Quick PSA the greytide bits are absolutely fantastic and I would recommend them 100% however I would not get them printed from only games. Their print quality was absolutely abysmal. I had to throw away half of the bits I had printed they were barely cured and sticky. They had bits of supports that had been poorly removed all over them and then cured on to where it was impossible to remove them without damaging the print. I have seen multiple people on the blood angles Reddit that have had similar problems. I printed the same bits on my printer and they came out just fine. If you are looking for printed bits take a look at Archie’s Forge. I have ordered with them 3 or 4 times and have had no complaints with any of the items I got.
One minor point with Death Company- they re-roll all hit rolls, not just in melee. If DC with Bolt Rifles use their free Heroic Intervention they re-roll the charge too. I've not got the models to try them yet, but given the fact that the Bolt Rifle squad can take a Thunder Hammer or Power Fist, an Eviscerator and... er, a single Chainsword for some reason they're still pretty nasty in melee whilst also having solidly capable shooting and Overwatch. If they charge anything which doesn't have really good armour in LAF, even the basic Marine is going to be swinging 4 times at S6 with full hit re-rolls which is a lot more pain than most people are going to expect from what looks like just a slightly emo Intercessor squad.
in death company, since they become battleline you can add an inquisitor for extra dev wounds on the free overwatch and get to farm command points from the unit at the same time, ive been running DC with bolt rifles for skirmishing and shepherding the DC marines
I am trying to start Ba, I want to get Horus heresy models and proxy them as 40K BA, any ideas? I probably would get sanguinius and proxy him as Dante or sanguinor
Most of the HH models will be way smaller than their Primaris counterpart. The FW units : Angels Tears, Crimson Paladins, Dawn breakers are not even at the size of the new mark VI and mk IIi, they are old firstborn size. They will look like dwarves next to the Primaris. Sanguinius as the Sanguinor could work however, he is a bit bigger but with the right base it's fine. You can also use a 30K Deimos Predator, as a Baal Predator since it's kinda the same chassis.
@@Azcabalt I use Deimos support predators as Baal preds. @Op yeah you need to have a look at the scale. The newer plastic HH will fit I presume but you will need a lot of bits to convert them to death company for example.
As far as the DC captain... It's not always necessary to use them for oc or secondaries, because there are going to be units that aren't on the objective trying to shoot you, and it makes a good unit to handle those threats so your other guys can be on an objective. Plus, just have a chaplain within the bubble, and they will still have oc.
devastators in razorbacks are a lot of fun. Any of the heavy weapons with the reroll wounds are great, especially if you’re attacking an oath of moment target, plus you’re once per game reroll from the squad. If something does get close, charging after you shot with a Sargent with power fist/plasma isn’t the worst, and it’s 12 strength 6 hits from the rest of the squad.
I was able to kill about 5 marines in a 10 man squad that was led by a lieutenant with mephiston’s shooting in my last game and when he got to his charge phase I reminded him that mephiston has fights first so he decided to charge them into my Dante instead. Was a longer charge but he made it. I then used heroic intervention to move mephiston into the fight aswell and the look on my friends face when mephiston managed to wipe the remainder of the squad leaving only the lieutenant alive was priceless.
What your missing is the much maligned whirlwind. With jump dc getting innate rerolls anyway and other fire support like ballistas having rerolls too. You can use oathed whirlwinds to create an awefull situation for the opponent where they cant stand back but not can they come close
Kinda unrelated but I miss sergeants having a slightly better statline than the troops. Meant your kitbashed heroes felt more epic (without having to spend points on actual characters lol.) Also meant you had more decision making when removing models.
What y’all think about sanguinary priest with hellblasters? Apothecary can return 5 models max over course of the game. A priest only needs 2 5+++ in order to prevent loss of character. Both can be brought with lieutenant. So perhaps there’s something there?
