Ha! I'm so happy you showed us the saved dutch oven. I'm glad the dinner turned out good, but losing that pot-- that would be awful!! Your meals are so "what normal people would cook" and I love that! Oh, and you did a great job filming as your kid was staring at you! (we could see in the microwave!)
I have def adopted this philosophy of using up what I have ranging from the pantry to my makeup collection. It is crazy how much we think we need or just want and how much of those things are wasted. Looking forward to continuing this mentality this yr ♥️
Do you keep a list especially with the makeup? Or do you just go thru what you have and use it up .. I find myself forgetting or not being mindful enough of what I have and tend to buy doubles by accident thinking I already used something up! (For ex, my fav mascara ..)
This is what I've been doing, going through the pantry and I can't believe how much stuff I had that was expired already! I had stocked up a little for 2020. And some things just get pushed aside. Now I'm using them. They're still good.☺️
You are such a natural at combining pantry items into delicious meals! I have been cooking for only about two years and I experiment a lot! Sometimes it tastes amazing and sometimes it goes horribly wrong and I still eat the results because I can't stand to waste food- 😂 thanks for being real and sharing your recipes- they have helped me 🌻🐕🦺
Making my way through all of your videos. I get so many ideas, print out the recipes you share, and have learned so much! I am much more creative with leftovers and with what we have on hand. Thanks Mindy!
My kids have been home for 2 weeks now. I am home working and doing everything else too. I love easy meals. Thank you for this. Watching you right now is my self care moment.
I had several boxes of the instant oatmeal packets that I donated because I didn't know what to do with them, I love how you used them. Thanks for sharing great tips!
Love when you use "scraps" as my mother use to say and sometimes you end up finding out a new recipe that comes out of these creations. Thanks for sharing and I would love to try those breakfast burritos!
You always do such a great job using up those odds and ends. Such great inspiration for the rest of us! I get so frustrated by them! Like who left two chicken nuggets or 3 mini pancakes and what the heck can I do with them?!
Yep. Been there. “The children” is the answer to both those questions in my household. Same answer for, “who put the empty package back in the pantry/fridge?” 😂
if you bring a little water to boil in your pot, add a couple teaspoons of baking soda SLOWLY because it will foam up, turn it off and let it cool. it should come right off with a cloth. :)
We are a family of 7, after seeing your videos I have been pushing myself out of my comfort zone to keep eating what we have. I had a small stock pile of things that I saved as back up and now I am using that back up to help stretch our budget even further. It has become a luxury to have fresh produce items on hand and I am pushing myself to go as far as I can and be even more creative with the things we still have due to being taught by watching you!
Thank you for the wonderful videos! I always enjoy each one! One note...I think when we burn a milk based sauce it is called scorching. Scalding is what you do to milk to kill bacteria and it impacts the proteins and enzymes in the milk. :)
Mindy, I just love your channel. I've gotten so many recipes and ideas from you. Thank you for being a real mom, and feeding your family real food. I can relate with you so much. I really enjoy your content. Keep up the great job.
Rs your enamel pot, empty out the food. Add a few inches of water. Add a laundry dryer sheet. Bring to boil uncovered. Turn off heat, put on lid & let it sit for a few hours. All the burnt on food will lift away! Then wash pot as usual.
I recently discovered your channel, and I’m really glad I did. The content is great (making easy, budget-friendly and family-friendly meals), and you keep it real. Your down-to-earth approach is refreshing.
I’m so happy to see your channel doing so well (you’re so close to 100K!!!!). I’ve been around a long time now and always thought you were one of the most genuine UA-camrs I’ve ever seen. Your success is well deserved, Mindy!
Mindy you are the queen of using bits and pieces to make amazing meals ! Everything you make looks so delicious ! Thanks for all your great ideas and tutorials ! I hate food waste and love the use it all up ideas you share ! Thanks Mindy !
Hi Mindy, I use stew meat to make quite a few things and I wait till the meat is tender before I add any dairy products to guard against scolding or scorching issues. I'm bad about walking away so I understand the struggle.
Thanks Mindy for the oatmeal packet cookie recipe. I had many leftover at home and didn’t know what to do with them. Got to try different flavors kind now. I can’t wait to try it out!
T About that dutch oven. Dont scrub. Put It n ur sink make heavy bleach water and soak. It will clean inside and out effortlessly. Thanku i am a recent newbie to OK i found u this morning. Love ur channel.
