- Keith Gordon was born in New York City, the son of Mark, an actor and stage director, and Barbara Gordon. Keith was inspired to become an actor at the age of twelve, after seeing James Earl Jones in a Broadway production of Of Mice and Men.
JAWS 2: Police chief Brody must protect the citizens of Amity after a second monstrous shark begins terrorizing the waters.
I always like Keith Gordan and his movies. Christine is an all time classic
I can't look at a tub of yogurt without thinking of poor Arnie.
Guess I was 9 when this was released. My 1st lesson on coin toss sequels, It was horribe!
@@kawirocket88 lol it's okay, it's not THAT bad haha now part 4 that's horrible
I like Keith but it can’t feel too good when you only get cast as the ultra geeky weird guy lol.. that’s like the only role he ever got to play
Keith was downright chilling in "Christine", holding his own, toe to toe, with great veteran actors. Casting was spot on, too. And man I love that car.. 🖤🩶
Good to hear Keith Gordon he was also in back to school and Christine. Thanks for sharing this. He was always good in movies, like his work.👍🙂
Keith is really an awesome and nice guy. I love him in Christine!! My husband sent a die cast of the car and sent it to Keith to see if he would sign it for my birthday. We never met him nor knew him but through his movies or interviews. He could had thrown it in trash , kept it, or give it away. He actually signed it and sent it back. My husband even asked him to put his favorite line from the movie on the box along with his signature and he done that as well. I was never so happy getting a gift in my life. Thank you Keith for being so nice to me. You don’t know how much that meant to me! I’ll never part with it either!!
That’s so cool
Back To School is one of the best comedies!!!👍👍👍👍👍
He played the role of Jason Melon really good
Melon, I told you to clean my locker.@@pepsiguy52883
Omg that is him
Rodney danger field and Johnny Lawrence were great in it too.. oh and who can forget Robert Downey jr?
He’s a great actor ❤. Christine is one of my favorite movies. Love 💗 Back to School and Dressed to Kill too. Michael Caine was scary in that movie.
Christine is his best role, and it's a DAMN GOOD performance.
This sequel doesnt get enough love. I actually really like it. Great soundtrack and a awesome summer movie, to be in the a/c wgen its 90+ degrees out. 2 scenes i have issues with are the obvious Tina not putting much effort in saving Eddie when he gets atracked and Jackies Screaming.., and screaming.. and....
😂 Thisssss
As an actor Gordon always managed to play characters that were obnoxious and lovable simultaneously, not an easy thing to pull off. A severely underrated director too.
Thank you for your comment and because you mentioned it I'm just curious what do you think is his best work as a director? Right now I can't remember exactly what he directed so I figured I'd ask you since You mentioned this, ok thanks 😀
I didn’t really think of him as obnoxious in Dressed To Kill. Young and a bit immature but not obnoxious.
@@EastSide-qc5oy You’re right there. I was thinking more of; Combat Academy, Christine, Static, Legend of Billy Jean.
@@danpalmer5451 Yes, that makes sense.
@@johnjamesleahy4065 My reply to you keeps getting deleted! Here's my third and final attempt! Midnight Clear is great - understated war movie (the script of which Spielberg used for Private Ryan auditions). Stars Ethan Hawke and Peter Berg. Waking The Dead is also very good with impressive performances from Jennifer Connolly and Billy Crudup. He also co-wrote, produced and starred in Static, a surreal and v low-budget indie from the 80s. Never put out on disc.
I love both Jaws movies, I don't count the others for obvious reasons. But totally enjoyed this.
jaws 1 and 2 were the best the rest were all bad -- jaws 2 they showed the shark allot more often the element of surprise was gone but still a good movie -- i read they had to deal with the elements and hammerheads shooting the scenes -- not easy --
I didn't care for #3 but The Revenge was an okay JAWS movie
My father had one and two on video together, so we'd watch them as a sort of saga. They certainly got the feeling of the first right, so much so that for years I thought two was a Spielberg movie!
Same here. I saw Jaws 2 before Jaws actually. I think I rented Jaws 2 in the fall of 1990 when I was 7.
Jaws 2 was a good movie and the kids did well i thought . shame about the rest of the jaws movies now they were bad . Jaws 3D . could they make a good Jaws movie these Days ???? . plz not a remake dont go near that classic JAWS .
all the shark films they have made, all could have been Jaws films and they may have performed better. so, instead of a remake, Jaw5 could be made, with the tagline ''is it safe to go back in the water?''
Wow, Keith is such a great speaker. Could listen to him all day. Great interview!
I remember him also from Christine.. love this guy.jaws 2 was a really really good movie..probably not quite as jaws 1,but all the same very good
He was in Christine as well the owner of the car 🚗
Also Rodney Dangerfield's son in Back to School. In the late '80s he began acting less and doing more directing...I don't know if he acts at all now.
