- Psalm 76 celebrates a great victory of God on behalf of His people, and those who connect it with the defeat of Sennacherib (Isaiah 37:36) attribute Psalm 76 to a later Asaph, or to someone who was the literal or spiritual descendant of the Asaph of David and Solomon’s time.

I think what the psalmist meant by "mountain" is world kingdoms and governments, judges.
We hope for our government, and our justice system to render our plea for justice.
God is more glorious than those mountains in answering the prayer and pleas for the justice of His people.

Thank you for that teaching. You help me to understand words that just seem confusing to my ears in 2022. It also helps to bring pointers in the psalms to Jesus. There is so much that is hidden, that we need teachers who study and research scripture, and read other commentaries to share what they have learned, and what is not just their opinion.
