Becky, I’ve been watching you and subscribed to your channel Just want you to know, I love you because I’m 80 yrs old, and watching you has motivated me with your videos and giving me an inspiration to me. I just lost my 89 yr old husband and you have given me the desire to keep going. God bless you and Josh. Congratulations on your new home. Lots of love and blessings to you both👍👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️🌹🌹🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🌼🌼
You two are a power team with your complimentary skills & personality types! I love it when a couple can leverage this to get things done & succeed vs being upset that the other person isn’t more like them lol. You & Josh are such a joy to watch; I wish you nothing but success in you new dream homestead 🥰
Hi Becky, put pinwheels in your garden and it will help keep moles the moles out. They do not like the vibration in the ground when the pinwheels start going from the wind! I usually get mine at Dollar Tree. It has worked for me over the years! Have a great day! Love your videos!!👍😊🙏
What a wonderful, cheap solution! Just genius; makes me (almost🤪) want to be able to garden again! (I'm 78 and live in a retirement community so not an option.) My patio faces north so only get sun am and pm. Anybody have suggestions of any kind of veggie or flower would grow well here? Bye the way have you ever noticed that only two types of people mention their age a lot? Kids and Elders! We are both so proud of our age. In-betweens not so much;)
@@kayerin5749 I recently purchased a greenstalk planter and have it on my back patio facing north. I’m in Texas so my tomatoes are struggling with the heat but my cucumbers and peppers are thriving.
Or get a cat! I had no idea I had a mole problem until my neighbors cat (that adopted me for some reason) started leaving them at my door 😬 sometimes 2 or 3 a day! I've also read that cats will bring you their dead catch because they think you're to stupid to hunt for yourself so I'm just greatfull either way....😄
Wow. As much as I enjoy your videos, Becky, I really REALLY needed to hear your message (around the 11-12 minute mark) about making baby steps towards progress. I've been struggling this year with both medical issues, after a really bad fall, as well as grief since I lost my sister in March--who was also my BFF and the last of my immediate family. I make lists, then don't complete them, and then feel guilt and failure and then the next day I have even more to do because stuff was undone. .Lather. Rinse. Repeat. A friend told me to just do the one thing each day that causes me the most grief...so I've been doing that. It does feel as though I'm making forward progress (book shelves are getting built and laundry is getting done and meals are being prepped). Am I racing to the finish line? Nope...but those small wins ARE making a positive difference to my psyche...and to my home. Thanks for embracing transparency and candor and being so strong that you can share your vulnerabilities. That makes as much difference in a life as knocking out 20 freezer meals. :)
My deepest condolences on the loss of your sister, grief can make even simple tasks insurmountable on bad days. I know. I try to do the 'just do 1 thing a day' thing to. Sometimes I get more done, sometimes I don't even achieve that 1 thing, but I have learnt that that is OK. Be kind to yourself.
If you put UV screens on the outside of the windows, it should reduce the amount of heat and you’ll still have your view. 🙂 They’re really popular here in Texas because it’s so hot.
That's a always a good idea, and the best part is it will not harm the plants if you decide to use that room as a "greenhouse." Red and blue light, what plants need, still gets through while blocking harmful and floor/furniture fading uv rays.
such a blessing to hear Josh whistling...you two are so sweet and hardworking. Thanks for sharing! I know it takes a lot of time to record and edit your videos. 'you make a mess, you clean a mess'....that is definitely a huge part of life! Blessings to you both.
The foam that says it's for windows and doors are made to not expand as much and will not bow your frames so both cans you bought were the right foam for the job. For future reference if you use a break-a-way bladed knife that can be fully extend it will cut the foam like butter! Total game changer! You can find the knives in the paint department at any hardware store or at any paint supply store. Hope that helps!
Thoughts from a person who just put in a new kitchen in my new home. Put in 2 dishwashers when you renovate. It doesn’t cost much more but it’s life changing for big cooks. One gets filled, turn it on and then start loading the next one. You have the space. This is the second kitchen i have done it in and i will never regret it. Love the show Bec
Oh yes 2 dishwashers are better than 2 oven! I have had kitchens in both configurations. If only I could have both. Diswashing has 3 options, hand, machine, trash. Oven you have multiple cooking options even bringing the pan to be cooked over someone elses home- not so with dishes! 2 diswashers are a game changer!
