As someone who worked their way through college bartending and waiting tables, I loved our current system. I was making way more than any restaurant could afford to pay and I could make my own raises by giving better service and picking up more tables. Any above average server/ bartender would get screwed if we got rid of tips.
How about no job is below minimum wage and is automatically adjusted yearly on cost of living. Ban all tips. If a boss can't pay their staff they shouldn't be the boss.
It’s so sad because all the work other ppl do and they don’t get tipped. But these restaurant want us to pay their employees… I know many jobs where ppl do so much more than take orders and deliver it to a table (take that how you want) yet they do not get tipped. They need to start paying those workers and stop expecting ppl to do it. I’m ok with all of them quitting and going on strike. Do that. Ppl in all jobs deal with rude nasty customers. Ppl literally cleaning up 💩. So let’s be honest, there are jobs out there way harder than being a waiter/ waitress. Strike. I’m so sure that many ppl will get behind that. Now with all that said I’m a great tipper. Literally tipped over 100% in a few cases. But I won’t tip just because. No. So demand fair wages…
I can see tons of ways this can be abused. I don't see any reason why one form of wage earning should be exempt from paying their fair share into society, whether it be CEO stock options or service industry tips.
So glad that this conversation happened 🙌🏼🌱 hopefully it can turn into wider action

Many videos barely have above a thousand views.
Such a shame.

No tax on tip is going to be abused by CEOs. This is a terrible plan.
Cenk, thanks for all your work. Can you interview Dr. Bandy Lee about the mental illness of Donald Trump?

I didn't know there is a sub minimum wage
Federal workers should work for $2/hr + tips
Substand is minimum.
