserved it in my opinion, he is one of those politicians who will just do enough to have talking (or bragging) points, and nothing more than that. A little bit of exaggeration but - if he could get away without doing anything, he would choose that route, seems that kind of person to me. On the affordable housing issue, he mentions what he has done with Santa Monica and San Francisco, but as civilians while we care about transparency in the administrative system, we really care more about the results! So, when can we expect to see the results, i.e. available affordable housing for the working class?, is the question he should have addressed and not just offer a sneak peak into his operations. Moreover, Santa Monica and San Fran are not the only cities in the entire state of California that have housing issue, there are tons more. a) When can we expect to see available affordable housing there? and b) What are your plans there? On the homeless issue, even after listening to him for good 40 minutes, I still have no clarity as to what his plans are. Does he have any plans really?
On the climate front, I am not a very aware person in terms of what California's plans are but I do know that California passed a bill that will enforce all the cars sold in the state starting year 2035 will have to be EV only, and that's a great move!
Regarding Covid, he did very well. The stats he provided says that even after having relatively higher population as compared to states like Florida, etc., California had much fewer cases than those states. Great job!
He does completely sound like he probably plans on running for presidency (or vice-), which is alright to me. My argument to those who think otherwise is - what's wrong with that. If anything, I feel like now he would have even more reasons to do well at his current job to have a shot at the presidency. Just like a national sports player has the incentive to play well so he/she can be selected to represent the nation at international sporting events. If that is not how politics work, please illuminate me, I'd like to learn.

Look at the median cost of a house, price of gas and insurance, utility bills like electricity, sales tax, etc..everything is much higher than the national average, and it's been increasing every year despite wages remaining stagnant.
