    8850s didn't have Cummins V8s, they had John Deere 955c.i. V8 engines. Kinze made a kit to replace the Deere V8 with a Cummins NTC855 inline 6 engine.

    Way to much air in the 9630 tires. Run 8 to 10 psi tops

    Drawbar height, the 8850 was hooked about a foot higher to the 3pt. Not even a fair comparison.

    In Europe the roads that farmers have are too tight to run duals. That's why tracks are bigger in those places. If you have the room to operate duals or even triples are the way to go. Tracks are expensive to deal with.

      My tracks went to 8,500 hours before replacement. Tracks are the cheapest thing you can put on a tractor by far. They will save a minimum of 10% and probably more on fuel. Tires are for wheel packers anyway.

      +Paoletto Bg It's not a Cummins V8, it's the John Deere 8955 V8. The only V8 they ever made.

    The reason the 9630 lost is because he had a new set of tires. In tractor pulling, you don't want good tires...you want them to be pretty much bald, if they have tread on them then they dig and that really slows you down.

    • @Sean-if7rp

      LogicalProcessing That's true in tractor pulling and pulling on roads

    • @Sean-if7rp

      LogicalProcessing And the 8850 had big duals whereas the 9630 only had super singles

    • @hcsgmail
      @hcsgmail 7 років тому +6

      LogicalProcessing look where they hooked on both tractors. 9630 to drawbar, 8850 over a foot higher to the 3 pt hitch. In tractor pulling 1 inch will make a huge difference.

    Just goes to show that it’s not about horsepower it’s about torque and power to the ground. That 9630, even though it has 160 more horsepower just ain’t got the low end torque that the old 8850 has and then add to that, the 8850 has a lot more tire on the ground.

    • @datbomb98
      @datbomb98 9 років тому +3

      Dude it doesnt even matter because the 8850 has duals and so it have better weight distribution and ground force the 9630 lost with brand new tires you should be fighting that the 9630 needs duals not the the 8850 has bald tires

      Junk 13.5 in the 9630. That v8 in the new chassis and you would never hear of head troubles like the 9630. That v8 with 2018 technology would be 200 more hp then the 13.5 and still go to 10k hours.

      They were actually really good engines, used in other applications like forestry they served the owners very well and went many hours. The main trouble they had was that the engine was used as a frame in the 8850's and the stress on the block was to much causing warping and twisting and engine trouble/failure.
