As artificial intelligence increasingly affects the film industry, Derek Hui revealed the use of AI assistance in his latest works.
Despite AI's replacement in repetitive tasks, Derek Hui believed this frees filmmakers up to focus on creation. "During our creation process, we as humans should always be ahead of AI," he said.
Reflecting on the surge of short films and its impact on feature-length film, the director believed that it's all about balance and reiterated the filmmakers' responsibility to produce captivating works for audiences.
