Having a smart vehicle means everything " It's your shop window" I treat my van like my car it's washed and waxed regularly, black gloss alloy wheels and continental snow tyres for the winter. Good forward planning. I'd be looking at 4x4 vans like vw transporter 4motion or transit trail. Guaranteed to get about then.

Those look just right, and even if we don't see a flake of snow those deeper sidewalls mean you're less likely to kerb an alloy, which is always a plus!

I put some nice gun metal grey alloys on a couple of years ago, it matches my sign writing and the van looks very professional and smart. I think its important to look smart, creates a good first impression. For winter i got some winter tyres i get put on the front alloy's over the winter period. Last year i put them on and 2 weeks later it snowed and froze for a few weeks but because of those tyres i got to my job and was able to do prep work. So it instantly more than paid for itself.

I was in a VW van a few years ago that had winter tyres fitted and couldn’t believe the difference in traction and braking. For most of us we don”t realise how bad our run of the mill standard fitted tyres are in the snow.

Hi Marky Mark . Well I’ve finally done it and hung up my Jimmy Jewels. I just watched your. Video mate. Just back from having Christmas in Caracas Venezuela . Today 27th flew back to Margarita island where my Fiancée lives . It was 34 degrees and a lovely breeze from the sea as we walked across the tarmac. All my mates are missing me and me them. But after knowing Diana for 13 years, It was time to make a decision .I will miss the banter and the ribbing , but unbelievable I wanted to ship my tools and all my de Walt gear. I understand from where you are coming from Mark. I like my cars/vehicles and have always spent money on them to look good, however in your case it is for trade/office, the van looks wicked, it gets my vote 😊

I always change my wheels every year to winter tires with steel rims, and then change back to alloys with summer tires in March, you always can have some people say you dont need them in the UK, but I got stuck in the snow back in 2017 when we had that beast of the east and since then always have fitted winter tires
And... don't forget that winter tyres are not just for snow... They are superior where: Temperature
Once you’ve used winter tyres you will always use them….. like night and day👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Been running BF Goodrich all-terrain tyres for years best things ever I live in the sticks so lots of mud and single lanes wouldn’t run any other tyres ever there good all year round and great in the snow
👌🏼👌🏼…. Went for BFG first but they said the clearance on my van would be an issue so went for these….. quite looking forward to using them in anger so to speak😉
@@MJTiffPlumbingI had similar issues on my Renault traffic i put some wheel spacers on and job sorted you won’t be disappointed with them
Got winter wheels and tyres for my daily car, however just hoping they are going to be worth while, as if other road users haven’t got winter tyres they could end up blocking the road so you can’t get passed! 😂

I went with some goodyear 4seasons on my vivaro, they worked pretty decent in last years snow. Interesting to hear how those all terrains do in snow if we get any that is!

Its different compounds in the make up of the tyre, they'll be m much better with the higher sidewall, you can slide into those curbs without messing up the alloys, its something done across Europe, change tyres in winter by law, no doubt it'll come here eventually 👍

That whole set of wheels and tyres was £1200 I think…. The 20’s with tyres was about £2k

They look nice, and probably expensive. Don’t think I will be needing those, where I live in Bristol, we don’t get much thick snow, and if it does ,it doesn’t last long.

Don't forget that it's "normal" when using winter tyres to use cheap steel rims... not posh, expensive alloys. (I'm guessing the UA-cam income helps here ?). Also... winter tyres or 'All Season' tyres are better in low temps and wet weather... not just snow.

If you're just an ordinary jobbing plumber that has an ordinary van and don't make UA-cam vids... you'd probably just fit 'all season' tyres and forget about it. Unless you're in the sticks or live on very high ground... when you might want some full-on winter tyres that you'd swap out at the end of March.

A bit extreme buying new wheels and tyres for the rare days there will be so much snow cars cannot drive.I assume you kept the old wheels and tyres to use for the rest of the year!! Why not have tyre chains which you can put on ordinary tyres when needed?
