Elvis won 3 grammys for his Gospel Albums. Other gospel songs Take My Hand Precious Lord,You'll Never Walk Alone, He Touched Me,Lead Me Guide Me,Who Am I,Peace In The Valley( the one he sang on Ed Sullivan show Back in mid 50s) Also Where No One Stands Alone n Dont Cry Daddy( his daughter Lisa sang these as duets with her daddy. When Elvis died She was only 9 n now in her 50's She wanted to share duets with her daddy. I enjoy your reaction. I have been a fan of Elvis since 1956 n saw him only once in 1973 Hawaii 3rd row center n was 21 n went crazy. Thank you for keeping ELVIS MUSIC alive
Elvis came on the scene in 1956--he had a huge range of songs--there are few that could match him, and a lot of them did try to sound like him. One of his best songs is I want You, I need You, I love You. I believe the flip side was Heartbreak Hotel. I Had just started high school in September of '56 and of course he was the rage. All school dances featured many of his great love songs as well as the rockin kind. Those were great years and doo wop was also being widely played on the radio stations. Loved your reaction. Cathy
This was a song done at every Billy Graham revival meeting. The definitive version is by George Beverly Shae 1969. Elvis has several gospel albums. No one does it better. He also has several Christmas albums.
Gospel music was his first love. When he appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show in NY he promised his mother he would sing a gospel song for her that night, and he did. Never be anyone again that will be able to touch the soul & hearts of people as he did.
I've only heard a few of his gospel songs this has to be one of the best his voice was powerful his backing singers were JD Summers and the Stamps plus the Sweet Inspiration great of course that's why Elvis is the Goat stay safe 😷✌💖
Elvis loved his Gospel music. and the only one I've heard come close to this live performance is Carrie Underwood with Vince Gill.. Elvis could sing the dang phonebook back in the day and make it sound amazing. We don't have phonebooks anymore lol.. but I hope you understand the reference.
Only Elvis could pull off singing gospel in the middle of a rock and roll concert! I don't hear much abt that from people, but from what I understand, he frequently did add a gospel song in
Nice reaction, you should check out the '77 version filmed by CBS. He blows the roof off the place. Don't have to react to it if you don't want to. PEACE!
He's in the Gospel Hall of Fame. To me, no one can sing gospel better than Elvis. Good one man.
Alan Jackson can sing some great Gospel too
This is one of the greatest gospel songs ever written.
Elvis was and is also the King of gospel
The greatest voice ever. 👑❤🙏
"Thank you Elvis "
