Aloha Kelly! All excellent shades of my favorite color - RED! Regarding you question about what inks I have swatched thus far, I am a little reluctant to say! Actually I don't have a ton of ink and many are your "core" colors (I even have the Monteverde Core set!) or the ones that are widely recommended like Oxblood, Ancient Copper and Apache Sunset, which I believe I have a bad batch as it's super light in color, nothing like the sample I tried. The only shimmer ink I have is Stormy Gray - I was once on a quest to find a pencil substitute and may have found it with Lexington Grey in a Wing Sung 6359. I have a few black inks, but always ask myself - WHY!? I just bought a few more inks, once again mostly "normal" inks, so still working on inking up pens. I like to do the swatch cards and swatching on Tomoe River with a pen (various pens currently), so I get a better idea of how it will look in an actual pen, although since I am using various pens and nib sizes, it's not very scientific! So my process means I am only doing a few inks at a time. I just use q-tips for the swabs. Mahalo, Thomas
@KauaiPhotography Yes, it is certainly a process. My happy medium is doing 5 inks per sesh, but sometimes it's more & sometimes it's less.
