Gosh The Sims 3 is just so much better.. For the past few weeks I have been attempting to play the Sims 4 and around the 30 min mark I am bored out of my mind. I never really purchased Sims 3 store content except for the chick coop.. but there are so many more possibilities in The Sims 3!
okay but like someone made an actually cool serial killer mod for sims 4 so I'm kind of leaning on it. the only reason I really play sims 4 is cuz you can make actually pretty sims without downloading shit ton of sliders. plus less lag
I recently got access to Sims 3 and my store content after talking to EA customer service for 3 days. Sooooo much happier now. Sims 4... it's pretty... there just isn't enough freedom.
I've just started playing it again and it's great! I got all the store content for free online cause you can't really get it in the store anymore and i'm not going to give these people so much money for stuff that shouldn't really cost that much.
You know there's going to be a Netflix series on the books. im sure nothing will compare to the books even though I liked the movie but I think it'll be interesting
This would be a great town for playing themes. Like if you made the Addams Family or something, since everything is so grey and desaturated it's almost black and white.
The sims is one of those all or nothing things. Either you're gonna be spending a lot of money on it, knowing you're gonna spend a lot of time playing, or you're just gonna pass it up.
This is my favourite town... because it's dark and forever night. Fit for night dwellers like me. Nyeheheh~ But yeah it gets much better when you install supernatural and seasons with it.
I love this town because it fits with the expansion pack supernatural. That town is dark enough for many vampires to live in. I only get vampires in Midnight Hollow and I try have every sim in town as one.
My guess as to why the Savvy Sellers stuff wasn't working has to do with the way the engine is designed. Each lot is given a set purpose and it is this purpose that is used to randomly determine where the NPC sims will go during the day. Since you had all the stuff on your front lawn, the sims viewed it as a residential lot and only considered buying it once they were invited there. The other "stores" are probably more active since they are set aside as community lots, giving the sims a random chance to enter and use things on it. However, they are probably not that active either simply because community lots are usually pretty stagnant as well. This also has to do with the engine, since sims are assigned random locations to go to at random intervals, whereas in The Sims 1 & 2, whenever you traveled somewhere, the entire town had a chance to spawn and despawn while you were there. This gave the impression of more life in community lots despite the fact that very few sims were actually being simulated. The Sims 3 engine cannot use this trick, so lots are typically stale.
Now you see, I love this world. Mainly because I'm the type of Sims player that has Sims that are perfect for this world. It suits my favourite family down to a tee. I am yet to use the Savvy Sellers stuff, but now I want to try it out. Think I'm going to try it in one of the shops for rent, rather than from home.
LOVE your reviews, the only reviews I watch of the Sims 3 as you're very accurate and go into detail about what is good and bad about a certain expansion/stuff pack/etc. Thank you!
Open for Business was hands down THE BEST retail expansion pack for the entire Sims series. I miss those cleaning robots! The ones that cleaned up your rubbish and put out fires and watered your plants. I loved those things. My one and only wish for TS4 is to get those cool robots back.
I never get tired of hearing your Duke Nukem voice impression. I also really love your videos a lot. Your retro computer game reviews, older computer/tech reviews and sims lets plays are my favorites. Keep up the awesome work. :)
I just got Midnight Hollow and I’m amazed! Your reviews really got me intrigued and I think its awesome. It’s perfect for vampires like my sims, if they are smart enough to get inside and maybe not try to kill them selves by thirst. lol
I wish EA actually used a post-processing for the desaturation effect of town, so everything from the rest of bloody game will fit in, instead of being insanely colorful compared to surrounding environment!!
I miss making them! Wish they got the views, but this was my least-popular series so it just didn't make sense to keep it going in any real capacity :/
Totally understandable. It would suck to spend all this time to not get the hopeful outcome would stink. New content is still awesome. And the sims 4 isnt giving you much to work with either. Thanks for taking the time to respond. I still ALWAYS drop what ever im going to watch oddware and thrifts haha.
You forgot to show us the Golden Edition venue you can buy in the town and make and sell toys: "The Golden Ticket Toy Shop!" "Master the art of crafting with the new Titanic Toy Machine and own The Golden Ticket Toy Shop where you can build, buy, and sell toys! Available now in the Gold Edition of Midnight Hollow!"
Very fun to watch =] This has probably been said but the store options seem to work better on community lots. Even then it took a few sim-days before I sold anything. I've also seen screenshots from people that used lighting mods to replace all the "doom and gloom" atmosphere and they looked amazing! Town looks great in color!
