Alex has said that his only real regret in making this show is not making it clear that Robbie had no idea about the hidden message in the record. Robbie either didn’t know it existed and it was an honest mistake, or it really didn’t exist at all and it was all a figment of Dipper (and Stan’s) overactive imagination.
