I liked the Gemini fake out. Well done.
That said, I think it would be extremely funny (albeit very unlikely) for Cedar Point to do their first hybrid to hybrid redo by changing it from an Arrow wood/steel hybrid into an Ibox coaster with a more extreme layout. Don't get me wrong. It would be a weird move and the park has much more important things it could do. But it would be hilarious.

I think S&S has more of an incentive to fix Steel Curtain than Kennywood does to tear it down. Also, why is Maxx Force, created in the same year, and operating with a LAUNCH, have way more uptime than Steel Curtain? Obviously S&S know how to make reliable coasters. The discrepancy doesn't make sense and leads me to believe that Steel Curtain will get fixed.

I agree, I see them spending some time and money to improve its reliability. They are still working out it’s quirks and issues. I’m faithful that Kennywood will eventually find a way to keep it running more consistently.

Maxx Force did have a lot of downtime issues in its first year but the park figured out what the issue was (in two-train operation the train entering the brake run would come in so fast that a large amount of friction heat would build up on the brake fins, and when it inevitably stacked due to the short cycle time the heat from the fins would literally cause the drive tires to melt resulting in a ride fault). Maxx Force only runs one train now and this has actually boosted capacity.

      (LONG COMMENT)
Me and my family go once every year. I basically have half the park memorized. if i SOMEHOW manage to run into you, I could show you around! Bat is a big red ride, like a blood colour. If you see VORTEX, go around to the left, there you should see a more kiddie ride, little carts that go up and down and it swings you around in a circle, (I forget the name, my bad) but it looks like a weird little scrambler. there should be a path to the left of that, and if you follow that, it should lead you to bat. I'm not 100% sure, I'll have to re check. The ride should be big enough to be seen beforehand though.
SIDE NOTE! - Canada's wonderland has multiple entrances. One leads to the "scrambler" ride I mentioned, around the entrance, This entrance should have the Canada Flag in small little flowers. if you see those flowers, you're at the right entrance. take the RIGHT path and turn right, then take a left. There, you should see the ride.
If you see BEHEMOTH, a Big, Yellow, CAMEL BACK ride, You're at the LEVIATHAN entrance, which is a big, blue roller coaster. Apparently, scariest one in the park, but whatever you do, GO. ON. IT. FIRST. Even the employees there will hype you up saying : "once you finish this, you can do ANY ride." and more. They truly are the sweetest people. If you do go on leviathan, however, Just a few tips. 1 - the drop isnt your casual drop. It takes around 4-5 seconds, making you get butterflies halfway down. Just be prepared. 2 - Leviathan's top speed is 136 MPH. This is over 200 Kmh. Be prepared for your face to get SMUSHED. 3 - The ride is VERY tall. If you have a fear of heights, do not go on it. 4 - KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN. Closing your eyeswill make it more difficult and probably more scarier. there are no loops or anything, but there are a few twists and turns, so I got advice to keep your eyes open. 5 - If you're nervous, keep your mouth closed. you don't want to throw up on the ride. However, You can let out a few screams. Leviathan is located in the SCREAM ZONE of the park. Just.. don't break people's eardrums.
Even though the employees say "you can conquer any ride after this!" YOU PROBABLY CAN'T HANDLE YUKON STRIKER. SO PLEASE DONT GO ON IT IF LEVIATHAN SCARED YOU. (Yukon striker is the longest in the park. It is the big orange one that has a 90 degree drop, hangs you off the edge so you're LOOKING at what's coming, then drops you with NO reminder, and makes you feel like you're cupping inside a bit, then youre sent into a loop. It is pretty satisfying to watch from the ground though.)
However, it is a very cool park, With (PROBABLY) 100+ sensations for all ages. and as i've said, you have kind and supporting workers there too. they may laugh if you scream too much though.
Canada's wonderland is in Vaughan, Ontario, Canada. Enjoy your trip! (If you go)

I was just chatting with Coasternaut from the UK about Xcelerator being converted to an LSM launch only a couple days ago. We can both see it happening in the future unless there is some big innovation in the hydraulic systems to make them more reliable, which is unlikely. The LSM technology is certainly there to make it happen and I agree that it's too much destruction needed to try to give it the Top Thrill treatment. Supreme Scream is an obstacle as are the railroad and stagecoach paths/tracks. Knott's is a bit unpredictable right now. They have some big projects sitting around unfinished (Montezooma and Timberline Twister removal). As to Ninja here at Magic Mountain, that's a big dice roll, but I'm thinking it'll stay for a while. They just spent a fair amount of time and money doing some refurbishing and it's a good, more family style coaster which balances out the bigger thrill machines.

