- A TRIBUTE TO THE RETURN OF NECTAR!
So after everything that happened.... when we lost the beautiful community of people that would come together with Lorin across the world & connect through one of the best musical experiences of the modern age; it was heartbreaking. Reguardless of the truth of the whole situation, I hope that Lorin has been humbled by all of it & learns from his mistakes. Cancel culture sucks, but maybe its what gave him the wake up call he needed. Everyone deserves a chance to learn from their fuck ups, and with his return I hope that he did!
Bassnectar is one of the biggest musical influences in my life, His sound design and blend of HEAVY & WAVY is inspiring and food for the soul. My first Nectar experience was in 2014 at a one time festival in OKC, I then saw him later that year at Decadence, Followed by EF 2015, EF 2016, Middlelands, Freestyle 2017, LAN 2017, EF 2018, EF 2019, & LAN 2019 (His second to last set before he stepped away from music.)
This mix is in honor of the return of Bassnectar & to the memories I have been blessed to make at so many of his events with some of my best friends... I hope you guys enjoy the mix! :)

@devanmiller1505 during my time in the michigan department of corrections we could buy radios like small mp3 player style and on the weekends starting at 9pm until sunrise a Detroit station would have a rave session. I was the only person who listened to it but I didn't care it was what I could look forward to and helped me find normalcy in a dark environment. It always helped crushing up a pill before I turned my radio on 😂

Wow unfortunately late to the party. The best days were 08-2014 before he became so big. Started selling out to political agendas and pleasing the mainstream fans instead of the og's. His shows were obviously still great from 2015 on bc the laser light and visual show was so grand but the setlists were nothing like they were before he cared what the mainstream thought of it

Nectar got me through severe depression and an eating disorder, so the music definitely has a special place in my heart. That being said, I'm trying to hold out judgment until the legal stuff is over.
I'm going to assume Lorin has a PR team that is heavily censoring/influencing comms while the legal stuff is still in play. OTOH, the comms/rollout from TOS has felt very scammy. But I'll wait until the legal stuff is over. It's a difficult and bizarre thing to grapple with if the allegations are true. It's hard to dismiss the benefits that Nectar brought to my life when I was at my lowest point over a decade ago.

Thanks for sharing these new bangers from bassnectars new album. Been a fan since 02 and seen countless bassnectar shows over the yrs, some of the best and blissful times of my life. I reserve any judgment in the accusations against him. This is America and I believe innocent until proven guilty in a court of law which we'll find out in September 2023..that being said if you've been on the edm scene/festival scene you know, we like to party and go hard.
