I don't understand the negative comments. This was the clearest video and explanation of the whole machine, from assembly through its different functions. I'm glad she acknowledged that she shouldn't have been wearing sandals and capri pants--closed-toe shoes and full-length pants are a must with this kind of work. But altogether a very helpful presentation.
I have arthritis. This works great as a weed wacker with support for me. And I can also introduce grandson to mowing my lawn and taking over when I'm no longer able.
Because of this review, I decided to buy it. Thank you so much. It's been 3 years since and I have no complaints. I have a small backyard filled with small plants and fruit trees. Since I don't have a lawn, I don't use the base. I just use the trimming function. I love it
I just bought the corded one. This thing is great. The cut is better than it shows on the video. For a small space like a townhouse, I couldn't ask for more. I got an Amazon Warehouse deal of $43!
@@BobtheBuilder249 it is a weed whacker that clips into a base. No blade. Without the base, it's very difficult to control depth of cut. This does a good job.
As someone who only has a small patch to cut, I tried using my weed wacker and my wrist was tired of swinging it back and forth, this way. I can rest my wrists, I don’t have a showcase yard, I have a practical yard, so THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO, its on my buying list with Amazon!
Thank you...I just purchased this lil guy and your video is really helpful. I had trouble pushing the shield in place just like you said. I waited until my neighbor came home to ask for help. I didn't want my bf to know I couldn't do it. lol Thank you again! Bless you.
This thing is a beast. I have used mine very HARD duty for three years now. I use it to trim around trees, hedges and small areas that I can't get the tractor into easily. I have trimmed around my wood pile after the grass and weeds have gotten out of hand. For the weeds that are too tough for the lightweight line to chew through, it will if you are more patient than I am, I carry a small pair of hand trimmers. Hey, to each his own. Whatever works for and suits a person is just fine. This is still America... kinda!!
I want one! This is exactly what I have been looking for... plus its better to keep grass clippings in the yard to promote growth and a healthier yard.
I've got a big yard with slopes I don't dare take the riding mower on. This thing is great. My arms used to shake after using my gas powered (two stroke gagger) for 40 minutes. This thing is light and no maintenance. Just what I was looking for.
I love love love mine...the landscapers do a half azz job around my fence and plants, and this cleans those areas up so nice...especially if you have medical problems and the wead-whackers are to heavy
I bought this just recently to trim and mow around my small flower gardens, and it is just what I needed. I do not have a large lawn, but yes, I still need a regular mower with a metal blade to do a satisfactory job. But for small areas, rather than dragging the big heavy mower and filling it up with gas, etc. this is great!
Bought this 2 years ago. I use it to trim and edge around my yard and then finish up with my riding mower. I have approx 10,000 sg ft of Bermuda. I no longer have the hand and shoulder strength I used to have and I was looking for an answer to trim/edge and not have to hold the trimmer. This works out pretty well. I do the edge work and border edging before mowing. She is correct about the battery lasting about 30-40 minutes each. Make sure you keep the line cutter sharp because when it gets dull it will not cut the line clean and the auto feed will unwind the spool as well as in deep grass when the batteries start to loose their charge. It takes me 2 days of about 1 to 1 1/2 hours of edging each day. I do this every 7 to 10 days during cutting season (April thru October). It works for me and I do not have sore hands and shoulders for 2 days after. If you have a small yard, 1/4 acre or less this is a great mower/edger for your whole yard. FYI I bought a 2 wheel support for my bigger, heavier trimmer. It is OK, but at times can be cumbersome and awkward in areas. The B & D though is a better design with 4 wheels> 2 wheels IMHO for those of us with physical limitations.
I pair this with my riding mower to more easily mow tough areas (thin steep inclines, thin areas around trees, etc). It is outstanding for that purpose. I wouldn’t use it as my primary mower though (unless I had a really tiny city lawn).
I love it, it's perfect for me and my wife. It works great for townhouses, front yard and backyard. I have used mine by four years and still works as the first day.
Thanks for your review, looking for something like this to take care of the grass around my son’s gravesite sometime the grass gets high when the landscaping isn’t done.
Thank you very much. Your review is extremely helpful. Most of my front and backyard is paved with small patches of grass. I have grown tired of big a$$ lawn mowers taking up half of my garage and fighting with it every season to get it started. Hopefully this should do it. Appreciate it!
