This movie deserved better at the box office, but at least everyone’s realizing how much of a banger it is.
It came out at the same time as Harry Potter deathly hallows part 1 and Disney tangled
It also came out at the end of shrek 4 and the beginning of how to train your dragon. Oh and despicable me came out a couple months later

I think the gorilla suit is supposed to be a reference to "Ro-Man". It's a robot from a 50s B-movie, called "Robot Monster". The Robot costume for the movie was made out of a gorilla suit and a space helmet.

The question is: does Megamind have drip, or does Metroman? WHO WINS THE DRIP BATTLE?!
Problem is that they are hard to compare because they go the exact opposite way, metro man goes elvis and metromind goes kiss, and both wear a cape. Id say that metromind is certainly gaudier, even pointing out his own baby sealskin boots, but metroman is grand in simplocoty and nuance. The buttons and fold on his suit are reminiscent of a military uniform, the greys match beautifully with the white, and the tassles are somewhat flamboyant without going overboard. Megamind on the other hand throws subtlety out the window and gets all the coolest shit he can find, spikes, lightning bolts, studs, the works. His cape and collar are also always so expressive, he is trying to emulate punk rock along with heavy metal for intimidation despite the fact he is very goofy.
10/10 for both imo

I honestly encourage people to look up the trailer for Megamind. It's a few movie lines clipped together to introduce his character over a black screen, then its part of the power strut scene, then it just ends. The abruptness and bravado is hilarious If you caught that in theaters it was so sudden and short you couldn't help but be intrigued.