@@jnmMom3 indeed. With prices what they are..ate... I also do it for loaf bread too. When bread is on sale, I buy multiple loaves. I squeeze out as much air as i can and wrap them in plastic wrap really good. You could pull it out 2 weeks later and it will be soft and fresh. 👍🏽🤗
I do that with all bread. Takes minutes to defrost and is as good as the hour baked. You never want to leave bread out or refrigerate it. It dries it out or molds.
Over time I’ve thrown away more breads and rolls; each time I went to make something with a bread they were moldy! I then started to first rebag in zip locks and put them in the freezer as soon as I got home from the grocery store. Haven’t thrown any moldy bread since then!
My little 18 month old doesn’t usually sit still long enough to watch anything with me, but your videos are special. Makes me happy to share something like this with her. She’s going to be watching us build our own dream homestead within the next couple years as well 🥰
This is my favorite channel to relax and decompress, and having these videos every other day is so cool. I especially love cooking videos, but it's just your genuine personality that is responsible for this success, I think. Thank you and all the best from Poland!
She has quickly became my favorite channel! I love her knowledge and her positive attitude. Seems like everyone is so down and doom these days. But she is so inspiring
I grew up with shelling peas. I completely understand where you are coming from but I had some wonderful memories getting to know my Great Aunt, my Grandma and Mom shelling peas together. We would sit in a circle on the porch and we talked, laughed and sang.
I moved from a 2,500 sq ft house to two houses (we bought two to renovate simultaneously) and at one point I just 'couldn't any more' with the small stuff - BUT - I understand TOTALLY when you noted "I spent money to buy this firewood, and I don't want to leave it behind!" - I am with ya gal!
Hi Becky I am a retired empty nester and I terribly miss having people to cook for and with!. I love watching your show so much!! I make tv dinners, freezer meals for myself and trying a small garden. You are just charming, funny and interesting. Thanks for the fun
Because of u I have come out of my comfort zone and I’m going full on raised garden beds and doing make ahead freezer meals ! I am disabled and I can’t do a whole lot of heavy lifting but my husband made me some raised garden cubes out of old good grade pallets and now I have a bunch of tomatoes, zucchini, broccoli, cucumbers, green peppers and then I have two smaller flower pots that are my herb gardens! Im drying my own oregano, basil, dill, parsley, thyme and chives ! Watching u and ur gardens and houses it’s amazing ! Keep up the great work! Your friend from south west Ohio
It was always such fun sitting and shelling purple hull peas with my grandmother and mother. They would buy them by the bushel from the local farmer. We'd spend the afternoon sitting in front of a fan, just visiting and shelling peas. Lots of problems were solved during those pea shelling sessions. I was just a kid, but have great memories of this activity.
I say something similar to “done is better than perfect”. I always tell myself “it doesn’t need to be perfect, just better than it was”. And that really helps with the overwhelm of the mess sometimes!
I love that you give yourself grace to work on dishes as time allows. I have a lot more time than you do but I have always had a messy kitchen until about 6 months ago. I had a bad habit of putting off cleaning up until one day I just said enough. I cleaned out my cupboards and made one big space for large appliances used infrequently, got rid of stuff I didn't use at all and downsized my bowl and storage containers to items I use weekly. I would rather wash frequently than have them hog up space. I wash bowls and utensils as I cook . I run the dishwasher in the morning after breakfast so day use and dinner plates have a place to go. Usually I don't have any dishes to face after dinner or breakfast except to put dried ones away and dirty plates, cups and eating utensils in the dishwasher. I always wipe and clean my counters with water and vinegar as I go so I don't have to worry about chemicals contaminating my food while cooking. Also when I come into the kitchen if I see something on the that needs to be done my new motto is "if you see something that needs to be done, you can't unsee it, do it then." Has been a game changer for my mental health lol. Also I got a robotic vacuum cleaner to clean my floors. BIG time game changer. You have been a big inspiration for me, thank you for your videos!
great you can fiit large appliances in your cupboards. Here the cupboards are so tiny you can't even fit your kettle in if you want to. I ended up buying loads of shelves coz what 'housing' here provides as cupboards doesn't work. Even a bottle of oil won't fit. Yea believe housing...