Also in The legend of Billie Jean with Helen Slater 😊
LOVED that movie!!!
Check out “A Midnight Clear,” directed by Keith, with early Gary Sinise & Petr Berg. Also with Ethan Hawk & Kevin Dillon. Great WWII movie written by a veteran of The Bulge.
It’s Arnie Cuntingham from Christine
What's your real name, Buddy Repperton?
Repperton's got a knife
👆🏻 love it 😆
He really is all his characters. He's not acting. Christine was my favorite
He did a good job in Dressed to Kill
"Mr. Christian! Mr. Christian! Pump up this boat! And shave off that dreadful mustache!
England expects every man to do his duty! You may fire when ready, Quigley! Damn the torpedoes! Full speed ahead!
This will be our finest hour."
Oh, shit!
Oh damn. I jumped on thinking this was a live convo with the actor like so many Jaws 2 regulars you brought on board. 😅
He was good in Dressed to Kill too
I'm surprised he wasn't in a lot more movies, he's a lot of fun to watch. He was great in Dressed to Kill with Michael Caine and Nancy Allen.
Remember Keith: you're a Melon!! A sincere thank you for so many great movies of my childhood.
😂😂
And his arch enemy in “back to school” was Johnny from “Cobra Kai”
Hey I know you , you’re fat and tall!
Oh yeah, well you’re short and skinny, give me back my pencil……
as I watch this movie, something that I can no longer deny. Is that the teenagers then were way more mature than they are today.
And the generations before then even more so.
Facts
They were written that way in movies at least
Yep, except that after 4 weeks of sailing training, the silly girl still didn't remember her lines when, regarding lobsters, she said " I'll have mine drawn with butter. With drawn butter, meaning melted. Lol😅
yes- to hear him say he was 16 during the filming of this...when I expected him to say he was about 20.
He was awesome in Christine...😊
Man he looked so much older… would have guessed early 20’s.
The soundtrack to Jaws 2 is more iconic to me than the original. Perhaps because I was older and it brings back many nostalgic memories. And time moves to fast.
I agree. The 'Jaws 2' score by Williams is much richer and has a broader orchestral pallete. It always annoys me that whenever there is a concert of film music or Williams does a concert, all that is ever played is the main title from 'Jaws'.
There are so many fantastic cues from both 'Jaws' and 'Jaws 2' that have never been played since the recording sessions for the film soundtracks.
I like the way he describes his time on the movie with total fondness and doesn’t bash it at all.
Always liked Keith, seems like a nice guy. Plus he’s one hell of a diver!
Filmed right here in my back yard in Navarre Beach which used to be the best kept secret in Florida. Not anymore.
My family and I stayed in the Holiday Inn a few times where part of the movie was filmed, the last time was the summer of 2004. I was sad when I found out that a hurricane destroyed it. Last time I went by where the hotel was (2015) it was still nothing but a parking lot. I used to love Navarre because it wasn't crowded like Destin.
I liked Jaws 2. In some cases I like it better than Jaws.
Was he in Back to School?
Yes. "Christine" and "The legend of Billie Jean" were a couple others.
This guy was a big part of my youth. Thanks Keith
I have no idea why I'm watching this
Great actor!!!
Arnie was his best.
As sequels go, Jaws 2 was not bad. It was no where near the quality of the first one, but I think it could have been closer had Spielberg been involved. He might have even been able to get Dreyfuss back as Hooper. Of course the following ones were crap. Jaws 3 was only made to capitalize on the name and marry it to the 3-d fad that was going on at the time. And 4 was so bad it was almost a comedy. Michael Caine even admitted that the only reason he did it was because he only had to work about a week, they gave him a million dollars, and his family got a free trip out of it.
I love this guy.So underrated. I love seeing him on screen
He was good in 'The Legend of Billie Jean' too.
Big mechanical shark dragged through water - I agree that itself would be intimidating
try it at full speed -- plus they were dealing with actual hammerheads and other marine life while shooting --
@@sall4090roughcuts yeh I read that later on the directors thought they were screaming for fun or filming
i enjoyed him in Christine --
I always thought Keith Gordon looked like young Spielberg in Jaws 2. I wonder if this was intended.
this was a good movie for him to cut his teeth on. he was great in christine. the character transformation he goes through as he becomes more obsessed with car. back to school was good too. christine was more about him and the car.
excellent, thanks
Keith has aged well! Like a fine wine!
I'm just happy to watch an interview with Keith Gordon
The shark is dreadful in this movie!!
What a cool video.
And yes, I did like jaws 2 as far as sequels go. If there wasn’t a first movie, jaws2 would have been a serious horror movie.
I thought he was so cute! he still is!
Jaws 2 gets a lot of stick but I’ve always enjoyed it and I am always taken but how much they managed to recapture the feel of the first movie. It really plays like an organic continuation of the first one.