Mindy I just came across your channel not too long ago and I absolutely love your videos because it just seems more my style of cooking. It's so relatable like let's use up what we have! I would have never thought to use the oatmeal packets to make cookies!
Great ideas-thanks for sharing your creativity for using leftovers. Thrilled you saved your Dutch oven. I had a waffle maker failure yesterday and worried I wouldn’t be able to save it, but I did!
I love these videos! I can’t make it to the store often because I have two littles and it’s freezing outside so I watch your videos for inspiration to use what I have in the house.
I’m cracking up. I thought when you pulled out the half used cheese that your imperfect box sent, I thought they sent it to you that way…half used…oh goodness😂
Oh no! Glad the pot survived. While making a chili, I burned some to the bottom of the pot. Then quickly transferred it to another pot. And proceeded to burn it a 2nd time. So...repeat step one! In the end, it was fine, but I had 3 pots to scrub clean. 🤪
I love this ! This is a kind of recipes I look for . A cook from scratch! And I’m learning how to cook so I can eat ! Lol 😂. And bring food to work for lunch . ❤️
Those breakfast burritos look delicious! One of my favourite meals to make at home that feels like a splurge is homemade Taco Bell crunch wrap supremes. So easy to make and my boyfriend loves them more than the Taco Bell ones!
Hi Mindy from Australia. We have a recipe for oats that was used in the war years with rations that people received. The recipe is called ANZAC BISCUITS I am sure you would find the recipe online. Just love your channel even though we are empty nesters now family all grown, I do enjoy watching for ideas.
It always a good feeling to throw out empty, used up food items vs full or half full that have spoiled from not being used. I cleaned out my freezer yesterday and could have cried at the waste. Mental note to be more aware of what’s in stock vs just buying out of being unsure what we already have. Now, question, what did you do to save your pot? I have one have had for years that needs a good scrub to get the bottom inside of the pan that’s discolored and burnt that needs a good soak and scrub.
I've been looking for something to do with that same cheese! I'm trying so hard to get my pantry and freezer weeded out ..we are getting there, but my imagination is wearing out ..love the inspiration.
That Orzo dish looks delicious, i will add some frozen broccoli too bulk it up.. thanks for sharing.. i have Orzo and chicken and veggies can go for that today!
What fun! And yes, occupational hazard (where the heck did that come from?) - so will you be buying those potatoes from now on? Those burritos especially looked good!
I’m glad you were able to save your Dutch oven. I got that same brand this past fall and I hardly cook in it because I’m afraid I’ll burn something in it...ha.
I started watching your videos for Weight Watchers and you gave me some great ideas and motivation,. Last week, I started watching your Eating From the Pantry videos. I am learning so much from you! Tonight I made your Dad's chili (which was very good! Even my four teenagers said it was very good!) I also made you oatmeal packet cookies today. I only had 6 packets...2 cinnamon, one apple cinnamon, two strawberry cream and one peaches and cream. I mixed them all together! I was worried it might taste strange, but no! Delicious!! My family of six loved them! Thank you! Also, I am eyeing your ebook. Wanted more info. I tried googling them to see more info, but didn't see anything about the recipes. Are most of the recipes for dinner? Is there a discount code that works right now?
yes yes yes more please more than 1x month pretty please I ordered the imperfect box for a month now love the price and product but unfortunatly they are no longer sending to my area because FedEx keeps messing up the deliveries and 1/2 of my stuff is ruined. so upset
I just love you Mindy mom you're so much like I am now I don't eat meat except salmon every now and again but what I do I just replace a grain called quinoa with the the chicken that you use or whatever kind of meat you use cuz I'm trying to lose some weight and my doctor said that the vegan diet was really the best but I still eat eggs and like I said the salmon but I love your throw together meals we call them down south where you get some of the stuff out of the freezer you see what's in the pantry and I have two big boxes underneath the bed of canned goods you can do a lot with canned goods too like my granny said and she would save this and that and just make the best soups out of it God's blessings to you and your beautiful family 🙏🏻💜🥰🏄🏼♂️♥️🐱🙏🏻💜🙏🏻💜🙏🏻💯
Oh my gosh...cookies using oatmeal packets is GENIUS!!! Great ideas - all of them!
Ha! I'm so happy you showed us the saved dutch oven. I'm glad the dinner turned out good, but losing that pot-- that would be awful!! Thank you so much! That’s the vibe I’m going for. 😊