I know, me too! But I think I would've cried when I got it all loaded up and then realized the truck wouldn't crank, 🤪 but she took it all in stride! Thank goodness she had her car there, and it didn't leave her stranded at Lowes with the doggies. Love love love your channel, Becky! I may be 51 years old but, I wanna be YOU when I grow up. ☺️
Not sure why they would take down the drywall to refinish it? We had moved into home like that and were able to mud over, sand then paint..never had to rip anything out..
That’s what I was thinking. We just had all our old water lines in our house replaced and they had to cut holes in the drywall everywhere there was a joint. We put patches in and I’ve been working on smoothing on drywall mud in a way where you can’t tell there was a patch. It’s a lot of work, and usually takes at least 2-3 layers, but it would have been more costly to completely re-do all the walls.
I envy your temperatures. It's 107° with a heat index of 110° here in Central Texas at the moment. On a positive note, after you did some of your dishes I paused the video to go get more tea, and you inspired me to wash two bowls I had used this morning. :-)
@@julieneises8851 I've lived in Texas all my life, a little over half a century, and hate Texas summers more every year. The humidity is a little better up here in Central Texas than it is South East of Houston where I was born and raised. Many of my relatives are in Louisiana. The humidity is really rough there.
No! I couldn't endure the sound of the styrofoam, nails on a chalkboard! You guys are doing such an incredible job of making this house your home. Best wishes for Becky and Josh, Debbie.
It’s so nice to see a couple who supports and respects their spouse. You two work so well together finding each other’s weaknesses and each others strengths. I wish you both all the love and happiness this life has to offer.
A huge memory from my childhood is my dad sat on the living room floor in the evening watching TV and shelling peas! He must have spent hours and hours doing it over the summer!
Yes you can buy a sheller for your peas. But you will miss a very big opportunity for great conversation and memory making! I have very fond memories of sitting on the front porch swing with my mamaw shelling purple hulls by hand! To this day, it is very relaxing to me to just rock on my porch with a big bowl of fresh purple hulls and just shell away. Remembering my fun times with her! If you choose to let them dry on the vine, a simple trick is to put them all in a garbage bag and beat them with a broom. All the peas separate from the shells and fall to the bottom. My 80yo father inlaw taught me that trick! And I have growers' anxiety too! And this is my third year as well!! Thank you for reminding that it's all in God's plan!
I really like how you roll with change of plans! You don’t let it get you down but find other tasks to do to stay productive! Thank you for being so cheerful and positive! You brighten our day!
My chickens got quinoa muffins this morning. They were rally racing with the cranberries in their mouth 🤣 Becky you totally missing out in nasturtium pesto & flower salad toppers! The flowers are spicy and you will LOVE them! Pop a flower and a pea pod in your mouth and it will be heaven🥰🥰
Please do not give your girls moldy food! It can be toxic.. One of the most common illnesses it can cause in chickens is mycotoxicosis. The most common symptoms include diarrhea or weight loss, leading to very underweight chickens. Love the trim!!!
Yes. I came to say this as well. Also sugary foods like cake really aren’t good for them either, but especially the mold. They can get very sick. I hope she sees this! Love Becky and her content! We are just trying to help! 💚
@@underthemusicaltree She is so enthusiastic and motivated to learn, I just love her. Reminds me of me when I was young!! She motivates me all over again!!! :)
Becky, I remember when the dogs were running through the grass and my first thought was, “Oh no what about ticks!” So glad they’re few and far between.
My grandmother used to say when you get a job done, looked back and it will thank you. I find that in my kitchen. If I can get one section of counter completely cleaned off, I can look back and it will say thank you for clearing me.
I was thinking the same thing too. It was in the 90s here today in south central Missouri and seeing Becky in long sleeves, I'm like OMGosh I'm sweating just watching, lol. At least it isn't in the 100s now.
I know... I'm so jealous as I sit here sweltering in Texas where they are making us even hotter with rolling blackouts to conserve energy. Just wild to see her in a hoodie in July.
When I was growing up, my mother was not fond of me grazing through the garden when I should have been harvesting things to bring in for preserving or our meal. Garden grazing is the best.