What do you think the main issue is with SC?

    • @JakeWerkmeister
      @JakeWerkmeister 11 місяців тому

@@TP_Recommendationscurrently? The issue is structural. I'd also imagine that the incredibly steep lift hill is presenting wear issues that were not anticipated. I've also noted that the 19 car has an odd vibration. Though, to be fair, I've only had a chance to ride this coaster twice during the last day of its opening season in 2019. It was closed until around 4pm, so the issue may have been it running cold. I came back around 9pm to ride it again, and the 39 car felt as if it were running much smoother and faster. In both cases, it's rather odd that a coaster with such a steep drop feels so forceless. It almost feels as if the cars are holding it back. On the other hand, when you have Phantom's Revenge giving you that running start into the hill that goes down the ravine, I may just be spoiled from the intensity of that particular ride. KW is my home park, so I'm hoping that they get SC's issues ironed out.

Generally agree with this list, but I think Six Flags is mostly done with hybrid conversions. If they decide to overhaul Boss, they'll bring in Gravity Group to reprofile it with precut track and an inversion or two. Basically a glorified Hades 360 conversion. If they wanted to RMC American Eagle, they'd have done it already. Great America got a new coaster every 2 years in the last decade - American Eagle's out-and-back layout was never worth the RMC treatment.

Eagle ain't getting converted, this is from someone who used to work at the park. The issue with the coaster stems from the helix not being structurally sound enough to run two trains (the whole thing is basically built on top of a marsh which hasn't been good for the foundation), and nothing RMC or GCI can do can fix that. The park is planning to keep alternating which side is open on a year basis until the ride is clearly too old to keep going. Additionally, I think this is more common knowledge but RMC Eagle almost happened in 2014 but the park shot it down because they didn't like the price tag, so Goliath was built instead.

I've heard from SF employees that American Eagle has significant restrictions due to road ROW proximity and passing over a road with supports right next to the pavement. It presently has a grandfather status that prevents anything more than minor maintenance. Any improvements will be a significant challenge. Perhaps a steel structure can solve the road ROW proximity issue. That being said, I would LOVE to see an RMC version that replaces the giant 540 degree helix with an overbanked track.
One of my fondest memories of American Eagle was riding the Blue Train backwards in row 1. As usual, the Blue Train beat the Red Train to the helix, but during those 540 degrees we got to look every rider in the face as the Red Train passed us on the shorter inside track.

Corkscrew s likely staying until some eventual structural issue that is costly forces CP to remove it. It has nothing to with firsts or records. Vortex got taken from KI, b/c of a structural issue on an old, low popularity coaster, that wasn't worth it to fix. The reason that CP will likely keep corkscrew is that its location is not really conducive to add another coaster to replace it. It's a long thin plot that goes over a midway. The coasters that fit the plot are not things CP would really buy.

Brandon, I like where you're coming from with Xcelerator, but I think they'll go about it differently-they'll turn around the trains and put 2 launches in. They will have to reprofile the turns but after the second one it would be heading up the tower, and they might be able to fit in a spike that way; if not it would then shoot over and then coast to a stop on the current launch track. The combined Flashback/Goliath plot at Six Flags New England would be *perfect* for one of those new Vekoma Super Boomerangs, like the one Six Flags is building at Great Adventure. It even has a nice story to go with it: the old Boomerangs give way to the new! It'd be the launch coaster New England needs as well.
A while back, I proposed that a PowerSplash might go in there, but I agree with Airtime Thrills that that's unlikely. People have proposed all sorts of other things--a B&M mini-dive, an S&S air-launch coaster, a Gerstlauer Infinity, an RMC single rail--and all of those could happen, but the more I think about it, the more I think a Super Boomerang is the obvious choice, and one that Six Flags already has some history with.

The corkscrews caused my head to bang from side to side on the shoulder restraints. the other parts of it wasn’t all that exciting, it’s trains were pretty small in leg room and I have no idea why it is like that. They should definitely get rid of this ride and replace it with that rmc trex in the near future. I bet that would be much more fun than corkscrew. I think Six Flags Great Adventure will remove or redesign Green Lantern because I think everybody who rides this ride does not in someway get their head banged. People have complained about getting headaches or ears ringing after riding this ride. This ride is so bumpy and shaky that having something hurting after riding this ride is unavoidable. This ride has very low ridership because people know the roughness of the ride and people would make a B-Line for Superman instead I could see Green Lantern get the Mantis treatment which is now Rougarou at CP. Maybe Six Flags Great Adventure will at least give Green Lantern new track. I could also see them building a whole new Standup or Standup Twister coaster that goes over the parking lot for some part of the ride.

