I have been training and teaching Kenjutsu/ Iaijutsu for 30 years and it have never seen this style of “flicking” the sword like this. Probably because you won’t really cut with those dynamics. I’m guessing that the reason is less practical and more symbolic in nature? The blade on blade is killing me. Real swords get badly damaged. From a jujitsu standpoint, if you can’t cut properly, your jujitsu techniques won’t have the full effect and efficiency. But maybe this style represents more footwork? 🤷
Only the first guy shows Aikiken as taught by O'sensei - because it is most similar to Saito Sensei and Saito Sensei is the boss.
I can’t understand….. they were not so close with O’Sensei like Saito Morihiro Sensei, but they are in this movie. Why?
