    I don't agree with the whole idea that "3D" just didn't take off, so we can't expect development on it now, and one tablet release is not gonna change that". Sometimes you need to look beyond the device itself. There are a lot of prominent figures in the tech and development industry impressed and excited by the possibilities of this tablet. There is a first, and a turning point for everything

      I get what your saying , but disagree . 3D has been around for a long time and while people have already made similar things ( Nintendo 3DS) it just never really took off. The fact that VR is around and really is taking off makes 3d devices a little redundant. If this was the first 3D I'd think otherwise , but it's not

      @@tttechnology Good 3d without glasses hasn't though. And games shouldnt need much to convert to 3d as all the 3d info is there. I feel it was a surprisingly negative review considering what this tablet can do.

      3D is part of the human experience, It's not a new thing and will always be something that developers are trying to achieve reproduction of as long as humans have two eyes.
      Stereoscopic sight is NORMAL. Covering up one eye and being content with 2D is not.
      3D is not a passing fad. It's the way of the future. Technology will some day make it available to everyone without breaking the bank, but this device has a long way to go. It's great techonology, though.

  • @andrewb76

    IMO 3d hasnt take off because you have always needed glasses. Things in 3d are far more immersive and if you can view it without glasses it will definitely take off. Whether the Lume pad will be that device we shall see.

    What I'd wish to have is a monitor like that, that doesn't try to sell me its own content, but just works over HDMI and converts a SBS-3D image into great looking, high res glasses free 3d

    3D is SOOO great when you look at videos and pictures from just a few years ago, women sob instantly when they look "back in time" using 3D. I love 3D, and I'm sooo going to be at least one of these :)

    I've been into 3D for over 60 years, and I have thousands of 3D photos and movies that I've taken over the years. I was hoping to use the original LumePad to display images taken by my other devices, but it is so proprietary that it won't recognise other formats. I haven't been able to bring in my own 3D material, or export the 3D photos taken with the Lumepad onto my computer.
    By the way, the LumePad is the NubiaPad as sold in the USA.
    Mine has been pretty useless. All I can do with it is take photos and home movies which I can only view on the device itself.

    Acer making 3d laptops / displays. Asus making 3d laptops. I wouldn't write off 3d so easily, glasses free displays are actually viable now for the mainstream (8k glassesless has been around for almost a decade now, but far too expensive). That and a.i. conversion for 3d (spatial labs truegame) it seems like a new wave is coming. Especially for all that VR content that nobody wants to wear a headset or glasses for.

    • @MatteoMi
      @MatteoMi Рік тому +1

      I totally agree. I love taking 3d pictures (stereo, SBS..) and I would love to have a way to share with my family living in another country. Here's the thing, I cannot ask my 75 years old mother to wear a VR headset, select the right app, open the pictures I've sent.. that's just not going to work. This tablet would be perfect, but I cannot afford to spend over a 1000 on it. Acer's SpatialLabs also is over 1000. *It must be affordable to take off* but, unfortunately, if they don't sell really well, the price won't go down but, if the price isn't going down, they will not sell well, every time it's been the same.

    I have this tablet as well, the 3D is great but its not phenomenal. It has this weird edge on converted videos, also some 3D pictures has overlap issues on the edges. Plus the battery last only 1 hr, if you put in Frame mode, which is disappointing. Although i argued with many that the tablet is worth 1100 for its 3D tech, but now i know its worth 800 or less only.

    Can you see content stored on the SD card storage in 3d?

  • @andreasdk
    @andreasdk Рік тому +3

    I think the premise is way off for this video. No, one 3D tablet will not explode the 3D marked (unless Apple made it...). Don't even think Nubia/ZTE claims that. This is a niche gadget and should be reviewed as such. You really need to be into 3D to buy a 3D tablet in the first place.
    So is this a great addition to the 3D marked or not? For me, it's a big YES! The huge problem with 3D cams has always been how to view your content afterwards. You really need to be an enthusiast to put on your VR-headset, dig through terrible software and then finally with seconds or half a minute delay get to view a video or photo in 3D.
    This tablet seems to solve these problems rather effective. According to their forum they've now included a lot of 3D formats making it MUCH easier to watch all that old 3D content we've produced on our EVOs or Fujifilm 3D cameras etc. Secondly they made it much easier to shoot and watch 3D content without terrible delays or big headsets, and thirdly they've build in a micro-sd-card making it muuuch easier to transfer old photos and videos. And if you want to see blokbuster 3D movies instead - they got you covered as well. Now that's progress!
    Please review the tech for who's it aimed at. Building a premise around this claiming it should revolutionize the industry is just...way off!

    • @tttechnology
      @tttechnology  Рік тому +1

      Its simply a tech review covering the whole thing. Thats pretty much the conclusion of my video that if its just for 3D then its great, for normal users its not a good buy. You need to understand that my viewers are not 3D enthusiests so the review has to be balanced

    • @andreasdk
      @andreasdk Рік тому +2

      @@tttechnology I'm a journalist myself and do know about balanced reviews :) I just don't think it makes sense to review something as a possible revolution when even the company itself doesn't claim it to be. It's a false premise that creates a false criticism. I completely agree that it's fair to make a conclusion that says "This is for 3D enthusiasts only and will not revolutionize the industry." But a review always gets better when you actually review it to the potential buyers. It's even more fun to watch for the people that knows they are not going to buy it anyway.

    Nubia is building very good device's but They don't care about their software so most of the time your device will be unusable in normal day usage I had 3 Nubia devices and I was so sad seeing such powerful and good build phones running bad because of not finished Software. Most likely waiting for a other big company that will also build a device like the 3d Tablet would be better than purchasing this device sadly
