I'm literally doing this exact same build starting this weekend with a 1990 single cab that also use to be on leafs. Thank you for this perfectly timed video, I'll be referencing it many times I'm sure.
The work that goes into this is amazing the small steps to make sure the fender bumper frame and steering clear before letting it roll out of the shop is 5star worthy great job you guys
That center plate for the transfer case welded to the bar is genius for several reasons, but what impresses me the most is the use of poly bushings to allow the driver a little more comfort while still providing feedback!
Awesome, just like every video y'all upload. I'm always impressed with the quality of work from everyone who works at Stellar Built. Good job everyone!
Ive had a few buddies run the horsecollar like that, with poly bush at the frame. when wheeled hard they dont allow enough movement for chassis flex and will eventually crack the reduction housing, yes even with poly motor mounts. theres a reason every OEM mounts motor and trans on basically a 3 pt system, so torque is transmitted through the engine block solely and not through the transmission case which it was never designed for..
Can't wait till I get my 88 4runner running so I can get this 3 Link then we can talk about nostalgia she is clean no rust you'll talking about them old Toyota's. I can't for anything find someone to do a attention to detail clean motor. Has original 102k 22re and original auto, tcase but removed for SAS build. Looking for either a turbo diesel or LS with new 6 speed. Stellar will help me soon enough.
Hey guys. I appreciate the montage during disassembly. If I may offer a little advice on filming for this part... Static shots are much better better because of the way our eyes work. If you pan in and out while moving side to side too much during a montage, the eyes usually can't keep up. Try keeping b-roll moving slowly or not at all. The action is in the work, not the camera. I hope this helps your viewers stay engaged. Love what you're doing here, and I appreciate you for your hard work. Thanks.
Hmmmm... steerer reviewing, I may want to walk back just a bit. 😅 Good shots, I think maybe they're just jumping too quickly from roll to roll. Either way, slowing it down just a bit will help with processing all the cool parts and work and help the viewer feel like they're part of the process.
@TyinAlaska I'm a newbie UA-camr and I get what you are saying. But I think there's a certain audience for every channel. I don't believe Stellar Built is looking to teach a online class on how to build a rig. I believe Stellar Built is showcasing there abilities and quality of work to the mass community, which as a viewer.. I appreciate. ✌🏾
Your feedback is much appreciated. We do what we can to make the videos as enjoyable as possible for you as the viewer. You must understand that we are compiling a LOT of footage (nearly 2 hours of footage in this specific video) into a viewable single sitting, so some videos come out better than others. Regardless, I hope you continue to enjoy them. Cheers brother -Art
Some great videos are you putting out and detailed. I was watching Pure 4x4 upload of your block party and saw two Land Cruiser one had custom engine work with green interior the other was turbo grey. If possible can walk around and info be done if possible, thanks for your work and content
find it strange seeing all these videos people talking up the 5vzfe 3.4 v6 when here in New Zealand every one hates them and would rather the 3l or 1kz diesels
Here in the states they’re known for being unkillable. Have a buddy with a T100 with the 5VZ, literally drove it around with a floating valve in cyls 3 &5 put new valves in, thing acted like nothing had ever happened, compression was good and everything
The 3.4L is incredibly reliable and can be pretty powerful When you pair it with the supercharger and turn it up. I can’t compare it to the diesel Toyotas beings we don’t get them.
EPA regulations brother keeps us from doing things like that so we just super charge everything here also I have the 4.0 much better of a motor way more to torque
@@fourtiefourfour4259 okay that makes sense. i guess or laws are not so strict. the 4.0s sell much cheaper here the 1kd Hilux due to the cost of fuel and the fact they that to refuel so often which doesn't make sense on long trips out the beach
We don’t have the diesel version in the US we either have to 4bt Cummins or something like that I have an 88 yota with all that and I’m still using the 3.0 v6 until it dies I guess but it starts every time
16:20 ish. Checking that gap is key. Just curious, do you account for deflated tires being wider? If so, do you have general measurements for say... 33, 35, 37, 40" spread when deflated?
Does the top link mount set up you put on this help with pinion angle at full drop? I haven't seen anyone else do it like this before. Normally its on top of axle tube in line with it, or in front of the bottom link mounts.
What were your spring rates on the front and what PSI on the nitrogen are you running?? I've got a similar setup is why I ask, always good to have more info you know...LOL
amazing top of the line stuff. it's almost a little too perfect. it's almost too capable. The only thing that would make it better is a 1uz instead of the 5vz (great engine but 1uz just makes more sense for this build).. This build is almost like when you use a cheat code in a video game and it's now too easy to play, you have the ultimate weapon that just makes the game no longer challenging. That's kinda how i feel about it, like it's a literal monster truck with 20 inches of travel, idk what else you could do to it to make it rock crawl better. It's also so nice i wouldn't even really want to get down in a truck like that. It's a work of art.
Awesome video! I enjoy watching this stuff to learn what to do to mine only mine is ‘86 extra cab. What 1 ton axles would you recommend to put under it? I’m building a crawler/trail truck. I’ve heard some do like a Chevy Dana 60 in front & 14 bolt rear & some say ‘09 to ‘14 super duty axles? I’m not sure if that was the yrs on the superduty’s but somewhere around there. Thanks for any help!💪🏼👍🏼

That was some awesome custom fabrication. Turned out so good!
I have a 3rd GEN but I grew up on these old ones and nothing beats Old-school gang gang 😁😁😁👑👑👑👑👑👑🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The welders barber needs a shout out. Dude looks like D'Artagnan with warlock powers. 💪👹

UNREAL! Good ol Toyota Hilux! From Australia!
Where did you see a Hilux ?
First time seeing your videos, i have to say I'm very impressed with the quality of work i saw.
Thanks and welcome

If only we had diesel 😢

Kings for the win!
Great video I want to put the same kit on my 91.
ALMOST flex's as much as a good leaf spring setup!
Nice work and nice video. You guys might get an LED panel mounted on your camera. Some shots were pretty dark.
Yeah that will definitely be needed

Any videos on here of this thing wheeling?
As I understand it, there is 5wz-fe, but what are the bridges from?!?
Nice job!
this is my DREAM TRUCK. wish the owner had social media
Hello
Can you tell me what engine is there and what axles are there?
amazing!! what did they paint the bare metal with @stellar built
Dude how do I see more of this truck?! This is exactly what I want to do to my 91
Get after it son!
Those front shackle's are about 3 inches to long , and 5 link is 3 times better then 3 link in my option ?
Like the old commercial. Toyota, we make it simple.
I was digging the build right up till i seen the chain tcase 🤔 nah still nice tho straight forward build aloha braddahs 🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
