Marching through Tivoli Gardens with the Pipe & Drums Tivoli Boys Guard 2/

This is the last parade for 12-20 of the Boys Guard, that will leave, having reached the limit age of 16.
The Tivoli Gardens Boys Guard was established the same year Tivoli Gardens opened for the first time in 1844! The musical formation began in 1909 and has continued til today.
Today up to 100 boys aged 8 to 16, with an average of less than 13, are a mini copy of the Danish Royal Guard. Each year 12 to 20 are enrolled to replace those leaving. They are schooled for one year in classical as well as in military music, before participating in the marches through the gardens and in Tivoli's Concert Hall in Tivoli, as well as through the streets of Copenhagen, and abroad on special occasions . Tivoli has it own Music school where these boys are intensively trained and prepared to continue their musical carreer when they leave at age 16.

Very interesting. Not as well coordinated as the Guards, of course, but the music was very good as was the spectacle. They probably had sweets or snacks in their cartridge boxes (lol). Washington Post at 5:45? A couple of Souza marches, at any rate. Thanks for posting !