Some thoughts for the algorithm. I love the Boss layout and would like it to get retracked by the Gravity Group. RMC could make this a crazy ride, but this is a wooden coaster I want to stay wooden. I won't be too upset if RMC does get their hands on it though.
As a hater of wild mouse coasters I would support the removal of Wild Mouse. The water park is in a bad location so it would be great if it was relocated if possible. That would really open up space.
I would hate to see SFMM remove Ninja. It's a fun ride and a good stepping stone. Unless Ninja is replaced with another thrill coaster it wouldn't make sense to remove it since the park is has a lot of intense coasters.
I don't get why the talk of RMC American Eagle still persists. If SFGAm wanted to go that route they would have instead of building Goliath. I know SFNE had Flashback and Goliath next to each other, but it's highly unlikely for SFGAm to have Goliath and RMC AE next to each othet.
I really like HRRR and don't get the hate. I don't know anything about its reliability and its had little downtime every time I've been to USF. I hope HRRR is around longer, but if it goes soon then I hope the replacement is even better.

As for Carowinds, they've received some of the largest coaster investments from Cedar Fair in the past decade. But I think they're going to take it slower in the 20s, especially if Copperhead Strike hasn't generated the ROI they expected. Assuming a Mack PowerSplash isn't happening, we might see a mid-sized Mack Water Coaster for 2025 on part of the Dinos Alive plot. This would fill an overdue family coaster niche, and within 3 years, I could see them replace Flying Cobras with a Zamperla Double Heart. They urgently need a coaster that's about 150 feet tall, and the Boomerang plot is perfect for it. I'm skeptical Hurler would be RMC'd before a ground-up woodie is built, though, and it seems likely the spares they received from Firehawk could keep Nighthawk operational through 2030. In an optimistic timeline, Carowinds might get a GCI in the front of the park around 2030. But if a B&M Dive is to replace Nighthawk and Vortex as anticipated, that'll probably come later.

Steel Curtain is the one prediction I just can't get behind. Kennywood and S&S have more incentive to fix it than to remove it.

CCMR fills a very important role as a beginner "big kid ride" for families due to its low height restriction and less intimidating appearance. It's definitely an important ride that the park wishes to keep.

11:22 I’m thinking Demon at SFGAm gets removed before Eagle.

Don’t talk like that!!! Lol. I love Demon, especially the corny 80’s music, but I’m probably the only one! 😂

@@collegeluvr I know some people love the jankiness of the old Arrow coasters but I'm not one of them.

One correction- Nighthawk is actually popular at Carowinds. It has the longest line in the park every day it is open. Now it isn't popular with you or myself, but the GP will ride so I think as long as they can keep it operating and don't have a bigger thing for that plot of land, it will be around. Way more popular than Vortex or Carolina Cyclone or Hurler.
In terms of your selections, I agree with most of your selections. Boss and american Eagle are probably the two I'm on the other side about. I don't think Eagle gets RMCd with Goliath in the park. If they need the land for something else they will take it down but remember GAm is the park that saved Whizzer so those guest like their historic coasters. As far as Boss, I don't see them making the change to RMC it. I think they remove the boomerang or Ninja before the RMC Boss.
As far as some of your takes, I think it is a real possibility a coaster like Steel Curtain could get removed over the next 6 years if things don't improve. I also tend to agree with you about XCelerator. These parks can't have one of their top attractions down for that long of a time.
It will be disappointing to see RailBlazer go but they really should just give it to Michigan's Adventure.

Nighthawk was down all last season and now it’s down for the next 6 months. They need to get rid of it if they can’t keep it open.

Nighthawk and Batwing are the last ever roller coasters of their kind. If Nighthawk goes, Batwing will become and endling. There are only two operating Vekoma Flying Dutchmans ever created left in the entire world, and it would suck for this type of roller coaster to go extinct so soon. It's not about the enjoyment, but to preserve the tiniest piece of its remaining legacy for a few more years to come.

5:42 and the fact that ninja e-stops it’s self at least twice a day when it is open (which is rare0 doesn’t help Ninja either.

I really wish RMC Boss would happen in 2024 because I go that way quite a bit but probably won't after 2024 honestly I plan on settling down and getting married and having kids, in Michigan. CP and Michigan Adventure being my home parks per se even though they're not really close to home.
