  • These 5 DIY WOODEN CHRISTMAS TREES are a great beginner woodworking project to either sell at the holiday markets or to decorate your house. All of them can be made out of scrap wood with very limited tools. In fact, all you really need is a jigsaw and some glue. A bit of paint helps make them pop.

    I really like the pine tree with the candle holder - and the simple triangles with the layered sides. So simple yet stylish.

      @@startmaking1 yes, I have a pile beside my shop that is 15x5x4 foot, it’s quite a mix of things. It’s on a tarp and fully covered by another tarp. Must get into it before some critter makes there home in there.

    Wicked video again mark they look amazing certianly something someone with half brain like me could do. The last one the 3 triangles are they 45 at the points or 90 but joints? Think am certainly gonna attempt them and the similar one to yours and Mathews. Love the tea light holder one though 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍

    • @startmaking1
      @startmaking1  Рік тому +1

      Hi Michael. As always, thank you. The top of the triangles are 30 from square. For this I set my circular saw to 30 and then sliced across the ends. They are then set not as a mitre but with one slightly shorter than the other, sitting against the side so as to get end grain against side. Then the bottom I fudged a bit. The bar across is just a butt joint to the sides. This was a seriously weak triangle but with the blocks joining the 3 triangles together I made sure to overlap each joint of each individual triangle. Now it is super strong. To be honest, any way would work so long as each triangle comes out the same. Or close. The tea light one was nice until I sprayed it and it went very yellow. Shame. Oh well.

      @@michaelwillson6847 Great advice as always Michael. I feel like we are kind of learning together and from each other. Love the woodworker community. I have been eyeing up these clear plastic router templates that I see on videos from the likes of designs by Donnie etc. Look like they will be great fun as and when I get a router.
