    I built up a 1985 Horton Ambulance Box and applied it to a retired 2009 E450 Factory Ambulance Chassis. Very pleased with the performance and usefulness for my Triplegic Wife. I too added a Backup Camera and since you can't see behind and to the Right of the Ambulance I placed a Backup Camera on the Right Rear side of the Ambulance Body, up high by the Lights pointed outward. I powered them up from the Backup Lights. Really helps for the blind spots!

    On these emergency vehicles they cut the horn wires usually in the wire loom near the bottom or just past the steering column and the wires go to the siren control so when going Code three you can hit the horn button and activate the siren ,That is what they call a horn ring , I worked for The California Department of Forestry and fire protection doing these installations for over 20 years ,Maybe you figured the horn out by now ,If you find the cut wires in the loom you can splice them back and the horn should work again from the steering wheel ,

    Wow! I pressed play to see your bed set up and heard you say that Your ambulance came from Arkansas, I'm from Crossett, Arkansas...lol
    My question is what is the square footage of the area that you sleep in?
    Because I was going to buy a window unit, but wasn't ready to cut into my ambulance. So I ordered a portable evaporative cooler. That cools 175 square feet. My next thing if that don't keep me cool at night, I was gonna purchase a portable air conditioner and run the hose through the oxygen tank compartment.

    • @TheCampulanceMan
      @TheCampulanceMan  4 роки тому

      Yes, I found my truck in Arkansas on Craigslist! Be careful with the portable AC units as they use A LOT of power to cool (not so great). My house is 12' x 6' x 7' and the 5000btu AC can cool it to 65 on a mid 90 degree day.