...you DO realize this is not a review, yes? This is a plays. Rambles and randomness are kind of the entire point, ha. It's just me playing a game, that's it. Don't like it? Stick to reviews then.
for everyone down about how dark it is, go find a lighting mod :) burntwaffles makes some good ones, and they basically can give your game bright blue skies or whatever you want :)
You need to invite people to your home if you set up a store at a residential lot. For community lots, you need the shop doors to indicate the opening and closing time. For basic selling, you just need the savvy collection rugs, pedestal or shelves cause NPCs will just purchase from those, register is not necessary but optional for the feels and whatnot. Hope that helps!! :D
I love your Reviews. I watch them every few months over and over again. I love Midnight Hollow. It's the only town I ever bought. But lately it's buggy. Every NPC in this town has the same standard hairstyle und clothes, as if the game isn't able to read into the original clothes & hair styles, that came with this pack. It really annoys me, because I have to re-style every single NPC. Do you have any idea where this bug came from? I uninstalled the town & installed it again, but I have the same issues :(
If you want those towns cause you actually like them then to each his own, but if you just want more towns, you could download better worlds for free from the exchange, jmo.
AngelStardom If you want more worlds, there's a lot of good ones on the exchange. I have Setra, Cornucopia, Neverglade, Storybrook County, Evansdale County, Legacy Island, and a few others. I even found some based on Chicago, the Florida Keys and New Orleans. I just saw a video reviewing Los Aniegos that I will probably be downloading. Some of these worlds are even better than the store worlds. The best part for me is that they're all free.
The only way I made the savvy seller's rugs work was by placing them on a community lot. That attracts a LOT more townies. The problem with placing it on a residential lot is that no more sims seem to walk up to the lot than they normally otherwise would. Still, kinda stupid. :P
I kept Supernatural because of Fairies and their Auras, which helps other sims get skill points faster. I haven't really read what else is on that expansion pack, other than the obvious Supernatural sims.
Another hilarious video! I love your Duke Nukem voice; seriously, it sounds just like him! I love the toy machine, and the toys can be used, but only by children. Sims with the childish trait might be able to use them, but I don't know. Thanks for the video!
Great LGR Plays kiddo, really liked it :-). I used to do Let's Plays (not of the sims) many years ago and I am getting back into it again. Forgot how much friggin work it was.
Enjoyed the video as always LGR. You'll find that the reason it wasn't working for you is because you're on a residential lot so people won't enter your property unless they are invited. This is why there are a couple community lots were "for lease" or "for rent" for you to purchase them and set up store there where random sims will visit and buy stuff you (or someone you hire) tends the register.
I like how the sims team or consumers don't see that the pricing makes no sense. It's roughly $24 for a world, the OFB stuff, and new sims, objects, etc....BUT its an extra $20 for just a venue and the toy maker machine? How is that logical to anyone?
I bought an empty community lot and built my own shop. Sims were buying my items, no problem. I think you need to use the shop door that comes with the Savvy Seller collection.
I really loved your toilet shop 1, I laughed tons. Thanks. Now only if I had seen this video before getting Midnight Hollow. Its too dark for me even build there:(
i miss how in the sims 2 you could pick a blank town and create your own type of town, hope the sims 4 has more options for blank towns instead of using a confusing program to create it
Was Crimson Peak based on Midnight Hollow or something? The font for the Town pack is almost identical and the blood-red ground is just like when the clay makes the snow look like blood in the film!
No, not even close. This and Crimson Peak are based around books like Frankenstein, the Legend of Sleepy Hollow, H.P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allen Poe and the Castle of Ontranto. It's Victorian era horror or Gothic Horror genres. Plus I doubt someone as imaginative as Guillermo Del Toro would base his aesthetic in a pet project to look like a video game. The font is probably cheap to use and fits in with the "period".
that glitch with the lgr sim has been happening to me lots lately. so you just need to select him, go to another lot and shift click on his face bubble and edit him in the sim. or or can to trigger age transition.
I am wondering why the Super Savvy Sellers Collection didn't work for you is because its only supposed to work on a community lot at first. Or maybe it just works better there and not on a home lot
Open for Business was one of my favorite expansions for Sims 2 and I really wish we had gotten a full expansion pack like that for Sims 3. The store stuff is better than nothing lol. I still go back and play Sims 2 OFB all the time.
Imagine a Katy Perry Sweet Treats house in that town. Lol
+Mani You would see it from space
Mani that would be hilarious
Yeah. A place for the strange... It fits with the trailer.
The witch's gingerbread house! RUN AWAY! (Actually, kind of reminds me of that mission in Spookane in MySims Kingdom.)
MH is pretty much Spookane but more expanded to work on its own.
this is actually a perfect town for vampires and werewolfs
this aged well
@@baalhater2425 why?

in order to enjoy the sims 4 you seriously need a good imagination and a keen eye. It gets boring easily
I've just started playing it again and it's great! I got all the store content for free online cause you can't really get it in the store anymore and i'm not going to give these people so much money for stuff that shouldn't really cost that much.

Alexa-Ann Lozier omg you described it so well
Jimbo, the Flynn Family in Midnight Hollow is the Baudelaire Family from A Series of Unfortunate Events
Man, LGR needs to make a voice pack or two, because he really does do a good Nuke Dukem voice.
very Tim Burton
I wish I could play Sims 3 this smoothly :(
JDubss TV I know right my computer is shit
Same. Is 8 gigs of ram enough to run it well?
12 still isn't enough.
The nraas debug mod is very helpful for making it run better!
