Thank you ever so much for this amazingly fresh, strong, inspiring journey! I take my hat off for your will and joy of paddeling. Love from Norway and new paddeling enthusiast at 68years, and therefor you are a great inspiration for us contending with the natural lack of ballance that comes with age. That is not going to stop us😉 One day those who laugh will be silenced by their own experience. So there! I look forward to seing your next film👍
PS! I really like your style of nicely ballanced filming with great comments and contrasting with just beautiful scenery👌~ and your endearing honesty. Be kind to you too🥰
Hello Elisabeth, I'm sorry to have taken so long to reply to your lovely comments. I appreciate you watching my films and I'm pleased you enjoyed them. Happy paddling to you and best wishes.
I enjoyed watching your video and look forward to more. Keep it real for us older paddlers. Due to Covid restrictions I have not paddled for a good while now. I hope kayaking is like riding a bike - you don't forget. Your video reminds me to take it easy when I can paddle again and be realistic about depleted stamina, strength and flexibility. Thanks.
Another great video from you Nick. I so enjoy watching the beauty of the west coast of Scotland and every time I see your videos it makes me want to be able to kayak the inner Hebrides. I am here in sub tropical Queensland Australia and nowhere do we have such beautiful kayaking coastline and wonderful islands to visit and camp. Thanks so much for allowing me to enjoy your experience, albeit, vicariously. Keep up the good work for us 60's and over.
Really enjoyed the film Nick. It made me feel tranquil and at peace; can only imagine what it felt like to be experiencing the elements, the wildlife etc.
Us old guys have to be thankful for Nigel Dennis or Nigel Foster or whoever invented the keyhole cockpit. :} Seriously you're out there at least. Envious. The cold makes a lot of difference to flexibility and the amount of energy available. Don't doubt yourself or apologize.
Thank you Nick, a beautiful film. I've sailed past those islands so many times in Drumlin, it was lovely to see them close to. We're all getting older, and feeling that we're not as agile, but recognising this makes us more aware in these situations for our personal safety...keep enjoying the water and thanks for sharing 😊
Hey Nick, we all get older and less flexible, but you're still getting out there, biviing in sub zero and kayaking when there's snow to sea level, don't knock it, its a good effort1
You have seen more Otters on your outward bound trip to the Green Ilse that I have seen on my many trips to Mull. Was looking over at them not knowing what they were when we were last on Mull as we stayed on the Pennygown Campsite before leaving via Fishnish back to the main land as we were then off up to Morar and then Mailaig. I was very tempted to get my Kayak down from the roof of our Motorhome, Might do just that next time. What Camera do you use as it gives very interesting footage that you don't tend to find on other cameras? Like the panning shots were your not having to physically having to move the camera.
I use a GoPro Max which films in 360º. I then edit the footage with the accompanying app. This is actually good fun because you can become your own movie director, choosing the angles and shots you want.