So funny when you talk about Josh noticing the details. My husband is exactly the same and sometimes I catch him at stores or other peoples houses staring at things.. he sees all these little details and it drives him crazy haha
Love love love these videos! Way more entertaining than anything on TV in the genre. Becki, your narration is a joy. You and Josh are sure going to have a gorgeous new homestead ❤❤
Love the longer videos!! My favorite channel on UA-cam. I look forward to seeing you and Josh's progress on your forever home. Love your puppies They brighten my day!! God Bless you all!! Love from Little farming village Brandonville Pennsylvania!
I've been watching for about 2 weeks now. I love the cooking and harvesting content, but I also love to see your cleaning and other chores! It's so fun to clean my house with you haha
Whoa 😳 Becky where do y'all live? I'm in Texas and the 100'+ heat is eatin our lunch.....I'm over it!!!! I'm ready to move to a milder climate. We get heat from March to October 100'+ from June to October I'm finished I tell ya
About the shelling Peas, my moms taught me that there is a membrane inside of the pods that can be taken off, and once removed the pots become really tender and nice to eat. I'm from Denmark so not sure if we have the same types of shelling peas, but it is worth a try!
Oh hun, fresh eggs! How eggs- citing! I just recently watched a video on "water glassing " eggs to preserve them. I think it would ve amazing to do that! How lovely that you have them to share! My hubby says a cord of wood measures out to a stacked pile 4'x4'x8'. We use roughly 3 full Cords of wood last year. Thanks for hanging out with me while I try to clean my kitchen. Yes Done beats perfect here too. Brightest blessings.
I've found using a serrated steak knife or tomato knife works great for cutting/trimming excess foam spray around windows and doors. Comfortable handle to hold, and gentle sawing motion works like a charm! Enjoyed the video. I literally said "OH NOOO" when that truck didn't start! LOL ~~M~~
Mom used to put out a blanket and set us kids to shelling peas. Nobody could leave the blanket until they were all shelled. Hated it at the time but now it’s a fond memory.
Becky, keep in mind that blinds will not only shade windows to keep the room temp down in summer, but will act as an extra layer of insulation over those windows during winter. Especially during those cold snaps we generally get in January here in the PNW. Large expanses of glass, even if they're thermopane windows, can still suck heat out of the room way too fast.
My grandpa was a carpenter and built my grandma and his own home. He had one of these sunrooms off their dining room and built it with a sliding door between the rest of the house and the room. They could keep it closed during extreme heat or cold to avoid having to heat or cool it! When we had get togethers the door would be left open for full use of the room. If it was cold all they would need was a small heater for the space and they could open the windows for the warm season if they wanted it a little cooler! They didn't have blinds or curtains, just the windows with the "blinds" between the panes of glass(not sure what those are called). You guys are doing such a great job on fixing the place up! And I gotta say, you had the right idea getting all this done before moving in! Don't ask me how I know😅 Love your channel. May God bless you abundantly!
Where I’m from, those type of sunrooms are called Wintergarten (winter garden) and they are typically built outside of the rest of the house, as an addition. So the house would be finished with a back/ side door and the (partially) glass wall start on the outside of the house like an extra room added on. That’s because they’re often built as an afterthought, but also for insulation reasons. If you don’t cover the windows/ glass walls it can get really hot in there. My neighbour actually used that room to dry flowers and herbs and sometimes other veggies.
Caulk vs Culk. Think of Australia - has the "awe" sound. C-awe-lk. Not that I'm OCD about anything, pronunciation included, haha. BTW - the flowers in your garden are gorgeous!!! The new owners-to-be are going to have such a beautiful yard!!
You should be careful giving your chickens moldy food. I have always been told it's not safe for them. I just love your new home, congratulations to you both.
It’s my birthday today, and what better way to spend it than to watch Becky & Josh living their best lives and sharing it with us. I get insanely happy when a new video appears - it really makes my day. Thanks you two ♥️❤️
You can look into window film/ tint for the sun room to cut down on heat without eliminating the view! They make all sorts of options these days that are attractive.
