I actually don't care for any pick-up system for guitars. I would rather have them recorded using just a high quality mic. But if I had to "plug in" for some reason, it would be with the ones from LR Bags. They mount under the bridge plate, instead of under the saddle. I hate under saddle pickups...lol... Very nice video.
Great description of what the HiFi system will do. I love your videos. While you are Alvarez, you don't come across pushy, just very informative and entertaining as well.
Hey guys great video, thanks! A little tip on notching; notching actually works better than phase but for it to work properly you have to first identify the problematic frequency by turning up the frequency level and sweeping back and forth. Then when it feeds back the most, turn down that frequency and the whole signal becomes balanced and free from feedback. If your feedback is happening at 240hz for example and you turn down 125 hz it'll still feed back. The notch must be centered on the specific problem frequency. Hope that makes sense. Phase and notching should be used in tandem, begin by finding the most well behaved phase position and then apply a small notch to the worst feedback note. Then you should be able to use a pickup like this even with a loud band with little to no problems.
I play my DYM60HDE thru my PositiveGrid Spark40 acoustic setting and clean setting. For the first 6 months of owning the DYM60HDE I never plugged it in. After 40 years of disappointment why try. I was actually disbelieving when I played it thru the Spark40. It is plain and simple; beautiful. Yesterday I ordered the HiFi for my DYM75. You must try the Hifi thru the Spark40. I will be playing for my friends wedding, 13 July 2024. BTW, the DYM60HD is a dream-come-true guitar for an old man like me. In every way imaginable, it is a great guitar. I won't name-drop on all the other fine acoustics I own. Sincerely, at the top of tone, volume, sensitivity, lack of compression, 1-3/4" nut and weight.
Sounds fantastic. I have seen a few demos of the system on UA-cam that just don’t sound right. No one seems to be posting details of their EQ or signal path. Can’t wait to put my hands on one of your guitars with the Hi-Fi. That LF70 in daybreak has my attention.
I’m really glad you did this video because I agree with you. So many videos, including Anderton’s, who should know better, plugged directly into a board and it sounds like a flock of ducks! Even the best pickup systems are meant to be played through an amp and speakers not direct into a mixing board. I have stage pro Anthem in my guitar and when I recorded my new CD we didn’t use the onboard pickup but a high-quality studio mic! But playing live through through my Fishman loudbox mini, the pick up system sounds incredible!
Curse you LR Baggs for coming out with the Duet , now I have to choose... ha ha, I'm kidding of course. This system sounds great gentlemen. Having this system pre-installed is amazing.
i now have the LF 70 E NATURAL , with this pickup system , straight to thE AMP , [ AN AER 60 , OR USING A MULTI EFFECTS PROCESSOR , OR DI , ITS FANTASTIC , RECORDING , PLAYING LIVE , STUDIO WORK AND THE GUITAR IS AMAZING , I WOULD SAY THIS LR BAGGS HI FI PICKUP , IS UP THERE WITH THE BRAD CLARKE SUPERNATURAL SYSTEM WHICH I THOUGHT WAS THE BEST IN MY OPINION ,
I just got a CYM75CE. Having a CY75CE, I really liked the included equalizer and the easy access to the battery. I don't know how to swap batteries for this setup. A video from you guys would help a lot
I've had the Hifi installed in my Taylor Grand Concert mahogany and have world of trouble. It's muddy as heck. No amount of EQ on my Fishman Loudbox Artist fixes it fully. Should I switch pickups? Add an EQ pedal? Something else? Thanks!
This is basically an eq’d k&k that’s less feedback prone, easier to install and remove and is active. I like the k&k but the glue is a turn off. That and the fact that it lacks high end and feeds back.

We appreciate that, @Steadfastly7! Glad you enjoyed. What would you like to see next?

Sounds great, guys! Bridge plate transducers always sound superior to under-saddle piezos, in my opinion. Thanks for all the info ~

Excellent presentation. Thank you gentlemen. I love your channel.

Great to hear! We love HiFi too, thanks for your kind words

Love the HIFI in my Kingwood Guitar. Broad range of sound and does not sound hot. Very warm
Great Video, Thankyou 🎸🎶🎸
Glad you enjoyed it!
Excellent video.
Sound outstanding!
Brilliant video!!! Thanks for explaining the phase, makes sense now😅. One day I will buy your guitar when enough £ is saved

That sounds so good!!!
Gonna do another one of these with the hifi duet?😁
Great demo -- but how does it sound straight into the PA and without the PADI?
I'm a fan of your videos. However, here's a question. What effect, if any, does UA-cam processing have on the sound of the videos?
My opinion is I wouldn’t want a pickup system other than a K&K

LR Baggs Anthem TRUMIC Element is pretty damn good too. Actually sounds like a mic.
Wish Alvarez would sell the Laureate line of guitars with an option NOT to have a pickup in it . I rather install my own .
The HiFi sounds better than micd! 😮
Sounds better but still has that slight quack
K n K better. no battery hassle.
Too bad on my side, I can only listen 🎶 fantastic music but I guess music don't like me. 😢❤😢
Never say that it’s not easy I’ve been playing for lil over two years and hardly play one song without issues but it’s still lots of fun 🤩
