I think the biggest problem with BFNV is that the faces on all the characters just look Hideous- the weapons and items they wield are actually really well done and have some great texturing
I think the scientist does look a bit better but man did they do a lot of them dirty. The imp mech doesn't even look like a mech and has turned into a child's playtoy
Actually the new designs were honestly better, visually for zombies, the plants do feel a bit weird, (especially when chomper doesnt feel as gooey and chompy as gw2), they emphasized the wackiness and made them more cartoony. My only complaint were the skills and gameplay it felt so bad, expecially the shift taking away the sprint burrow and scientist movements. How they massacred my all-stars. And the removal of multi characters.
Gw1 looked awesome for it time. It’s aged well. Too bad the servers aren’t as active as Gw2. I honestly like bfn, it had so much potential. But they stop support way too early in its life.
as for the latter there really wasn't much to expand on since variants, one of the most staple aspects of the pvz shooters were competely scrapped, along with a lot of wonky rebalances and barely any progression, ntm they made rose's face look like it went through a distortion filter and slapped an hd roblox man face on citron while removing his really cool shades
I feel like one of the appeals of GW2 was that you could import almost all of your progress, cosmetics, abilities almost everything over. It felt like newer players had a lot more things to unlock and to work for while the older ones/ ogs could continue where they left off and focus on the newer stuff.

I honestly can’t stand BFN art direction, Garden Warfare 2 art design is just so much better. The gritty-silly feel they some how pulled off in the GW games just fits so much better than the goofy cartoonish looking BFN ones.

I honestly like the movement of BFNV, especially the little details like the roller skate zombie stumbling a bit at the start of her boost then gaining control and stabilizing herself.
A small detail I noticed is missing in BFN. In GW and GW2, the zombies eyes actually moved on their own. In BFN it seems that the zombies eyes are static and locked in the same place.
My opinion BFN:best graphics, best Hero abilities(most) GW2: best variants (should’ve kept them in BFN) best variety GW1: Most nostalgia and where the idea started. If GW3 came out with the best of these 3 I’m sure the community for garden warfare would be revived

Anybody else find it weird that engineer had a ability slot reworked twice? It went from a laser drone, to a manual turret ( pretty much mirroring pea Gatling), and then to a automatic turret with a buff surrounding it! ( btw, the buff I believe gives 1.5 times firerate and gives out ammo plus reduces overheat)
tbh z mech was better in bfn due to popcap learning from peashooter abuse (specifically pea gatling) and made imp auto escape when his mech got destroyed, engineer was a far greater threat in bfn with a sentry and a drastically buffed sonic grenade, and all star was much better at defending with his improved tackle dummies, however super brainz was watered down with the lack of ranged capability though the shield was real nice, but in spite of all that bfn was complete dogwater compared to gw2 due to a lack of variants and questionable character rebalancing
You forgot about god awful design. The worst case of this is Imp and Z-Mech, this isn't even level of "Look how they massacred my boy" it's a "Stop, stop, he's already dead" level of bad design. The entire game looks cheap, works cheap, and probably is cheap. But oh my god, did they destroy Z-Mech. Imp himself now looks like an average Discord moderator, but his Z-Mech... It looks like a robo gorilla. A very, very poor drawn one, turned into 3D model. His Z-Mech looked fantastic in GW2, it definitely looked like a Mech, and BFN just decides "We're using knockoff GW2 figures to make new designs." and made it into whatever it is. The game doesn't even have a moving background while selecting characters, we only have some piece of modern art behind the characters, they've gave so little craps that Crazy Dave and Dr Zomboss are not only poorly drawn (Zomboss looks decent, at least something isn't turned into The Thing knockoff), but they have no animation. We also have Giddy Park! But it is just a... Park. Nothing interesting or cool here, just an open space. In GW2 we had a real deal, a real world design, the comment is already long so I won't spend more time on describing every difference between GW2 map and BFN, but GW2 is better in every way. Now for the real gameplay maps, they look quite bland and underwhelming compared to GW2. And some segments of maps would fit anything but PvZ related games, Cuphead, Rayman, literally any other game BUT PvZ related one. New characters also can be goo- oh wait, we're talking about BFN here. They are underwhelming, in every way, except for 80s Action Hero, he's actually good. Wizard? He himself, his magic, and his skins look bad, he's overpowered (Underwhelming in every way also means underw-ing in terms of balance), and he's basically Zomboss' knockoff Rose. Snapdragon? Could've been done better. Running? Pretty lame feature, no one actually needed that, so yeah. And also what I don't like is them doing the "Oh side1 has something? We'll add one for side2!" like Oak, he's basically a Z-Mech but for plants! Basically, this game is awful, nobody wanted to make it, and nobody wanted to play it. 3/10.

The lighting is just so much worse in bfn its insane. Imps really bad. No lights on the helmet, unfinished animations for reloading, and the z mech looks far too lanky for its own good. Another thing is that every explosion in gw2 for things like ultra ball and missiles are much more vibrant and large when exploding which makes them stand out better in gw and feel much more satisfying to use.
GW1: Goofy shooter game with little storyline GW2: A little too much storyline and lobby stuff, but a good game BFN: They removed everything good about the models and abilities: CACTUS CAN'T EVEN USE DRONES!
Here’s my tier list on goofiest, realistic, cartoony, and weapons. GW1= Goofiest, realistic, good weapons. GW2= More realistic, less goofiness, og/new good weapons. BFN= super duper cartoony, same weapons but less seconds.
Pvz2 will always be the best but I'd like to believe all of them are still so fun to play even to this day. Bfnv was just a lot more fast paced than the other two games.
Where as the gameplay may have had a lot more variety and was a lot more fun but the last one was definitely more fast paced. Its like when cod went from boots on the ground to the jump gear and tactical sprinting. You can travel around maps faster and there were a lot more mobility skills.
One thing i really like about the redesign of The Z-Mech between GW2 and BFN is how the eventual full disruption of Zomboss' future butt supplying effected the latter game's design. You can see that The Z-Mech is clearly not as advanced as it once was. The much more lighter figure, the thinner arms and the overall more skeleton-like structure really shows how he had to tone down the old design in order to make it fit the current day.
I loved the comics. I don’t think the devs really thought about it that way buts it’s a really good idea for many limitations the zombies receive after the future factories are destroyed by the plants.

