Cavtat is a charming little town less than 20 km south of Dubrovnik. The area is most attractive because of the Mediterranean vegetation covering it. Cavtat is among the region's most desirable tourist destinations with its rich and fascinating historical heritage, beautiful scenery, and a wide range of tourist services.
Cavtat, originally a Greek settlement known as Epidauros, came under Roman rule around 228 BC and later became a Roman colony. In the 15th century, it became part of the Republic of Ragusa.
Some of the notable attractions in Cavtat include the Rector's Palace, the Baroque church of St. Nikola, the Franciscan monastery, Bogišić's scientific collection, the Vlaho Bukovac Art Gallery, the Račić Mausoleum, archaeological sites, the city walls, and the Šipun cave.
Numerous beautiful beaches are the main reason Cavtat is a desirable summer destination for most visitors. Crystal clear and unpolluted sea depths offer perfect refreshment in the hot summer days.
Cavtat provides a 7-kilometre promenade that runs through pine forest paths, just a few meters from the sea. Along the waterfront, various bars and restaurants are available for visitors. These places offer different food options, from inexpensive pizza and pasta to local delicacies and fresh seafood dishes at higher prices.
Cavtat is very well connected with major Croatian cities through Dubrovnik and Cilipi Airport, while local communications with the surroundings include ship and bus lines.
Although Cavtat is a small town, it has much to offer.

Cavtat is an absolute gem, a must -visit place in Croatia. I vished Cavtat this summer..Greetings to the Croatians from distant Texas in the United States.
Just got back from there today. Absolutely loved the place. Loads to do. Eat. Drink. Swim. Boat trips to all the islands and Dubrovnik. We didn’t want to leave. It’s busy but doesn’t feel busy. Yes. Thumbs up 👍 from us. Highly recommend
I've been to Cavtat many times over the years, really love the laid back vibe, I like Dubrovnik but it is too busy for me, Cavtat is perfect. I love sitting in a bar on the front looking at the super / mega yachts and my wife loves looking at the people on them!!
Cavtat old town is a lovely harbour town full of bars and restaurants, a cuple of museums and a great base for exsploring Dubrovnik. The beach vibe is more rocky than traditional beach, although beach Zal is great for younger kids as is more beachy....from Fort Worth, Tx.
This really is a lovely place. Great walks around the coast. Nice atmosphere. Boats to Dubrovnik. We enjoyed it very much.

I visited Dubrovnik but I was not informed about it is this very beautiful locality. So I did not visit her. I'm glad I can see it at least on the video. Very beautiful presentation

I spent a two week holiday there in 1972 when it was a bit primitive and not geared up for tourists. Now I can barely recognise the place it's changed so much, and for the better.
I visited Cavtat this summer. I loved the place.
Hi, may I ask, do you have to pay to go to the beach or is it open to everyone? I imagine it at least costs money to rent the chairs.

Beautiful
Stayed there five times and we both loved it. Peaceful quiet and relaxing. Watching the sunset spectacularly disappearing on the horizon. Dubrovnik lovely to visit by the local bus or the water taxi taking in the beautiful scenery. Millionaires arriving into the harbour in their catamarans so it tells you a lot about the resort. Quality restaurants wrapped around the harbour. Great choices. Excellent hotels and self catering accommodation. It has everything a great escape for the laid back who love tranquility ❤ 😊

Hotel Croatia, i was there from the 11/09/21 to the 22/09/21 my room was on the sea side great vue. The music at night at the piano bar is not to good the girls that is singing is all the time sing the same thing, the outdoor swimming pool is great and the people at the bar super but the indoor swimming is sea water ( that is nice ) but to fucking cold. The rock beach in the back of the hotel is nice and the little bar cool. A lot of choice for breakfast. The standard room are with small balcony on the sea vue room the balcony is way bigger. The safe in the room very easy to program with the code that you want. The only problem you have lots of stairs to go to the village or anywhere but you can call at the desk for a golf car to comme and get you at the beach or to take you down from the hotel (free) but we gave some time a tip to the driver. The people are so nice. The hotel is not a true 5 star at best a 3 star
