    Thanks again for taking the time to get these handy workshop how-to videos up here. They are a real boon to new owners. I would only add that with electric start Bullets such as the one shown it is said to be a VERY good idea to put a some extra Ford Type F ATF fluid into the case, well above the 420 ml (about 14 ounces or 1¾ cup) level indicated by the level plug. This is to better lubricate the electric starter's sprague clutch assembly, which is otherwise prone to catastrophic failure. Apparently a service bulletin from Royal Enfield advising this practice went out to dealers and service centers many years ago. Wise owners of electric start older-model "iron cylinder"' engines will run somewhere between 800 ml (27 ounces) and a full US quart (32 ounces, or about 950 ml) in their primary drive cases. Riders of older-model Bullets without electric start need not use more than the 420 ml that the level plug indicates.

      Great idea! I usually kick start it and don't think much about the starter B-)

    How is this single spring seat coz I'm having a 1985 bullet which has a stock seat (double seat). I want to replace with this kind of seat. How comfortable is the seat?. Does this seat works good for long ride?. How comfortable is this seat compared to the stock one

      I love it, it is fairly comfortable which helps with the rugged tractor-like stock suspension. I have gone out for 2-3 hours at a time. At the end of a long day you will still feel it, but with breaks every hour or so you'd be fine B-)

    Hi, I'm just wondering where you got your oil filter from? Is it custom made or made out of a oil bath ? :) Keep up the good work

    • @ArizonaRE
      @ArizonaRE  5 років тому

      I ordered mine directly from RE, just a standard packed material filter. OEM

      I use Ford ATF in my primary which is great for hi-temp wet clutches.

      I may be able to help, but not in time to get you on the road quickly. Check the forums at forum.classicmotorworks.com/ the gentlemen there have great advice!

      It has been a year since your comment, so I assume that you have already long since fixed your clutch cable. But for the benefit of others who may come along, or sadly soon perhaps you too if you used a low-quality RE cable instead of a far higher quality Barnett one, full step-by-step instructions for replacing a clutch cable on an iron cylinder Bullet 500ES (2005) with the 5-speed gearbox can be found at forum.classicmotorworks.com/index.php/topic,25968.msg299048.html#msg299048. Other models may vary in their layouts, but the general principles will be the same.

    Hi,
    I think I over-tightened the screw :-/
    There was a loud sound..
    I am now afraid to open the primary cover to check if any damages have occured, since everything is working and no oil is coming out by now.
    Do you know which impact this could have?
    Best regards,
    Stefan

      Chances are you over-tightened and pulled a few of the aluminum threads. If it is not leaking you probably got lucky

    I want old model 2005 RE bullet 500 cc how this bullet well or not well

    • @ArizonaRE
      @ArizonaRE  5 років тому

      They are easier to work on, but require more maintenance. 2005 should be a good year with improved 5 speed transmission and alloy barrel.
