Hey there, I come from your R3VLimited forum on how you were restoring your old E30 and to say I was invested in the story was an understatement. Funny story is I have an almost identical story except I’m in the “2009” part of it. I also have an 84 325e with the pacific blue interior with the sport seats, power windows, sunroof and mirrors. Long story short my motor blew and I used that as an excuse to turbo it, I recently pulled the trans and motor and am hoping to start the engine rebuild soon. I won’t get into the details but me along with everyone else on that forum would love an update or even a video showing the progress you’ve made since last February. Hey! I appreciate that! When I kicked off the project to restore the car a couple years ago I kinda knew in the back of my mind that phase 1 was basically to get the car out of the elements and in my garage, and then start setting up my workspace - clearing out a lot of unfinished projects and shoring up my space. I had a really bad leaky roof on my garage and some other water/flooding issues due to poor drainage. I've worked my way through a lot of that and have been thinking it's about time to start actually digging into the car. I've collected almost everything I need to replace the full undercarriage, but I haven't really started on it yet. Maybe it's about time to do a quick state of the project update. Thanks for reaching out though - definitely good to know there's interest out there. Plus for the interior lmk if you're interested in reupholstering - I think it's possible to get a bolt of fabric made to replicate the OEM material, which I have been unable to source. Would be good to know if there's other folks out there looking for this fabric and I can look into getting a roll made.
@@Martinwilliamdesign sounds like you’ve kept busy and that is all amazing to hear. I have been actively looking for the OEM fabric so I can get the seat reupholstered, luckily my interior is in virtually perfect condition except a small tear on a seam of the driver side seat. I would also like to see if I could stay in contact with you as I have quite a few questions regarding my build but more specifically ECU related questions that I haven’t gotten quite the right answer due to it being an early model. I was just thinking since we have pretty much the exact same build and you have already done what I want to (2.7i turbo) and the fact that you’ve been working on e30’s for almost 20 years I assume would help as-well lol
