I was OBSESSED with the lady who worked at the blockbuster ("The Yeti of VHS", in front of its Beta 2000 competitor) just the weekends. She wrote absolutely everything down with a blue BIC. Computer who? 😂 Her make up, her hair, her rings, but the nails, OMG the naaaails🫠🤩 and the sound they made when she opened the cases to make sure all was rewinded (paleo-asmr?). If she new that more than 30 years later sometimes I still need a metalized fuchsia with blue reflection and particles because it' s a heartwarming-safe mental place memory🥹... 🧛🏻♀️🖤
I'm 32 and I just talked to my children (13 and 15) the other day. They said they have never saw a vhs tape but knew what they were. Of corse I got my 90's box out and showed them .y favorite vhs tapes. All dogs go to heaven, and Adam's family, and my favorite recorded backstreet boys vhs concert tape. They were not amused. LOL love your videos miss Suzy. Love hearing camera man in the background ❤

I would love to see you do the “lazy gradient” with these polishes, Cristine showed it on her channel often before the release and it’s actually the reason I bought the collection. The neon green that comes from layering the blue and yellow polishes is sooo stinking cute and unique. I wanna do Nickelodeon slime nails when they grow out again.

Great video my dear Friends!! Kids today have no clue to what VHS is. I remember when they first came out. Before VHS everyone had to go to the drive-in or the cinema to watch movies. Now all drive-in theaters are gone and cinemas are way to expensive. However, I heard through the grape vine that VHS and vinyl records are coming back.
I remember pulling out vhs whenever I wanted to watch movies.
This is literally my favorite collection that HT has put out! The box, the shades, the formula, all perfection!

I wish I could do regular polish, but just the way I move my hands I absolutely destroy everything before I finish! That's why I only do gel. (flash cure each finger) I do love how Holo Taco looks.

The local VCR movie rental went out of business a few years back and were selling their movies for five bucks a pop! A friend and I went in and bought $200 worth of VCR movies. Unlike CDs, they don't skip or get dirty just like cassette tapes for music.

I miss the 90
I was pretty young when DVD's started being introduced (94 baby!) But I remember going to my local Video Zone and renting my favorited animated movies on VHS. They would actually charge you a fee if you forgot to Rewind XD.
Also about rewinding the tapes, if u hadn't seen the movie, you wouldn't want to watch it rewinding in case it spoiled something in the movie!

i was born and grew up just when era of VHS ended - we hade VHS from like 2002 to 2012 when we slowly shifted to DVDs instead, and around 2017 to USB and portable harddrives

It’s random but I get my cotton rounds at Costco too! They’re the Swisspers brand. My family still kept some VHS tapes. We had to get rid of them when we moved. It was kind of bittersweet.

You'll be floored at all the combo/layering possibilities. Yellow/blue = lime green etc. The lazy blending. Adding other toppers.

The "two thumbs up" line was Siskel and Ebert's best rating for a movie review, so if you saw that on a VHS tape box you knew it was Siskel and Ebert approved. ☺️👍👍

Omg i remember going to Blockbuster, wanting to rent a new movie and seeing the whole wall was already empty 😂. Redbox and Streaming took away that all excitement.

I love nail polish. But I hate the dry time. The first coat dries fast, but it always seems like the second coat reactivates the first. So by the time I top coat it takes an hour to be fully dry. I can’t sit still that long. I usually sandwich between gel base so the second coat dries just as fast as the first.

I love nail polish but I can't deal with the wait time for it to dry. I always forget about it or underestimate how wet it still is and end up messing it up or getting on something else 😂
I feel you so hard, unfortunately I wanna change my nails way too often for gel to work for me, along with the damage I do removing them impatiently.
If you ever wanted to try regular polish again, the two tricks I learned were *thin* coats, and sit in front of a fan after each coat. Two thin coats dry much faster than one thick coat, and the fan also makes a big difference. I’ll usually apply 3-4 thin coats for full coverage on opaque colors and it comes out way better than trying to do two thick coats and waiting way longer in between (if it’s too thick and not fully dry before the next coat it’ll just stay soft and easily damageable).
I’ve cut my drying time In half. I pick an episode of a show or a 30 minute UA-cam video for each layer so I don’t have to touch anything, paint a coat, sit for 10 minutes between coats, and sit for a solid 15-20 for the top coat cuz it’s usually thicker. That’s the only way I’ve been able to make it work without fucking it up.
The thing about not rewinding the VHS if you were a renter was SPOILERS! I hate spoilers so much and if you didn’t check that it was rewound before pressing play you could be spoiled so easily if you watch more than a second.

So I have a really big problem with my hybrid gel I watch your videos and I do the prepping but I don’t know if you’re supposed to have Primer and dehydrated but I don’t know if I’m doing the prepping right either so can you please help me because my poly gel is just not sticking to my nails thank you so much

Why wouldn’t you do the same with regular nail polish?
If you applied Holo taco nail polish and let it cure completely as in dry, you can topcoat it with a gel topcoat, and you will get a longer where out of it
My problem is that I can’t sit still for long enough for each coat of polish to air dry without smudging it. No matter how thin I apply it and how long I sit I get smudged manicures. Then it chips in a day. Polish just doesn’t work for some people. I have tried so many times but I just can’t accomplish it. I turned to CND shellac which is in my opinion the most gentle “gel” polish system. I would also love a HT gel or shellac collaboration.

Hello, I need advice on a nail problem. I was adjusting myself in my seat and the nail on my thumb blew off and took the tip of my nail with it. It was a month old mani so I shouldn’t be surprised. Anyways, it didn’t bleed but it’s very raw and it’s painful so if you have any tips to help it to calm down. Also it’s my birthday this week and I wanted a new set but if I need to let it heal that’s what I’ll do. Thanks in advance!
We don’t want to add products to any wound or open soar. I’m glad it didn’t bleed. Sounds like you’ve ripped off the hyponychium. That is the super sensitive skin underneath the fingernail seam if you will. That could be very painful. Without seeing it I really couldn’t advise putting anything on top of it because it sounds like it’s bare skin. But if you have a competent professional in your area, ask their opinion, at least they’ll be able to see it.

Cristine (the owner of the company) is Canadian. But the Polish is made in - and shipped from - the US.

You don’t have to buy the bundle in the collection box it has become more of a collectors thing really, people actually put them on display. If you just get the normal bundle it is less packaging but still transport safe.
I don’t think you’re basing this on much facts apart from a collectors edition you’ve seen, simply is pretty open on her faqs and I’m sure if you voiced this opinion nicely she would respond to your question in one of her q and a’s.
Also, these are jelly’s, not standard polishes, maybe not a formula you are used to so that could explain your opinion of the “mediocre finish”