I like the extended version of Jaws 2. Seeing the helicopter pilot being attacked by the shark underwater was great. The scene in which Mayor Vaughn is the only member of the Town Board not to fire Sheriff Brody after he mistakenly shot off bullets on the beach was important.
He was fantastic in movie Christine. Very creepy character. Very well acted. Also John Travolta is in the. Obie whom I love 😊
My favorite Jaws movie was Jaws 10....the college
Soooo much screaming in this movie 😱 I have to say, I mute probably 35% of it…because of that. The actress that played Jackie 🤣 omg…did she even have a voice box after filming it?????
This movie sucked. The only good part was the end when Roy Scheider comes back. I can't believe I never noticed this was the dude from Back to School. Wow.
Keith was one of my fav Jaws 2 cast members.
Great actor, great director, seems like a down to earth kind of guy. Love. And I don't know if I would characterize it as submechanophobia, but the idea of a mechanized shark that's hard for humans to control, with all kinds of moving mechanical parts, is way more terrifying than just...a huge animal that might be interested in eating you.
He was good with Rodney Dangerfield too. Great chemistry.
It says alot about the obvious humility and modesty of Keith Gordon, that he gives this interview about his role in 'Jaws 2', considering it was his first film and he was basically a bit part actor in it.
John Travolta could do with taking a leaf out of Gordons book as he felt he was above being interviewed for the making of documentary for 'Carrie' - because he wasn't the star of that film, yet he owes it respect as it is what got him cast in 'Saturday Night Fever'.
Soo cute and impressive. Luv me some JAWS.
I thought he had really interesting chemistry with Nancy Allen in Dressed To Kill. It was an offbeat (not romantic) pairing of characters and it worked well. Their connection sort of became the heart of the film.
5 years later he played another teenager in Christine. And 3 years after that he played a college freshman in Back to School.
He's a really engaging dude. I'd love to hear break down Christine like this.
Love Jaws 2, 2. There are some deleted scenes in Jaws 2 they should have kept in the movie. 😮
Back to School, Dressed to Kill. Then he went away…..
“Okay, show me!”
Keith Gordon was a good actor, but even at 10yrs old, i knew this sequel was a dog.
Very informative, thanks for posting! Not enough audio-visual info out there on this movie.
Great Actor. Loved all his movies
Priceless interview. Great teen actor and then great director.
Perfect actor for Christine vs Mechanical Jaws...
Great interview and insight…was not much of a fan of the second installment since the shark hardly had any kills himself!
I was around 10yrs old when that movie came out.
And i wanted those sideburns and that hat!!
His point about the mechanical shark is exactly why they freak me out.
Gordon is a way too low key National Treasure.
A love watching these! Its fun to hear the behind the scenes I also felt like I grew up with the actors and movies! 🎥
My all time favorite scene in part three is when the shark had crashed right through the glass window and flooded the control room that is incredible i wonder if anyone got sick from the water
Of all the jaws films I have seen I think part three would have to be my favorite one that they did it is the best one from the series
I once saw an episode of Miami Vice and Keith appeared as a villain. I tried to figure out where I'd seen him before and now I realised he was in Jaws 2
Love Jaws 2
Jaws II was a worthy sequel. The others not so much.
I agree wholeheartedly. Jaws 2 was one of those sequels that was pretty good and would have been more of a classic if the first didn’t exist
it is a classic
@@ScarysReviews No
I like these kind of stories. But i think jaws 2 is a bad film
And remember.... You're a Melon!
What Halloween H20 is to the original Halloween, Jaws 2 is to the original Jaws. The only acceptable sequel that’s actually good 👍🏼
Halloween 4 is great. Too bad the continuity is a mess.
He did a wonderful job
Is that Cunningham !!!!!!
Such an underrated actor.
I always found it strange that he didn’t just shave his head.
Or wear a hat!
He does now.
I remember him from all the 80s movies ! He's cool :) He played Rodney Dangerfield's son in Back To School :)
What's up with his hair?
Awww, he was only 16 yrs old! He looked like a baby.. but it was funny how he says: "we were kids from L.A. and New York, what did WE know about sailing?..." ummm, hrmm, L.A., New York, 2 coastlines.. if those lucky bastards don't have chances to indulge in interests such as sailing, who the heck does?? lol
That was a great interview
Likeable guy
Arnie!!!!!!!!!!!!
Damn, the mechanical shark was still breaking down in the sequel?
Christine!
His hair….
I really enjoyed your interview. I loved all the jaws movies. it was great to hear you talked about the movie. I wish you the best of luck in everything you do. I’m so glad you learned so much about everything about the movies and producing
Everyone was so great in those movies
Thanks for the great memories 😊
I like this piece on Keith Gordon but how come nobody asked him about his character originally was supposed to die in Jaws 2?
Old video
They always seemed to match him with girls that were 2 feet taller than him. He looked like their little brother. Christine. Back to school. Etc
