🌸 just made sugar free version of this, the family loved it So I used ground nutmeg, cardamom crushed seeds as taste is better, ground cinnamon, a bay leaf 1 only, fresh ginger pealed, chopped & pounded, use as much as you like. I used 1 tin evaporated milk, to which I added water after 2/3 of cup and let it simmer gently with sultans. Then I dry roasted the cream of wheat till it was lovely golden brown colour because I love darker colour later. I used real butter because I do healthy keto, so I have to use fresh unsalted butter I used skinny syrups in vanilla caramel cream 1/4 cup, note it comes in different varieties of flavours. I used powdered stevia granulated sweetener, 4 tablespoons, with 1 teaspoon fresh vanilla bean paste to very end as I mix it all together. I made less so I used 1 1/4 cup cream of wheat, 4-5oz butter, I tin of evaporated milk & 2/3 cup of water, use more water if required. 1 cup of fruit, I chose sultans because it’s softer than currants. I made less so there was no temptation to eat everything lol and I shared. With fresh butter & milk and fresh spices this makes all the difference to the taste & I was so pleased with results No one guessed it was keto friendly 🎉
I usually add diced butter to the parched cream of wheat... then add raisins and cherries... parch it a bit then add milk mixture. Elychee and clove adds more flavor.
Oh I love these ladies , happy to see you guys together ,I don't like cream of wheat , Jenna can I use flour kezzy great job as always , Jenna you are such a wonderful & humble person 👌👍❤️ the colab .
Hi Kezzi , I think the other recipe you were talking about is Carrot Halwa which is mostly made with milk and of course carrots and cardamom/elaichi :/sugar/ginger and sometimes khoa /concentrated milk solids but no cream of wheat .
I love you guys so much, everytime I'm unsure about a dish I always use you guys as a reference! Love the stale jokes from chef Jason and the sarcasm from Kez ❤🖤🤍 #MyFoodieAirFryer #MyFoodieAirFryer#MyFoodieAirFryer #MyFoodieAirFryer #MyFoodieAirFryer #MyFoodieAirFry
Never knew about this form of halwa. We use eggs and milk with much more spices and essence in our halwa. Carrot halwa is different though, needs ghee and some rasins, pistachios, cashew nuts, cardamom, milk and Khoa and sugar. Its very nice. ❤🙏
I Love Her channel!! Kezzie eh easy nah. Talking bout is fuh me. Aye allyuh make meh miss home with this. Kez Dey make yuh work fuh snack tuhday. Oh gosh
Butter and cream of wheat go in first then on and of the heat until the color is good then milk water and fruits go in for a while until softened then the condensed milk sugar salt and cinnamon so that it is not too caramelized but just right, MIX WELL then transfer to pan

Hello ladies never had halwa looks very sweet. How about making pawpaw balls no one has recipe please and thank you in advance.Keep safe thanks for sharing.
hello, thank you for the the recipe, as I think it would be an excellent item to make with my high school culinary classes. Since class is only 45 minutes and the general highschool student cares more about stuffing their face than learning I believe the characteristics of this recipe makes it doable especially if cooking the cream of wheat the day before. A few questions though: Is the cream of wheat variety of Halwa localized to trinidad or is it found through the rest of the middle east as well? I see many of versions of halwa being served hot/warm using a bowl to quickly mold it. What is the most traditional method of formal presentation for this Halwa? hot? cold? Also regarding the finished product. Exactly how pronounced should the sweetness be? During my first test run of the recipe I found it exceptionally sweet, but this may be the result of the dried cherries and golden raisins I used. Next run i was considering cutting back the sugar a touch and adding more fruit.
from checking the cream of wheat website (yes there is such a thing) original is 2 1/2 minutes with there being a faster 1 minute version which i think you should avoid for this.
Hello Kezzianne and Jenna, thank you for your recipe. I love cream of wheat but I never had Halwa either in all my years in Trinidad. I certainly will try it once I can find cream of wheat after lockdown. Can you guys make baklava please and thank you in advance. Please keep safe and as usual bless up. One love ya'll 🙏🏽♥️🙏🏽

🌸 sweeten it to your taste, so use two tablespoons of sweetener with less than 1/4 of skinny syrup 🪔✨
I usually add diced butter to the parched cream of wheat... then add raisins and cherries... parch it a bit then add milk mixture. Elychee and clove adds more flavor.
Love it with Elychee and cloves, I use my geandmother's recipe though. Instead of butter I use Ghee.
They cook pork regularly in that kitchen.
Cardamom is a must in this recipe. My mum use chopped prunes in place of the raisins... deliciously wonderful!
Yes! Two of my favourite Trini cooks. More of this please !

The carrot halwa recipe she referred to is called gajjar ka halwa, a popular sweet dish popular in India. Not sure how popular it is in TT.

Carrots is usually the way some Pakistani people make it, it's delicious
East Indians makes carrot Halwa, it's common even in Toronto Canada
Is this the "instant" cream of wheat or the "2 1/2 minute" cream of wheat or just the regular cream of wheat?

kezi - i havent hears about the carrot either. r u sure u researched the right halwa?
Can I omit condense milk and decrease sugar if diabetic.
Can u use flour instead of the cream of wheat
It looks delicious...but I refuse to eat Halwa without Cardamom..it's a must...more cardamom and less cinnamon...that's just my take on Halwa 😋
