The 90s called. They're thankful durable products for carrying real loads are back.
Sure wish that colour was still available.
Nice pack!
Do the rocks come with it?
Unfortunately rocks are not included with the Terraframe 80. But here's the good news: If your pack's too light, there are free rocks everywhere in the backcountry!
I noticed it doesn't have a grab handle :(
There is no grab handle, however you can easily lift it by the top of the frame in the same way you would a traditional grab handle.
Thanks @BackcountryEdge, now I stop worrying about the grab handle :)
Same as Dana design Terraplane.
I heard it is the same owner but different companies. My Dana bomb pack lasted over 15 years.
I just watched a video talking about Mystery Ranch as a company. The same guy designed both packs, and in fact this is literally just an updated version of the Terraplane.
@@LaigledeMeaux Mystery Ranch still makes the Terraplane, this version gives you the Overload feature that the Terraplane does not. Both are great packs.
I have the Astroplane overkill in black, you can definitely see the resemblance.
show the guy walking up a slope with THAT!
Terraframe 80 ruined my trip!
1.- Uncomfortable, the suspension system isn't appropriate for the weight. (I do not use the extra load capacity)
2.- The backpack totally limits your mobility.
3.- Difficult to adjust in the field, the waist strap gets stuck.
4.- The belt clips are weak for the weight, one of the main ones broke in the middle of my trip.
5.- It is not practical, you need a friend help to put it on and off your back because the weight and size. If you are alone, you are lost. You need first put the backpack over a table and then on your back.
6.- Is not a long walk backpack, I have to stop walk every 100 yd to fix the waist belt and to rest the shoulders.
You do not imagine the nightmare that I experienced 3 weeks during the whole trip through Central America, it was a real headache, largely ruined my trip. I know well this backpack.
I will never use it again, definitely.
I can imagine to use the extra load feature; all that weight can seriously damage your back.
Sorry to hear you had that experience. Its definitely not the pack for everyone, and there are certainly lighter weight large capacity packs out there. Have you reached out to Mystery Ranch about the clips?
@@Enwild Yes I contact Mystery Ranch for my money back and is out of warranty and return. Now only wish burn the backpack, was a nightmare.
did you burn it already? there are some folks looking for this pack cheap if your willing.
It sounds like you picked the wrong pack for your task and Physical capabilities. I am a 60+ jungle Explorer and that environment is hard on most things so better luck next time , at least you made it out alive. I spent 5 years in the jungle and it's a ruff place. Wish you better luck on your next trip don't give up its fun out there.
If you’re definitely not going to use it again, can my son have it??
