- Shawn Fain, the president of the United Auto Workers, explains why the union endorsed President Biden's reelection, saying he "can't fathom" any union supporting former President Donald Trump.

Without unions it would be low wages everywhere and no one would be able to retire.
You do not know this. Maybe for the first 60 years, but times have changed. We are now a bunch of little unions working effectively because treating us like crap, frankly, risks labor organizing on a large scale. Don't let the scab killing days return.

My job isn't union. On average we make $7k more than union shops in our field. Soon as we start talking to union guys on job sites, they start asking if we're hiring. Half our crew are ex union who say leaving it was one of the best professional choices they have made.

EV do not require 40% less labor to make. It might take 40% less production line labor, but somebody has to make the modules for the line to assemble.
Also US automakers are gonna need much MORE production labor from workers than ever... once Americans realize all the money savings is HUGE and once they trust that the needed recharging infrastructure catches up... transitioning to AMERICAN MADE EVs is the way to go... not GOP Big Oil foot-dragging and whining all the way while China gets their foothold in the inevitable ahead of USA.
Of COURSE Big Auto USA is for the change... it's our inevitable future and those FIRST TO DOMINATE MARKET make their own rules AND MORE MONEY.

Second thing is figure out who is paying for the charging infrastructure and get to it with new industry standards, not Tesla standards.