Oh, so much wisdom to sew on samplers, and all from one little chat in the kitchen! You have such a beautiful heart, Becky ~ thank you for sharing yourself with us all! God bless you and Josh, always! ❤🙏🏻❤🙏🏻❤🙏🏻❤🙏🏻❤ Beth
We have floor to ceiling windows across the back of our house, 8 of them plus French doors, we put in motorized blinds and it was the best decision we ever made!!
If you do by the croissants again, whenever we get them I automatically split them in half when we get home and freeze the other half. I know you mentioned freezing them, just thought I would share the tidbit of doing it right away. Even if they're just in the freezer for a few days it helps with us to not feel rushed to get through them. :) I've learned a lot watching your trial and errors. Thank you
Alright you motivated me! I sat down to watch this and you were washing dishes so I dragged my butt to my kitchen. Our well is currently being treated because it's contaminated (pro tip since your moving to a house with a well, test it yearly...) Sooo we're using water in jugs from the neighbors and I just didn't want to deal with my mountain of dishes. But I made a dent into the work while listening to this video and then I'm just gonna give myself some grace ❤️❤️❤️.
Hi Becky, whenever I buy Costco croissants I always put them in a freezer bag and stick them in the freezer. They go bad really fast as you discovered. Then you can just pull out one or two and set it on the counter and it thaws in 10 or 15 minutes. Love your videos.
I buy croissants at Fred meyer. I get 12 for 7.99 or 8.99. And then I make my hubby sausage patty breakfast sandwiches out of them. And then individually wrap them and put in the freezer, 4 sandwichesto a gallon size ziplock. Then I write on them what they are on the bag. Last time I bought them they had croissants with everything bagel seasoning on them. He loved those. I make the breakfast sandwiches with a sausage patty, different sliced cheeses, then I use my egg steamer that has a little round tray. And I scramble eggs and put a 1/4" of egg mixture in that round tray and steam it till it puffs up. And I use that for the egg in the sandwiches. Works great. I make him croissant, English muffin and biscuit breakfast sandwiches. That way he can grab the kind he wants out of the freezer the night before and take them to work. And then heat them up in the microwave at work.
I totally agree we all have things going on that we can’t control..I lost my husband in May I have a home like yours with a full garden fully stocked pantry’s and freezers Now it’s just me and all this food. I’m learning a new phase in my life and what to do with all this food as not to waste it..I hate waste too!! Take Care Bless you
The progress you're making is awesome. I think the sound of the dried foam would make me crazy. lol. And Josh,... you are doing an excellent job on your trim!!
That is so so true. It is so easy to get caught up in making progress and ‘getting it done’ that you forget to take time for yourself but I find the job will be done much better if you take time out to rest occasionally. If you continually push on to ‘get it done’ you may find that the progress made is not quite as good as you would like it to be and you can be disappointed with it later.
I truly needed that motto. Done is better than perfect, you are so right on the mark there. I recently had my alternator changed out on my van and had the same issue with it not wanting to start because it was down for a month. My mom had given me a NOCO Boost sometime last year and I had never used it before but decided that since I didn't have anyone to call to help get it started and I really needed to go somewhere that I would try it out. I can't believe it took this long for me to use it and it goes everywhere with me now. Total game changer for me, I'm no longer afraid of being stranded by the battery.
For shading the summer sun, look at what are called sun sails. They shade what is underneath them outside which can be deck, siding, and also windows depending upon rhe configuration.
@@tjeanvlogs9894 look at Harbor Freight Tools (HFT), black mesh, 60%-70% UV ray blocking, sun shades found in the tarp department. They have a "side" identified by looking at the tape with rivets sewn around thier edges; placed correctly they are better for shading but, you can't see in except for shadows at night either. We've used them ourselves in different ways but have also installed them at other's places. They work best outside with at least a little bit of dead air space; ends of eaves, hung over a roof and held in place by bricks, on a roof wrapped over 4"x4"s. But they dropped a friend's brightly window lit apartment's temperature by 20 plus degrees when hung as curtains over mini blinds and as a curtain liner over the big windows; warning the mesh is uneven and can't be used as a cutting measurement guide AND it likes to ravel so must be folded immediately and then at least hand tacked in place.
