    Watching Corny’s journey from a partner to no partner, to a partner, and back to being alone again and again is heartbreaking. He just needs his own flock as turkey’s are extremely social creatures.❤

      But sad as he is totally ignored and has only gotten way worse. Started after Lester hurt his shoulder. Then Breean coming over an he started bugging for attention. Then Jake left. Eep getting worse. Then he started with Jamie and Lester bugging. Then LE did not now the history so aggravates and no patience with corny. Not LE fault, clearly i not watch videos when he was coming to help. Then all his kids gone, girls gone. And no idea why he always stuck in that driveway area. I have never seen him be able to get out of there. It just gets sadder and sadder. When he started attacking Lester. How did Lester not connect the dots when it had been going on for 6 months with the others. Lester would say he just needs squeezed. But then it started with Lester and gets even less attention. Now 3 pasture and the horses. Donkeys gone. I have been posting over a year now. But watch at night so nobody sees my stuff❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

    braiding a horse's mane was foremost a Native American thing, I think... A woman from the local reservation told me once that braids are a sign/symbol of strength for man and women, along with their riding horses in her culture. She told me that horses too young to ride are not often braided unless they are the head of a newly formed herd. But I think Uriel just likes to bond with the horses that way.

    • @sharongarrison8328

    Hey, Lester,
    &Jamie, yes, working with horses hair is a bonding thing. Anything you do with a horse is bonding. However, braiding the horses, then turns the hair , I'm going to use the term like" a rope." And then when they flick the tail or main, it actually hurts them. They also use their tail for communication and changing the construction of it hinders that. I love you guys And the way you take care of all the babies.❤❤❤ bless you and everyone at the sanctuary 🙏

    • @rosemarysinclair814
      @rosemarysinclair814 11 місяців тому +8

      Why do you braid horses mane if it hurts them.i know it's for show but I thought the mane of hair is for getting bugs off and cooling.rosie.😊

    • @ashleigh6152
      @ashleigh6152 11 місяців тому +3

      @@deannaray4837yeah, braiding protects and keeps the "hair" nice, but leaving it the way nature intended protects the horse. If it was supposed to be a gathered together or differently textured, evolution would've easily taken care of that over thousands of years.

      @LMHohrine what would u call it when someone hurts an animal? If they like the attention, brush their hair and tails, u don't need to hurt them for looks. To me it's inhumane to me its the same as someone not doing their dogs nails or neglecting their animals it's all the same whether it's ment to hurt them or not it still hurts them and they have been told how much it hurts them so it's not like they can say they didn't know cause they do

    I have owned a Frisian horse in the past.
    It was something I was looking forward to doing and my horse almost fell asleep so relaxed.
    Braiding the mane was quite a normal thing to do to keep the mane in good condition.
    Braiding the tail (which was full and almost reaching the ground) for the same reason and not having it full of dirt.
    In addition, when the braids were removed, the mane and tail were so beautiful.
    There will be different reasons for braiding, but wanted to tell you my reason for doing it.
    Happy weekend everyone.🧡🧡

    The title scared me. I thought it was going to be a video about losing Cornholio already. Happy to see he's still around to annoy you LOL. I love to see the curls in V and Buc-cees manes.

    Corni is getting in so much trouble roaming around Morrow Hill. I agree with others he needs a lady or two. The only thing something always happens to them. It's a bad situation. Cornholio please stay home! I'm happy it wasn't serious with the water running. Pig Trudy is always so happy when you bring her a treat or leftovers. Tiny Tim .likes snacks too. In fact all the little piggies probably like leftovers. I think Uriel likes braiding and I think the horses enjoy it also. I think he just takes more time with them sometimes. I think its depends on the person. In parades some horses have wavey hair, braided hair and regular natural hair. I remember though in the last parade I watched in my little town . In our parade the tribal horses on their horses had braids in there hair. I lived on the Nez Perce reservation. The horses with the states Posse were all just the natural look. Maybe it is some cultural thing but I also think it depends on the person.

    Braiding keeps out tangles, lots of people braiding. Look at the grooming that goes into the Budweiser Clydesdale

    Lester, we use to braid the horses tails and manes the day before we ever rode them in the parades. It just made them look nice. Especially the tail.

    Cornholio needs some ladies. He is such a handsome guy. I enjoy how Okie Dokie comes up to the fence to greet you. Jami, I use to do that to my daughter’s hair, too. That was before all these fancy waive irons that don’t keep the texture, either.🤦🏼‍♀️ Thanks for sharing your day with us.

    I really hope Cornholio decides to stay home. Another encounter with a dog would be devastating. He’s older now and those dogs are so big. Chia runs around everywhere but I’m thinking she wouldn’t harm Cornholio

    Hi Lester and Jami
    I'm an Aussie and when I had my horse I always platted his mane. It was our bonding time. So I don't think it's a Spanish thing.

    When I done horse shows we would braid our horses hair. Sometimes I would go out and braid to just braid. It would give me peace and comfort. And it would bond the horse with me.

    An answer to your braiding question Lester. I do know that the Spaniards and conquistadors used to braid their horses tails and mains before they went into battle. They believed it would make them go faster. It was a velocity thing, so I think with Uriel is just a personal preference And more about aesthetics which is very cool because you have to admit when he puts that saddle blanket on Buckys and gets those leg wraps on along with that saddle and has him go around that round pin he is stunning so it might be all there is to it, but I wish you would ask him so that we could all knowI love watching him work the horses his love really shines through and I believe that’s why they’re so good for him that they know

    In the uk we normally only platt when showing etc but Jamie is right it's a bonding thing with your horse 🐎 also look up the Spanish riding school horses Lipazanner, the breed lipazen is born completely black but matures to be white they are beautiful 😍

    Hi Lester & Jami. Lester you raised a very good question regarding the braiding of a horses mane and tail. In doing a bit of research it appears the practice goes back hundreds of thousands of years when horses were first used for work and transportation. It’s said that Europe started the braiding of the mane to keep it from getting tangled up in belt buckles, buttons, harnesses.. etc. they also say that the practice is attributed to the Elf theory. LOL.. the tale was not regularly braided unless was one of great stature and owned by someone of power and wealth. Then there’s Portugal that has a celebration of the Horse where they braid the horses mane and tail in some pretty fantastic designs which has been a tradition for hundreds of years.

    I think some people do it to keep the horse's mane (hair, lol) protected so it doesn't get ripped out on fencing or tangled. This helps to grow the mane longer. Thanks for sharing!
    Much ❤️ from Michigan 🌊

    Poor Corny, is getting him a mate an option? I know historically he has endured a lot of loss. Or maybe LE can break out the old KC flip flops that Corny used to love so much lol? As far as the braiding I would think it's a caretaking/bonding/therapeutic thing❤🐴🪢