I know one big complaint is "Divergent Chapters are better because they basically get all the generic options PLUS their own special characters, Chapter-unique units, and additionsl detachments", but I feel like it kind of makes me just wish, then, that they'd take each of the other Compliant Chapters; those who are in Codex Space Marines, and give them some more unique, "themed" units. The Blood Angels have Death Company, and Sanguinary Guard, and..., and the same is true for the Space Wolves, and others, so it's too bad that GW isn't willing to make something special for Iron Hands, like a unit that has slightly better Toughness, and/or a FNP save, to depict their cyborg nature, or an improved Biker unit, for the White Scars, that's more on par with Thunderwolf Cav, or the Eldar Jetbike units. I know that they aren't as popular as the "to 11" Divergent Chapters, and at some point, even as GW SAYS thar they want to help their flagship faction, it does just come down to cost, these groups DO also have their own themes, and if the clincher for the Divergent Chapters is the extras, which this video really helps depict, then maybe that's what the flagging Astartes need? Not a standalone Codex each, or even as many unique models as say, the Blood Angeks obviously get, but points aren't going to do it, abd too many targeted rules changes just even further invalidates the codex people already bought...and still have to refer to five other sources, for the accurate picture, so maybe they could kick out an extra book; Cawl's Creations: Ruminations of a Radical AdMech, and then he designed these other units to capitalize on the boons each Chapter possesses. I'm not saying the current Primaris are simple, but he did have 10,000 years, and he made more than just the Primaris; he made their kit, and he "programmed" them for how ro work, even without overseeing members of their own Chapters, so maybe he also designed some elite Bikers, are teched out troops, or whatever, and then they can work on folding these into Codex Space Marines, in 11e.
That or they need to give the divergent chapters their own codex fully with separate unit cost and maybe even make it so they can't even take all the base SM stuff.
I had an idea on how to do the death company dread well enough. bladeguard vets lead by a chaplain why the death company dread is kept within 12" of the unit

I know it’s weak but I’m a big fan of 10 Death Company + Sang Priest + DC CPT. It’s a decent death ball with okay retools that can smash into things around the board. (Found out this isn’t legal and now my dreams die)
I both love and hate the Blood Angels codex, there are great rules and data-sheets in there and there is some head-scratchers too. It’s too heavy on the Death Company and Captains, talk about bloat.
Both Sanguinary Priest and the death company dreadnought belong in tier three, being fairly useless, the priest not being able to group with the one unit you would actually use him for, blade guard veterans. On any other unit he is just added cost. The dread is too expensive and is not going to see a lot of use. Also the Death Company jump marines belong in tier 2 after losing just about all their guns and half of their melee weapons. LeMartes make them good and as such Asteroth will see little use I think because LeMartes is so much better and I doubt people will run a lot of death company units with the weapon changes. The sanguinary guard is good, but at least 5 points/model too expensive, not too cheap, and as it is the one batch of 6 with Dante will probably be the main use of them you get to see as they are too expensive to be widely used. As in previous video where you declared blood angels one of the winners of the point update, I feel you are overestimating Blood angels somewhat and not taking into account what the raised prices do for the overall army strength compared to the considerable loss of weaponry for death company and the loss of units like the priest with jump pack and maybe even the librarian dreadnought. Also the movement ability of the death dread is a significant downgrade to the unlimited combat reactivation the previous death dread had.
Bruh I feel like I am the only person who really loves and misses the old DC Dread's ability, it was so nuts and so fun too. I threw a DC dread at a friend's Devilfish in one game full of Breachers, he tried to shoot it so I Melta'd him back and damaged him, then I charged into him and fought but didn't quite kill him, his Devilfish then HAD to fight back so I got to fight again and killed it, his breachers fell out the back and I consolidated into them, now they were in combat and they had to fight so I got to fight back AGAIN and wiped them. I definitely feel on the Brutalis Dread that ability might have been a bit much overall, but you could have changed it to limit it to just melee as opposed to being able to shoot or fight back and you'd be golden. It regardless felt absolutely filthy and I am glad I got to use it like that the very last time I played with it pre-new release.