Thank you Becky for your positive uplifting words! It's a reminder of Gods gift to us that none of us are perfect and never will be and yet He has given us His unconditional love and grace! I so appreciate your transparency with your videos, showing us real life with real mishaps and mistakes and reminding yourself and us at the time to laugh at ourselves or just say "it's o.k"! Many blessings to you and Josh with your new home and journey and I'm so glad that you're taking us along with you!😊❤️🙏
My mom instilled in me that you clean as you go so you don't have a huge mess when you're done. I do this, however like you said it doesn't have to be perfect. I adopted the phrase "It is what it is". The sound of the foam made me crazy! I'm glad you did a voiceover while you removed the majority of the foam! The sound of cardboard and/or Styrofoam squeaking. I can't touch cornstarch either because it makes my teeth hurt.

We tint our windows .. Easy and it's so helpful UV..Heat
A serrated steak knife also works, it’s what we’ve always used over the years.
Helps me thank you :)
Love the show
Bec
Oh yes 2 dishwashers are better than 2 oven! I have had kitchens in both configurations. If only I could have both. Diswashing has 3 options, hand, machine, trash.
Oven you have multiple cooking options even bringing the pan to be cooked over someone elses home- not so with dishes!
2 diswashers are a game changer!
SMART!!!
Yep, I always freeze all the croissants and pull them out as I need them. They cone back like fresh. 🤗
Good to know! Thanks!
Costco croissants 🥐 for 1.5min in the air fryer 😋 it’s A game changer 👌
My little 18 month old doesn’t usually sit still long enough to watch anything with me, but your videos are special. Makes me happy to share something like this with her. She’s going to be watching us build our own dream homestead within the next couple years as well 🥰

My four year old loves watching Becky with me. She is so excited for the baby to come. Had to explain it will be a bit yet. Lol
Dzien dobry!
I watch it while I knit socks and t-shirts
I grew up with shelling peas. I completely understand where you are coming from but I had some wonderful memories getting to know my Great Aunt, my Grandma and Mom shelling peas together. We would sit in a circle on the porch and we talked, laughed and sang.
So nice that you made the conversion to C° Becky, bc everytime that you mention temperature I think "omg how is she still alive??" 🤣 🤣
I absolutely LOVE the compliments. "That looks great Josh" "Thank you" :)
"Don't let perfection become the enemy of progress". = ) Also, it's best to not stack fire wood near your home structure. Pests, fire hazard, etc.

Hi Becky
I am a retired empty nester and I terribly miss having people to cook for and with!.
I love watching your show so much!! I make tv dinners, freezer meals for myself and trying a small garden.
You are just charming, funny and interesting. Thanks for the fun
Same here...miss cooking for people but love watching becky im always inspired.
Is there in your area a possibility to share a cooking group? The benefit is to meet new people or to cook for your neighbours ? Wish you the best😀
That eye roll on I’m not moving this wood three times made me laugh so much. I so agree. I’m so happy for your success.
Yep the contractor suppressor a ride
I lived in Portland for 12 yrs and then moved to Louisiana. I have been in Louisiana for 20 yrs and I still can't tolerate the heat and humidity.
So excited to watch this new video!!!

…AND all the peas 🤣🤣
@@petpawteek8776 lol true
They were rally racing with the cranberries in their mouth 🤣
Becky you totally missing out in nasturtium pesto & flower salad toppers! The flowers are spicy and you will LOVE them! Pop a flower and a pea pod in your mouth and it will be heaven🥰🥰
You should take pix of your garden when it is in full bloom so you can use them for your real estate listing when you decide to sell. Gorgeous!!
Please do not give your girls moldy food! It can be toxic.. One of the most common illnesses it can cause in chickens is mycotoxicosis. The most common symptoms include diarrhea or weight loss, leading to very underweight chickens.
Love the trim!!!
I came here to say this! Thanks for posting. I hope she sees it!
I was wondering about this, thanks for commenting.

It made me so happy when you said you was ok sharing your garden with the bunnies. God bless you and your family.
You can make peapod soup from the pods from shelling peas.
Never knew that! Waste not want not!
Hey everyone. Have an awesome sauce rest of the day 🤗
You as well Lisa
You too!🤗
My grandmother used to say when you get a job done, looked back and it will thank you. I find that in my kitchen. If I can get one section of counter completely cleaned off, I can look back and it will say thank you for clearing me.