Honestly the only zombie design change i actually kind of like is Super brainz. I dont like that his emblem dosen't glow anymore but i do like that its now his intials and their also on the back of his cape. His hair being more animated alongside his cape having a few tears in the fabric is also a nice touch. Too bad his abilities are way less vibrant and his hit registration sucks half the time. Also the cape is now less animated, why?
The only reason people like gw2 is because it’s sharp look but you have to except that bfn is fun when your team is doing what there supposed to do like use healers as healers not attack and defenders like defenders not attackers and I like bfn because of how it really try’s and go for the goofy look plants vs zombies has
I prefer garden warfare overall since it captures the darksy-cutsey vibe of the og games with plants and zombies having there overall vibe intact. Bfn feels a bit too cutesy in my opinion and that's in no way bad just it feels a bit off compared to regular pvz
That's not the only reason. Bfn took out the literal best part of the game which was the 110+ characters in GW2. Everything about GW2 is more enticing and fun than bfn and bfn could never replace the beauty of GW2.
I understand everything about why gw players hate bfn but what i dont get is the complaints about the character redesign like in gw and gw2 the zombies look so small and their head is so big same same for the plants

I fw Garden Warfare 2 but I can’t lie, bfn got some pretty good character designs
Garden Warfare 1 is my favorite game of all time, but I really like the redesigns and animations of Bfn, they look very cartoonish and fun to look at

The lighting is just so much worse in bfn its insane.
Imps really bad. No lights on the helmet, unfinished animations for reloading, and the z mech looks far too lanky for its own good.
Another thing is that every explosion in gw2 for things like ultra ball and missiles are much more vibrant and large when exploding which makes them stand out better in gw and feel much more satisfying to use.
GW1: Goofy shooter game with little storyline
GW2: A little too much storyline and lobby stuff, but a good game
BFN: They removed everything good about the models and abilities: CACTUS CAN'T EVEN USE DRONES!

Here’s my tier list on goofiest, realistic, cartoony, and weapons.
GW1= Goofiest, realistic, good weapons.
GW2= More realistic, less goofiness, og/new good weapons.
BFN= super duper cartoony, same weapons but less seconds.

Why did 3 have to mess everything up. All of the characters looked good then they turned them into stick figures. Classic EA moment.
BFN aint GW3, It's a different game, the artstyle is based on the PvZ Comics
Pvz2 will always be the best but I'd like to believe all of them are still so fun to play even to this day. Bfnv was just a lot more fast paced than the other two games.
Where as the gameplay may have had a lot more variety and was a lot more fun but the last one was definitely more fast paced. Its like when cod went from boots on the ground to the jump gear and tactical sprinting. You can travel around maps faster and there were a lot more mobility skills.
I want all the cards from GW 1 to be added to BFN, I liked them the most.

One thing i really like about the redesign of The Z-Mech between GW2 and BFN is how the eventual full disruption of Zomboss' future butt supplying effected the latter game's design. You can see that The Z-Mech is clearly not as advanced as it once was. The much more lighter figure, the thinner arms and the overall more skeleton-like structure really shows how he had to tone down the old design in order to make it fit the current day.
I loved the comics. I don’t think the devs really thought about it that way buts it’s a really good idea for many limitations the zombies receive after the future factories are destroyed by the plants.
@@Lemoncoder103 Well they clearly built BFN around it them considering how well the two games are linked through the comics. Now I just want the duo of Nate and Patrice to appear in a game.
Why do all the BFN characters look so goofy?
Honestly the only zombie design change i actually kind of like is Super brainz.
I dont like that his emblem dosen't glow anymore but i do like that its now his intials and their also on the back of his cape.
His hair being more animated alongside his cape having a few tears in the fabric is also a nice touch.
Too bad his abilities are way less vibrant and his hit registration sucks half the time. Also the cape is now less animated, why?
The only reason people like gw2 is because it’s sharp look but you have to except that bfn is fun when your team is doing what there supposed to do like use healers as healers not attack and defenders like defenders not attackers and I like bfn because of how it really try’s and go for the goofy look plants vs zombies has
I prefer garden warfare overall since it captures the darksy-cutsey vibe of the og games with plants and zombies having there overall vibe intact. Bfn feels a bit too cutesy in my opinion and that's in no way bad just it feels a bit off compared to regular pvz
That's not the only reason. Bfn took out the literal best part of the game which was the 110+ characters in GW2. Everything about GW2 is more enticing and fun than bfn and bfn could never replace the beauty of GW2.
Bfn’s not a direct sequel to gw2 there was going to be gw3 but bfn killed it so that’s why we never got gw3
I understand everything about why gw players hate bfn but what i dont get is the complaints about the character redesign like in gw and gw2 the zombies look so small and their head is so big same same for the plants
