    Twenty five dollars an hour is a blessing. I truly believe Jake learned many skills from you Lester. There were videos where you worked along side Jake, particularly mentoring him with fencebuilding and other carpentry work. He learned organization skills, a strong work ethic, and a deep love for and understanding animal behavior. He's also, like you Lester, in that he's his own man. Look at how far Jake has come. He is so much like you. I mean that as a high compliment. Jake pays it forward, with Bennett. He works along side Ben, teaching him and encouraging him to learn new skills. You are building a legacy Lester. I have the utmost respect and admiration for you. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Stay blessed 🕊️🕊️🕊️

    Lester, you need to recreate that hay feeder using galvanized fence poles. The poles come in long lengths, but they can be cut to the size of that space you have in the wood now. They have corner fittings for making chainlink gates, use them to make 2U shaped barriers, 1high and 1lower, then they have fittings for connecting the poles to the end post(these are bigger and stronger and concreted into the ground). A tractor supply or Jacobs or home depot should have all the poles,post, and the fittings for the corner connections and the end caps to bolt the U shaped poles to the end post, they should also have the metal cement glue to glue all the corner and end fittings on the poles. Once you have the big end poles concreted in the ground,either right inside or outside where your wood post are now,there are round fittings you will need around your end post,4 in all, 1high and 1low for your 2U shaped barries, those can be bolted on to the fitting on each end of your U barrier. If I can figure out how to do it ill try to draw it out, on my tablet or computer and send it to you later. I don't think Tex can break through galvanized poles, as long as the corners and end caps are glued and bolted together. If you make it and he tries to push the poles up or down, you can always add another concreted in support post in the Middle of the front of the U shaped and band it to keep the high and low poles spaced where you want them, or weld them to a center support pole

    What about replacing the wood with a steel pipe fence around the current hay feeder. I am referring to the type of fence that Dusty Baker (Daniel Arms brother-in-law) has for his bison.

    Hello there!!
    What about putting a swing gate on your fence? You can open it when you need to give them hay, and then latch it shut when finished.
    $25.00 an hour is good money.

    In cities, salaries are higher due to the higher cost of living. Buying a house up north is much more expensive than in the southern states, and that's why many northerners are looking to move south.

    Hey, how about putting up a gate where you put the hay bale in? Or half of one on each side of the gap so you can lock them together in the middle? (Does that make sense?) - just a thought. Maybe a gate that is custom-made to suit how you would need it to function.

    Put a gate across the hay feeder area! It will be easy to open if you hang it right it will open flat to the fence so it's not going to make it any more difficult to access to change out the hay!

  • @AmeliaInMonTana
    @AmeliaInMonTana 10 місяців тому

    Hey Lester 👋, could you put a gate on the fence that just swings open where you feed the longhorns hay? You could open to put bale in and close after so they stay in. Probably only one bale will fit though. Only problem would be if they scaled the gate with the hay. Not sure if they would but I wouldn’t put anything past them. Tex reminds me of my kids, it’s not IF they will do it, it’s WHEN they will do it. 🤦‍♀️

    Lester, I totally understand what you said about how much you pay Ben. One other reason that I realized about how much you can pay him, is the fact that you don't have 50 or more people that you also have to pay, like most businesses do. To be totally honest, I would love to earn $25 an hour. But, since I work in retail, in order for me to earn that much - the cost of things that people buy, would have to go up - and things are still expensive as it is. You also have a quality worker in Ben - he really does earn what you pay him. There are far too many people that expect to get paid for work that is not quality work. I don't earn what Ben is making right now, BUT I'm blessed to be making what I am getting right now. People should realize how lucky they are to be earning what they are, because there are other places around the world that can't afford to pay their workers what most of us get now. Great Edutainment video & Ben did a wonderful job BTW 😊! Take care and have a gr-8 night 🌙!

    $25 an hour would result in double what I get paid where I am at now and the thought of just being around animals all day sound like heaven. As far as Ben's car looking like the abandoned one if anyone were to look closely at the videos they would see the tags are completely different.

    Hey Lester. Just a suggestion. Where you put the round bale of hay, why not put a Gate there? You can open gate, drop bale, close gate and cows can't get out? I know your thoughts were this would be easier as there would be no having to get down off tractor and open a gate but as we all know, things never work the way we want them too, especially with farming!! Looks great there!! Love all the survivor videos too.
