Before Walt Disney made Mickey Mouse, I believe he worked with a distributor and production company to make Oswald cartoons. Disney was young and didn't understand IP laws. When he wanted to strike out on his own, they told him he didn't own the IP rights to Oswald. If I remember correctly from the game, it's told from Oswald's point of view and he's jealous of the success that Mickey had. It's not that Mickey is really evil, it's just supposedly Oswald's point of view
Fun fact: Gus and calvin are from a cancelled film where gremlins build planes called gremlins. In fact a lot of stuff in this game is from cancelled and unused disney stuff, and stuff thats no longer used by disney.
Looney toons had a similar looking gremlin that ended up wrecking planes bugs bunny flew during the WW2 propaganda cartoons as well. Wonder if they got the idea from that or how that worked.

I love Mickeyjunk Mountain - Oswald the Lucky Rabbit built this world for all the forgotten characters but was so selfless he never thought to build one for himself, so he holes up in a huge pile of merchandise displaying the mouse who replaced him decades ago. His prized possession a single Oswald plushy in a glass case, the only piece of merchandise he ever got. But he's still refusing to hold it against Mickey, even building him a place for himself for when HE gets forgotten, not out of spite or smugness IIRC but knowing he'll need somewhere to go.

Yeah, dude, that old Fantasia movie was/is a wild ride. That sinister opening always freaked me out as a kid, but not too much to where I would cover my eyes or turn it off. The SNES game reference, "The Magical Quest featuring Mickey Mouse" is actually a really great game you guys should play. It has a lot of variety to it, in that you gain different "costumes" like the magician and mountaineer or the firefighter. The game includes a multitude of mechanics involving each of the "powers" Mickey gets. From cooling down a fiery boss with the firefighter, blasting a boss with magic, or flinging around while clinging to rocks as a boss beats down on you with ferocious winds. The last few levels combine all the elements flawlessly. Aside from the bosses, the world's you traverse are unique and fun, involving new tricks and traps. You can use a shortcut to roll down a slope on a tomato, or travel very slowly if your friend wasn't good enough. This and so much more to discover, It's all around a great experience. Please add the game to your guys list, would absolutely LOVE to see it!
I remember when I was a kid I went on that buzz lightyear ride you mentioned with my Dad. I told him I was confident that I’d beat him. He said he was a marine. I didn’t know what that was. The score on my part was quite pathetic compared to his to say the least haha

I was literally playing this when the video popped up! This game was big in my childhood and the remake is so good. The camera actually working is fantastic. I got to save the Clock Tower this time and it felt so good. It's harder to save the Clock Tower but he's very pleasant when you do it.
DuckTales Remastered would be a fun game to cover, one of the best Disney games whether you play it in 8-bit or the remake, but the remake is probably better for content given that it has voiced dialog and (for better or worse) added minigame segments.
I own Epic Mickey on WII and Second game on 360. I really enjoyed playing with the WII Mote. And part Deux looks good on 360. I don't bash older games that are Remade with current tech and current prices. I'll wait for discount when it's on sale. Too costly when I already can play. And been there done that.

I have been waiting for the rerelease of this game and I'm no fan of Disney these days either, but this game is one thing Disney needed to release in order to regain some of those like myself who grew up on some of the best movies, but have become disgusted with what the company has become. In some ways this reflects the reality of what has become of the brand like Mickeyjunk Mountain as very well said by you two. Just leave it to the OG Mikey going rogue to be a winner!
