this anime didn’t just make me sad, it left me empty for days and tbh it still haunts me even tho it’s one of my favs. anime’s like eg jojos bizarre adventure (my fav btw) made me sad but it wasn’t deep enough for it to stick, which is a good thing but it makes anime’s like eva stick out more; this show was so sad and i hope all the characters are happy now (depending on the ending you prefer)

Ironically, evangelion shows pretty much exactly what your going through, the series is pretty grim, the movies are too, but just know that there is eventually light. I felt quite suicidal when I was 14 and still have remnants of those feelings and thoughts, you mainly should try to improve your "mental narrative" and come to terms with your emotions by slowing working through them. And although it's controversial, finding my place with my creator (God, who revealed himself via Jesus Christ) was the most important thing as it has shaped my entire outlook towards pain, despair, love, belonging, purpose, worth, etc in a meaningful way.
Bro I watched neon genesis and the end of evangelion and now I have to watch the rebuild this is the only anime that has made me so close to crying and I am not easy to cry on anime I’ve seen spoilers for the rebuild and I can’t bro seeing just clips of it made me want to cry how do people expect me to watch the rebuild when I could barley sit through both the series and the movie without questioning what im doing with my life shinji’s meltdown had me questioning myself 😭😭😭
In this movie I felt a ton of consecutive emotions, Asuka was my favorite here, even if during the series she was annoying, but here she was perfect. Shinji tried to kill her, which seemed insane to me, I started to cry a lot, and the hospital scene left me traumatized!

Yes you should and the rebuilds while one is really just a rehash of the first five or six episode two is where it starts to diverge but it still command watching the first rebuild cuz it does change some things