Thank you for such a thorough video. I live on the side of a hill and needed something to mow the edges of my yard and some tricky incline areas that the riding mower won't get to. I really did not want to invest in another push mower and this seems perfect. Also, it helps me when I can see someone assemble something before I try it.🌻
This has been a great product for me for my small front and back lawns (I'm in a townhouse). So much quicker and easier to mow my lawn than the way I used to do it with only a weed wacker (I have no way to store a lawnmower).
Adding my review to this. I loved this thing all winter. It was fine for cutting both my semi small front yard and my backyard, where I could just whip it out of the holder and use it as a trimmer when I needed to. I'm one of those people that only wants my lawn cut though and could care less about a perfect sea of green conformity. In the summer I had to give it up for an electric mower because I used up the batteries too fast. It comes with 2 but I couldn't get through even my front lawn with them. I still use it as a trimmer and in the back yard. I really love it, just didn't want to have to buy 10 batteries to finish my yard in one day. Of course I live in a place where it rains and the sun beats down in equal measure so a couple of days after cutting my lawn, it's grown back.
Love this trimmer hopped up in lithium ...busy acting like a mower. It works great for my purposes. Did the front and back yard today and it worked great. Did everything this vid said it would ...thank you...much appreciated.
Super Great Video. Have been using this mower since last year and it makes mowing more like pushing a sweeper. It's nice and easy to move around because it doesn't weigh much. Have three batteries and two chargers so mowing can continue for a longer time span. This mower makes hardly any noise so you can mow really early or late in the day without disturbing the neighbors with the loud annoying sounds produced by gas powered tools. That fact lets me enjoy the middle of the day more because that's when everything is open. Mowing when things aren't open is the key to enjoying stuff. Plus i mow part of the lawn in the morning and part of the lawn at dusk when temps are cooler.
I've got one. It's great for small mowing jobs, especially up close to the house, or tight places that a regular mower can't get into. It's also handy for touch-up jobs.

Good review. You were very thorough in explaining what you get with this unit. I only wish that Black and Decker made lots more types of attachments for all of their weed eaters. You can buy tons of attachments for professional gas powered straight weed eaters.
That is so cool! I think it's very smart! Compact light weight, Easy to clean, don't have to worry about metal rusting out pretty awesome! Thanks for sharing!

This is great for the very small patch of grass that I have in the front of my townhouse that I'm responsible for. It's less then 10x10 so having a real gas lawn mower would be crazy.
I think this unit would be good for someone in the city with a tiny yard, but yours was big enough to constitute getting a bigger mower. The kobalt 40v or higher would be perfect for you
I've had one for several years and I love it. It's easier than using a vacuum cleaner on a carpet. For my small 20' x 20' city lawn it's perfect. One suggestion, however: WEAR SAFETY GLASSES!
Did it stop after every 10-20 seconds. I just bought a new one and it doesn't works for more than 10 seconds. Am I doing something wrong or is it a battery problem?
I planted cover crops in my raised bed garden. I want to use the chop and drop method to allow them to rot back into the soil. This mower seems like it would be perfect for the job.
In my front yard I have a nice lawn. In the backyard I haven’t put the lawn and yet it’s a new house. So it’s all weeds. Is there a precaution I should take so I don’t spread the weeds from the backyard to the lawn in the front yard??
Thanks for making the video! Nice content and hit all the points I had questions about. I'm buying this mower for my mother who has a very small lawn. Was concerned about the run time and quality, but It looks perfect for her needs.
Thank You SO VERY VERY much for this video. Mine arrived yesterday and I was intimidated by the instructions to put it together. Your video makes it so understandable and easy !!!! Not quite understanding how to adjust the height. This thing is AMAZONG. What is the bag of tools for (washers, tools, etc) ?
Thanks for the video. I would suggest folks never mow lawns in open-toed shoes though. This unit looks quite innovative and probably good in very small spaces rather than normal yard-sized lawns
Nicely done video and I give Black & Decker props for ingenuity...After seeing your review. I have determined that this unit does not fit my needs. So Nicely done.
Fantastic video. Explained me the pros and cons everything. I was suspecting that it leaves grass as I could not see a collection bag; but could not get this information explicitly from many other videos. I also like the stationary camera, which gives a better perspective of the grass.
