If you're brave enough there are some templates on the mach-e forum for a hole saw so you don't have to take off the covers. It's a little scary but mine worked out alright. Also I found running the hole saw backwards actually gave me a cleaner cut, it almost 'melted' through and gave a nice smooth edge. It takes longer but you're only doing 2.
Nice video. I've had my MME for about six months. I don't expect to need to jump it for a few years. (My batteries tend to last about three years.). However, why even bother with the plastic access panel? Why not just toss it? Does it serve any purpose?
I thought there was an access port in the front bumper that got access to remote terminals for jump starting? I guess I will find out for myself in a few weeks (GT Performance).
Worst design on earth to get to a 12v battery - hated having to get it mine on my GT - not an issue anymore.. but Ford assumed ppl were not going to need much quicker access

I was told if you run the saw in the other direction you get a cleaner cut

Just for the looks. If you use the frunk, you might not want to look at it all the time