I am aware that the Death Company on foot aren't the greatest, but like many of us, I bought the launch box, so they're part of my 2000 points. I'm just gonna use them until something else happens.
I printed jump packs and the little thruster bits on the legs for mine so now I'm painting up 2 units of 10 jump DC one led by Lemartes and one by Astorath
I really really hate how GW has decided that all of 40k should revolve around named characters. A whole load of the best units for Blood Angels are all named characters. Which is just peachy for someone like me, who likes to play a successor chapter with his own characters, and doesn't want to use the Blood Angels characters...
So just paint them in your scheme and call them something else. This isn't an actual problem. I play sallies. I have epic heroes from other chapters painted up in my colours so that I'm not confined. Feel like running loads of termies? Cool, here's my salamander "dragon wing" army for play. Feeling choppy? Here's my ashen wing army who gets into melee. And no, chaplains are literal gold for blood angels. Priests are great. Captain in LAG with rage fuelled warrior is God tier and mandatory.
...Where's Corbulo? Where's Tycho!? Why are death company bottom tier now!? Why is there no death company asault troops!?!?! WTF HAPPENED TO WARHAMMER!?
With rules this busted the meta chasers are going to be all over this. That Mephiston alone is insane for 125 points. They crammed three models worth of rules costing over 500 points into one model for under the cost of a basic Dreadnought. He has better damage and saves than two Primarchs FFS Yes, his weapon is apparently stronger than THE EMPEROR'S SWORD wielded by a PRIMARCH.
His weapon is d3 which can f*ck you over. And yes he can win any loyalist primarch by lore so yes. Emperor sword is good weapon, but it is wielded not by emperor. )
The fact that my favourite 40K UA-camr also plays my army will never fail to make me happy

@ he is a good unit, but his punch a bit swingy yes. And it is funny because it is literal ancient psychic sword who killed great daemons and etc etc etc.
The Blood Protects 🩸
I know it’s weak but I’m a big fan of 10 Death Company + Sang Priest + DC CPT. It’s a decent death ball with okay retools that can smash into things around the board. (Found out this isn’t legal and now my dreams die)
Sanguinary Priest can't attach to death company
@ oh you right I just assumed SP had a chaplain tag. Thanks mate, now I don’t have to look a fool at my LGS, but now I cry.

Why don't you include Legends units in your analysis?
Because they aren't supported in tournament, and auspex focuses on that sadly.
Warhammer has become a sweaty game
@@william9557 ...and a sad one.
I'm very happy that grey tide put these out as I was not getting the vibe from the GW stuff
As a DA player i feel very envy.
I ran the dc jump captain against necrons and he died and exploded for max damage
So he isn't competitive but he's very funny
Can we get a Necron breakdown soon?
Death company jumpers got gutted flesh tearer bros its so over
🩸👼🏼😃!
Use them as proxy ai on foot
Mephiston is overrated
I've tried him in 3 games now and he's been a disappointment every time. Damage is too swingy, he can charge into intercessors and do next to nothing
😞 some of those models are just ugly now WTF happened
They are too dark now
...Where's Corbulo? Where's Tycho!? Why are death company bottom tier now!? Why is there no death company asault troops!?!?! WTF HAPPENED TO WARHAMMER!?
And Dark Angels boring . No good detachments
With rules this busted the meta chasers are going to be all over this. That Mephiston alone is insane for 125 points.
They crammed three models worth of rules costing over 500 points into one model for under the cost of a basic Dreadnought. He has better damage and saves than two Primarchs FFS
Yes, his weapon is apparently stronger than THE EMPEROR'S SWORD wielded by a PRIMARCH.
His weapon is d3 which can f*ck you over. And yes he can win any loyalist primarch by lore so yes. Emperor sword is good weapon, but it is wielded not by emperor. )