You did a good job of reviewing this product. I couldn't purchase it anywhere but online anywhere within 50 miles. This really put me off. At the price it looked like if it didn't do the job intended I wouldn't be out that much money so I took the leap. I must say first that I have a corded 10 amp mower that does the job, it is getting to the point that I find myself wrestling with the cord a lot more than I thought I would since my yard is small (MHP LOT). I have to say that I am impressed with the product, it does a good job of cutting the grass and I used the trimmer some but mostly as a mower using the deck. I can't tell any difference in the quality of the mowing, it looks just like what I was getting with the corded mower, since I can't let it get real long or the management will mow it for me and charge 45 dollars for 15 min work. It gets around a lot of obstacles with ease I mow the whole lawn with one battery (1000 square feet).
I think it's a good idea for small yards, now for a decent size yard like that, No, that would pretty much take you all day and you would have to go over it twice maybe three times, depends how long you let your grass grow.
The thread will be used up pretty fast. They are used up in a kant trimmer, so in a lawn mower they will be used FAST. So the real question is, not if it works, but how easy is to change to a new thread, and how easy is it to get such a new thread? Anyway, for a small garden around the house with lots of kants, and no big lawn areas, this should work OK.
Thanks for this. I was looking for something light weight for my small lawn. I can't buy a regular lawnmower because I have 4 tiny lawns that because of the way the house was designed they are not easily accessible while carrying a lawnmower. I have to carry the lawnmower down steps, and then again I have to climb up a wall, then jump over another wall. Weird... I know, but it's impossible to do that with a regular lawn mower, I just can't lift it by myself. And having to pay a landscaper to do it is not an option at the moment. This seems like the perfect option. Maybe It won't give me a perfectly manicured lawn, but definitely better than the jungle I have growing in my yard now. This video was informative and well laid out.
Even though this product may seem to be the answer to a small "lawn," it's a weed eater on wheels, not a mower. The nylon string shreds the grass tips thus making them prone to disease and tip burning. Lawns are meant to be cut with sharpened blades.
guys she doesnt work for black and decker stop disliking this if you don't like the product shes giving a review and showing you how the results

Thanks for the video. I would suggest folks never mow lawns in open-toed shoes though. This unit looks quite innovative and probably good in very small spaces rather than normal yard-sized lawns
Very nice video. Thank you as I am shopping for one myself.
😁
Nicely done video and I give Black & Decker props for ingenuity...After seeing your review. I have determined that this unit does not fit my needs. So Nicely done.
Fantastic video. Explained me the pros and cons everything. I was suspecting that it leaves grass as I could not see a collection bag; but could not get this information explicitly from many other videos. I also like the stationary camera, which gives a better perspective of the grass.
Hi Arindam, thanks so much for the positive comments. Glad you enjoyed the video. Please subscribe if you haven't already :)
I love starting a lawn mower with a engine. The sound and the smell
Zman Hardin the smell of burning deceased life while killing the environent
The smell of the gas and the cut wet grass its the best part
Just what I need for my hilly little lawn , thank you!
You’re welcome 😀
Great how-to video!
Nice video.
Thank you!
Great tutorial! Thank you very much.
Thanks for sharing, Mike 😀👍
Thank you! This review is very helpful. I'm thinking on buying this trimmer since it looks perfect for my small garden.
😀
I bought one & used it today. I love it! ☺ And, I want to thank you for showing me how to assemble it. 👍
Happy the video was helpful 😀
Perfect for my camp site
I think it's a good idea for small yards, now for a decent size yard like that, No, that would pretty much take you all day and you would have to go over it twice maybe three times, depends how long you let your grass grow.
The thread will be used up pretty fast. They are used up in a kant trimmer, so in a lawn mower they will be used FAST. So the real question is, not if it works, but how easy is to change to a new thread, and how easy is it to get such a new thread? Anyway, for a small garden around the house with lots of kants, and no big lawn areas, this should work OK.
I use this without the base. My lawn has never looked better
👍
My Mom can't start a lawnmower or push it very far, it's too heavy. This is perfect for her for light mowing until I get over there to mow for her.
😀👍
I have the same gas mower and it does an awesome job cuts way better then that other thing does
Thanks for this.
👍
Even though this product may seem to be the answer to a small "lawn," it's a weed eater on wheels, not a mower. The nylon string shreds the grass tips thus making them prone to disease and tip burning. Lawns are meant to be cut with sharpened blades.
Cant beat burning dinosaurs, 190cc Subaru push mower I just got is a beast.
Very helpful video. Thank you!
