  • I share the story of how I ended up getting bypass surgery. My "widowmaker" artery was almost completely blocked and I'm grateful that we were able to catch it before I actually had a heart attack.

I am a little over a month removed from a quadruple bypass. I had some of the symptoms you mentioned and supposedly I had two heart attacks. 😲 Two arteries were 100 blocked and a third was almost completely blocked. 😲
I just celebrated my 59th birthday (January 7). There was a time I thought it would never happen.
The hospital experience...? Yup. Been there done that. Loss of appetite? Ditto. The hospital food? 🤮
Prayers for a full recovery. 🙂

I doing pretty well now. I just finished the cardiac rehab program.
I'm glad you made it. Sounds like it was a pretty close call. Good luck with your recovery!

@@buchananbuilds485 Thank you. 🙂 I'm getting aftercare now. One is cardio exercise and the other is blood pressure (which is a little low for a reason.)

Sorry to hear what happened to you. You look pretty good considering. But, you also learned a hard lesson to listen to your body. Hang in there!!

I’m sure that was a hard video to make. Glad you’re doing good.

I had a widowmaker July 2023 100% blocked. Opened up with a stent but lately angina and shortness of breath....I go to my Dr soon. I fear bypass...

After going through it, I can say that it isn't as bad you think it would be. It definitely can be hard mentally, though. Good luck with everything.

Listen, Fred, and please listen good. I agree with Buchanan. I was a little hesitant, but I don't regret it. One month-plus after surgery and the good days are getting better and the bad days are getting fewer and further between. Really, the most pain is from sneezing and coughing. The doctors and nurses have helped minimize the discomfort dramatically. The incision is only slightly tender.