Mindy! Girl! You make me feel like less of a failure. It’s ok to be a messy mom sometimes. And a simple reminder is all we need. Enjoy your day.

Hang in there! Mine went back today. Who knows for how long. 🤷♀️

Add M&Ms to those cookies - they are SO GOOD. I made them with red and green M&Ms for one of my Christmas cookies.
Thank you for the wonderful videos! I always enjoy each one! One note...I think when we burn a milk based sauce it is called scorching. Scalding is what you do to milk to kill bacteria and it impacts the proteins and enzymes in the milk. :)
Have to say the instant oatmeal cookies and cheesey potatoes were genius.

There were several ideas for those on Pinterest if you have oatmeal packets lying around. 😊
Thank you, Mindy! Once I saw those instant oatmeal packet cookies, I dove in! Made Cinnamon Swirl oatmeal cookies and can I say they are fabulous!
Good to know! I’m looking forward to trying some different flavors, and I thought I might play around with reducing the sugar a tad.
Great ideas-thanks for sharing your creativity for using leftovers. Thrilled you saved your Dutch oven. I had a waffle maker failure yesterday and worried I wouldn’t be able to save it, but I did!
Always inspiring Mindy! Everything you made looked delicious. I can’t wait to try them all. ❤️

We just did Brinner the other night and we did breakfast burritos with chorizo and potatoes. Delicious!
Those breakfast burritos look delicious! One of my favourite meals to make at home that feels like a splurge is homemade Taco Bell crunch wrap supremes. So easy to make and my boyfriend loves them more than the Taco Bell ones!
We just tried a sheet pan version of those the other night!
I’ve made them on the griddle individually and you’re right, they’re delicious!
I love these videos and learned so much from your creative meals!

All the combos made sense and looked yummy, but such a shame about the scalded stroganoff🙁. what a great idea having breakfast for breakfast😂
I made energy bites with oatmeal packets. Worked great

I just let mine soak with some dawn and I was able to get everything off.
School has been closed for 1 week here and have been virtual after MLK day. Hoping school will return soon

I forgot to finish it. The original recipe calls for adding a bread crumb topping made from bread crumbs and butter! Just an idea. 😊
Great ideas!❤️
Great video, Mindy!! ❤❤❤
Love your yummy creativity!
Another great job Mindy🙂
Love you're videos, always reminds to shelf, freezer cook
Fun cookie idea.
if you burn your pot again, add some hot water and a dishwasher detergent pod, its magic.
You are so creative. I want to be you when I grow up lol Great job 🙌 👏
Just found you. You are the best. Appreciate all your help.
You always make me hungry I love your videos 😀
Great video Mindy!
Thanks, Cathy!
A magic eraser is helpful for stuck on food. Check first to make sure it won’t damage the service.
What fun! And yes, occupational hazard (where the heck did that come from?) - so will you be buying those potatoes from now on? Those burritos especially looked good!
Fun ideas! I think next week will have to be a pantry challenge for me so I don’t go over budget 😂
Cookies look great
I’m glad you were able to save your Dutch oven. I got that same brand this past fall and I hardly cook in it because I’m afraid I’ll burn something in it...ha.
It’s great! I rarely burn anything! Don’t be afraid to use it! 😊
I’m trying the same thing too. But hub keeps going to buy more the grocery store lol
Haha! I can relate!
