I never have seen a video of a one gallon bag connected directly to the filter before. I absolutely enjoyed this video all of the way. I learned a lot from this video and it has totally changed the way I use the one gallon bag. Voted this video up and I am thankful to learn this technique. I watch a lot of these videos and this video is freaking awesome.
Is the long tube necessary? Couldn't you attach the Smartwater botttle to the bottom end of the Sawyer? Just curious. Thanks for the tip on creating a cheaper gravity system.
was that Sawyer Squeeze you were using? Mine came with one blue and one gray adapter > the way you set it up you did not need Two adapter you could of get by with one blue. Maybe iam wrong?
Yes Sawyer squeeze , I did it that way because in my mind it made more sense at the time. I’ve found that if the filter is at the bottom of the line it works a bit better. You just need a way for air to get out of the bottle.
This video made me very thankful for iodine tabs.
Ive never used tabs, I heard they taste awful. I set this system up to use for a group when in places like BSP in the winter.

Good tip a smart water is a go to for the sawyer system, their squeeze top bottle can be used to backflush the system without the syringe

Could do shorter but you need the weight of the water going through the tubing to push it through the filter
Can you cut the tube to length and just feed it into the bottle without the extra blue adapter?
Sure could, the only issue is keeping the bottle from falling over
