in reason i made a keyboard split in a combinator. set the xy range right past the pads' range on the nanopad. the combinator will take whatever notes are in one range and you can build separate instruments for that to feed into. then, do the same for the other side.
I really like this. I just bought a nano2 for my stepdaughter and am trying to help her figure it out. What's the best software for beginners on this? Any tips?
It depends on your set up but basically you have it sending midi to your favorite daw and go from there. set it up like you would a keyboard kind of. I used reason but it's been a good year or two since I've played with it so the details are fuzzy.
+thejulietcollective Hi!, thejulietcollective, great video i just get a nano pad for birthday, i usually use logic pro x how can do a split of the xy pad, any advices for a newbie with nano pad?, greetings!
I'm not really familiar with logic but most of it comes down putting the xy outside of the range of midi notes you're triggering with the velocity pads and making an instrument that will make one sound in one range and another sound in the other. And, just because the notes the nanopad is sending are in a certain range doesn't mean that it -has- to be that octave or anything. Just because you have it sending out c5(or anything arbitrary) it doesn't mean your program has to wind up playing a c5. The c5 could just be a trigger for a certain sound playing an octave or two down. I'll see if there's any info out there on your particular program that might help me make it more specific because I know this isn't a great explanation.
doppiaW take a combinator and make a split. on the low end I put a distorted bass and a two octave arp. on the high end, I put a random flanged tone and a delay. you can set up the xy pad to do whatever scale you want and in whatever range. set the split where you set the split for the combinator and then when you play the pads you get one sound and when you play the xy you get the other.
When a put two synth in a combinator (lead with arp by nanopad and bass with arpeggiator by reason) the touchpad for lead synth controls also the bass (I divided the octave for the synth in combinator parameters) Can i control the combinator without this interference?
When i see this guy and hear his tunes i get such an awesome vibe
Cool tune friend. I love the melodies and rhythms!!!! You should promote this video. It was great.

They're stupid amounts of fun. Also really visceral when you're tired of just programming drum beats with a mouse and sequencer.

after the driver installs, you should be able to find it in the 'control surfaces' tab.
thejulietcollective how can you have this sound? Arp effect? How you switch in double control of sound?
