Thanks for the shout out - a very good track to finish on. Perhaps his finest. I confess to having a cat in the house, daughter's choice.

Two stormers there Mal - Wolf Of The Cosmos and Veedon Fleece. Saw the latter on LP once in a secondhand record shop, hummed and hawed, and stupidly walked away. Reasonable price too. Why oh why. Been kicking myself ever since..

Cheers Tom- I don't think it's rare so shouldn't be too hard to spot another

Yes, a compromising moral case of pet ownership, with the exception of 'rescue' pets, & you could argue that most 'rescue' cases are rescues from bad pet ownership. My own solution is to feed the birds & squirrels every day. It gives them a leg up as they manage to survive the ongoing destruction called Progress as best they can.
    Squirrels are essentially flying monkeys.
When you feed them you have to separate the feed stations so they don't start scrapping.
Then you get odd sights like 2 squirrels sat munching almonds either side of a window ledge like 2 bookends, while one other feeds higher up on another ledge, with one other roughing it on the bin, & another one halfway up a tree, all munching first thing in the morning. This triggers a flashback:-
Circa 1964 one sunny Saturday morning: 5 working class kids sat around the back doorstep of Colin Taff, who just came back from the newsagent with at least 5 comics & was happy to let us share in a communal reading spree. He had 2 brothers; I suppose that's why his family could afford 5 or 6 comics compared to our one a week.
So we all sat around his back step, reading British comics as The Beatles conquered America & Harold Wilson thought of ways to get on the bandwagon & we waited for Lurch to grab someone's hat & Morticia to do the Twist later on.
I tagged along as the youngest, my 5 years elder brother being my passport. 5 working class kids in library silence for an hour, & the only hushed comment:
    "Have you finished that one?"
    - - & then 2 kids would swap comics, until all of us had read every comic.
So when 5 squirrels spend the morning keeping the peace while munching on almonds, they may as well be reading comics in 1964 as I see it.

What about guide dogs for the blind ? I'm also worried about the women of the north-east. Will it be auf wiedersehen pet in future ? Some good albums there Mal. How Will The Wolf Survive - Los Lobos is another great one. Cheers.

Hi Mally.. Pet ownership is something that i have never understood, but that aside in 53 years of buying and listening to albums i have no hesitation in naming Veedon Fleece the best all round album i have heared.. Without a doubt.. Take care..

An interesting point of view on pet ownership, not sure , but my dislike are zoo's and circuses, the former as they are just prisons and the latter because it demeans the animals.
