      "Just follow the PE instructions" Yeah, right! Some of us don't have the microscope eyes and the steadiness of a brain surgeon. Still, practice makes mastery. I also notice he has more than one kit...

    Unreal! You should be extremely proud of your work. A model like this is a real achievement. I’m currently making the Revel 1/350 Bismarck (which I imagine is almost identical to your model) and have put it down and procrastinated multiple times. Your video is giving me the motivation to finish it off. I wish I had put after market guns and stuff on mine though, might go back and remake those parts.

      Tom, I have one question. Not to knock Ebroin for his level of building which is God Level but, do you think doing one complete model straight through would give the best results? I mean work on it for a few days and take a few days off. That is how I do my Models

    Amazing video and craftsmanship! Thanks so much for posting this it's fun to watch. If I might make a humble suggestion with regard to filming: You should use more lighting and stop up your aperture so you your depth of field is not so tight. In so much of the footage your finger or something like that will be in focus, but the work piece, which is only an inch or so away, is very out of focus. Just a friendly suggestion, and thanks again for showing your amazing work!

    You're friggin' amazing. I use MagicSculpt for sculpting, so I'm curious how well it adheres to plastic. What's the earliest model you used MagicSculpt on? Has there ever been any delamination or other general bonding issues?

    • @EbroinSong
      @EbroinSong  5 років тому +1

      Thank you! Magic Sculpt isn't very adheres to plastic but I can enhance it by applying extra thin plastic cement after sculpting is done. There's been some delamination when the compound are not mixed properly or not hardened completely. And rarely there are bit of distortion, but not much. In general, I love this substance.

      Thank you for the comment.
      Magic Sculpt is sticky, to reduce the stickiness, I apply petroleum jelly to my tools.
      Less stickiness, more smooth.
      And after sculpting, I rub the surface with soft brush soaked with lacquer thinner.
      I hope this reply helps your build, and good luck with your rehabilitation.

    I love building models, but lack the patience to deal with photo etched parts. Have the U.S.S Ranger and it wants me to make over 30 AA Guns with photo etched. Turns me off from wanting to work on it :(

    Brilliant job! I was especially impressed by your using sculpting putty to create weld lines--it really adds authenticity. And I've rarely seen riveting added to ships, usually it's done for aircraft.

    Masterful work!. If I might be so bold to point out something to you... It is better to cut PE on a ceramic tile or metal base, as cutting it on the "soft", moveable surface of a cutting mat causes it to bend slightly, necessitating re-flattening. I think perhaps you already know this, and were just cutting corners.

    • @EbroinSong
      @EbroinSong  5 років тому

      Thank you. My blades were worn out too quickly when I used metal plate. I am planning to use Acrylic plate for cutting base soon, though.

    You want to do a Tirpitz? get the Tamiya 1:350 one, no need for putty, its an excellent build, I find Revell Plastics not very good and thin. Good luck with your build.

    • @EbroinSong
      @EbroinSong  4 роки тому

      I built Tamiya's Tirpitz long time ago, it was very very old kit, older than me.
      It wasn't very pleasant to build that old kit, wrong proportion, wrong detail.. worse than revell's on detail-wise.
      I don't remember about its fitting and plastics though, not bad I guess.

      @@EbroinSong I have built both German battleships and I think I only ever used putty once, both my models were bought back in 1990's and in my honest opinion I preferred building them to the Revell 1/350 New Jersey. Like I said it's up to the model maker's preference. I am looking forward to the rest of the build :)