Since it has been around 100 degrees in Southern Missouri, seeing you in a jacket in the garden looks so wonderful!! Enjoy your VLOG.
I was just thinking that. It still feels like 107 (actually 99) and it's 8:30, here in Texas.
Sheer curtains work too. I live in the woods and we. Have sheer urbanism pulled back w
I love your attitude toward the bunnies. We have to learn to share, especially when there’s enough to go around!
Thr foam was like... Nails on a chalkboard. I literally screamed and had to fast forward. 😮😅😂
When I was growing up, my mother was not fond of me grazing through the garden when I should have been harvesting things to bring in for preserving or our meal. Garden grazing is the best.
I love to watch you just eat your breakfast right off the plant! Makes me smile so big
So funny when you talk about Josh noticing the details. My husband is exactly the same and sometimes I catch him at stores or other peoples houses staring at things.. he sees all these little details and it drives him crazy haha
Your husband sounds like a good guy
Love love love these videos! Way more entertaining than anything on TV in the genre. Becki, your narration is a joy. You and Josh are sure going to have a gorgeous new homestead ❤❤
I agree.... that view is too beautiful to obstruct with curtains. Also, I'm wondering what your doggies thought of the squeaky foam. Lol
Love the longer videos!!

I love shelling peas. I've shelled purple hull peas all day & loved it, plus I had a ton of peas preserved for future meals.
Honey you are a force of nature. You threw all that wood like a Boss. I love all your videos. Thank you for sharing your life with us.
I've found using a serrated steak knife or tomato knife works great for cutting/trimming excess foam spray around windows and doors. Comfortable handle to hold, and gentle sawing motion works like a charm! Enjoyed the video. I literally said "OH NOOO" when that truck didn't start! LOL ~~M~~
Yes me too
Mom used to put out a blanket and set us kids to shelling peas.
Don't ask me how I know😅
Love your channel.
Becky I learned the ‘pea lesson’ this year 😎 never again ... only snow peas for me! 🤣🤣🤣
It’s my birthday today, and what better way to spend it than to watch Becky & Josh living their best lives and sharing it with us. I get insanely happy when a new video appears - it really makes my day. Thanks you two ♥️❤️
As gardeners we all have that same anxiety about the future state of the garden. You are in the club
You can look into window film/ tint for the sun room to cut down on heat without eliminating the view! They make all sorts of options these days that are attractive.

Sheer curtains work. We live in the middle of the woods and have them pulled back most of the time, an done when it is sunny
I didn’t know you should let foam dry before cutting it so I learned something new today! Thanks Josh!
You didn't ask, but I would suggest putting vinyl planks in the sunroom. You're gonna have plants in there and the water may warp the wood.
I really enjoy watching the progress! I get excited when I see that you have posted another video! Thanks for bringing us along! 😊 Regina
I've learned a lot watching your trial and errors. Thank you
We are just beginning our homesteading journey; thanks for sharing your knowledge and encouragement.
I love how you respect your furry neighbours 😀❤
Hi Becky, whenever I buy Costco croissants I always put them in a freezer bag and stick them in the freezer. They go bad really fast as you discovered. Then you can just pull out one or two and set it on the counter and it thaws in 10 or 15 minutes. Love your videos.
We do the same with the croissants.😊
I LOVE and appreciate that you put the metric conversions up for the temperatures !! I don't have to stop and Google Fahrenheit to Celsius! 😂
They have electric and hand crank pea peeling machines and its makes the process and 1/8 of the time. Its wonderful!
Thank you for sharing the importance of Grace, Patience and Appreciation.
Your home is really coming along, well done on your progress, remember to also rest! Xx
What a closet!! That is great space.
THAT'S a closet? Looks more like a garage!
I agree. No curtains
For shading the summer sun, look at what are called sun sails. They shade what is underneath them outside which can be deck, siding, and also windows depending upon rhe configuration.
This is a great option for the maritime Pac NW climate. We need what ever sun we can get in the colder months (Sept to June)
I said the same thing with the bug! 😅 im like 'TICK! We get a lot of those where I live in TN
Thank you Becky for your positive uplifting words! It's a reminder of Gods gift to us that none of us are perfect and never will be and yet He has given us His unconditional love and grace!
