I’m not too sure what to make of the difficulty on this quiz. I know that if I were to do it for the first time, I’d probably get frustrated at how many songs I recognise, but don’t actually know the name of! I still enjoyed making it though and hopefully it’s still lots of fun 😊
There were lots of songs where I could identifiy the artis but couldn't name the song. Fairly difficult quiz but was great fun which is what matters. In terms of 'is it folk or not' it doesn't really matter, it's a you tube quiz! 🙂
That was really enjoyable, I knew we should've kept score! We did get quite a lot but missed Woodie Guthrie (even *we're* not that old 🤣) I adore Jim Croce but I wasn't quick enough to get that one😭 Really interesting quiz though, we appreciate the work that goes into it 😊 👍
@noonthumbs2644 🤣 I would be seriously impressed if anybody actually remembers Woody Guthrie! Thank you very much, its always so nice getting positive feedback and I'm glad you're still enjoying them 😊
Nice quiz! There were a few where I got title and artist right off the bat, but far too many that I could hum along with but couldn't get to a title. I did get Woody Guthrie, though--not because I'm that old, just because he was huge in his day and songs like This Land Is Your Land are iconic.
@tuxedojunction9422 being able to hum along with but can't get to the title I think is a good way to sum up this quiz. And I'm glad at least somebody justified the Woody Guthrie inclusion, so thank you 😁
Never heard of First Aid Kit!!, or the Dead South,, I didn't know the Steve Earle one though I know Copperhead Rd by him. Didn;t get Jim Croce though I know others by him. Wonder what happened to Badly Drawn Boy? I didn't get Dan Fogelberg either. Woody Guthrie , not a clue. LOL. I'm not that old ... Loved Horse with no Name, I was 5 when that came out
Got a lot more than I thought on that one (which still isn't all that many). Recognised the artists more than the songs. Another album recommendation: Bridge Over Troubled Water. Probably thought of as being a little dated now but was way ahead of its time in 1969!
@@SHQuiz This is definitely true! I love the old blues stuff from the 40s/50s. Fun fact: So did Jimmy Page. He did forget to credit the original artists though, which cost the band millions. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Led_Zeppelin_songs_written_or_inspired_by_others

26/80 (+3) interesting one but we struggled.
I know the feeling!
I enjoyed your quiz. I am 71 and I am not familiar with folk-rock songs of the last 25 years, many of them are very good. Thank you very much
@@nurselibby96 thank you very much, that's very kind of you to say

31 for us 😊 Thanks, as always 😊
@rachaeltrevorlyes9541 thank YOU!

@julieblackstock8650 I think your message has just perfectly summarised the variety in Folk Music!
That's a good thought about Badly Drawn Boy 🤔

It's another great album, that one I have listened to numerous times. Sometimes, in fact often, the 'dated' stuff is just better, in my opinion!

Some of these took me way back!
Of the ones you had here, 'In Hell I'll Be in Good Company' by Dead South is my absolute favorite.
@@estherwolf110 it's such a fantastic song!
