The Xero Shoes Glenn is a leather barefoot shoe designed to be worn for both casual and formal contexts.
As someone who likes leather shoes and who currently wears handfuls of Xero Shoes, I was stoked to put the Glenn to the test. I was most interested in how this shoe's nubuck leather would perform for daily wear.
In my Xero Shoes Glenn review, I'll cover multiple topics to help you decide if this shoe is right for you.

9:55 Final Remarks
Overall, I've really enjoyed the Xero Shoes Glenn and their performance for daily wear, walking, and casual use.
I think this shoe can be a pretty good all-season model and I like that it has a removable insole with a finished internal construction which can give you a nice variety of cushion.

I'm impressed at how good looking these are. I didn't even know anything about this brand till today. good job, Jake!
They are def clean AF. Thank you, sir!
Most of their shoes look a little funky but these came out like a couple weeks ago!
I am a chiropractor and I wear these shoes to work. I love them because they look a little nicer than a lot of barefoot shoes, as well as they don't look like clown shoes.
Love hearing that!
Great review! I really appreciate how many reviews you post about barefoot shoes. Is there any chance that you’ll be reviewing the Dillon? That’s the one I’m really interested in. Thanks!
I want to! And can bump them up on my list!
Thank you for checking this one out 🤝
Wonderful video Jake, I was curious though, how does it compare to the standard Prio sizing wise? The Prios feel perfect so I usually compare all other models to it
Go same size in these!
And thank you!
You should review the Birchbury Bramfords. They're formal leather sneakers that are $120 and are super high quality. They even have a non-slip version; that's the one I bought.
I can do that! Those sound awesome
I think Splay just released their own leather version of their freestyle model! Would love to see a comparison :)
Oh snap! I’ll have to check them out
Thanks again for these videos! - is there comparable options in the market (regarding the aesthetic & intent)? I'm considering these so I have a proper aesthetic shoe that wont completely crush my wide toes.. and I'll just get half a size up.
Origio makes some great models, so does Icarus with their ascent gen 2.
Thank you!
I have the brown version and I really like them for work. Not too formal, but not too casual. They seem a little more roomy vs other Xero's I own, but they don't look like clown shoes. I got them during the 20% off, so they were a good deal.
Solid deal! Glad you’re enjoying them 🤝
Great video! What are some good socks that aren’t the toe finger style?
My faves are Motee&Zaconia on Amazon! They’re cheaper and don’t last as long, but for the money I think they’re a solid no-show option!
I'd love your videos if they were backwards, start with construction, weight, fit, and then have your pros, cons, and assesment.
While I appreciate this comment you’re the only one who has ever asked for this so that’s a no can do 😅
Hey Jake, love your reviews. Quick request for shoes that are branded as "casual" or "everyday" - can you mention how it is to drive in them? There are certain brands that sell nice light training/walking shoes but they are impossible to drive in, so you need another pair anyway.
Hey, I can start considering that! Can you expand a little more on that, though? What particularly are you interested in regarding driving?
@@thatfitfriend just if they're comfortable/safe for a short drive to the gym or work. Hokas for example are impossible to drive in because you can't feel the pedal
@@CommandantNOVA got you! Now I understand what you’re after. Thank you!
I have these shoes and they work perfectly fine for driving. I have not really noticed any major difference to my regular cushioned shoes in this regard.
I absolutely love the ways the look but they didn’t fit my feet. I sized up and they still didn’t have enough room for me. I was so bummed
Check out the Icarus, they have a similar vibe!
Hey man great video as always. I need help with sizing for a friend. He wears a snug size EU 41 on the HFS with not much room in the front but he's ok with it.
I will now order some Glenns for him as a gift. Since the HFS supposedly runs small, the Glenn in the same size should be perfect for him. His feet are not very wide but I'm afraid of the leather upper being more restrictive than the mesh on the HFS.
Should I get the Glenn in the same size as his HFS or should I get it half a size up?
Thanks!
I feel like same size is a safe call, honestly! Keep me posted!
@@thatfitfriend Thanks for the reply! Will do.
As someone who has narrow feet and loves nubuck, these seem perfect for me who has been considering more grounded shoes. $130 seems a little steep but idk, I’ve never bought barefoot shoes so it’s kind of strange to pay so much for what’s essentially less shoe lol.
I feel that! I always think the same when dropping $150 USD on models from Vivobarefoot and other companies, LOL. Maybe I'm just numb to it...
They're great, though, and should last you a bit if you rotate them in with other models. But if you can find them on sale...that would be the move!
The reason they’re more expensive is the same reason iPhones are so expensive. Sort of.
It’s a simple matter of supply and demand. For the iPhone, people who already own one likely know they last a while if taken care of. Apple knows this too, so they increase the price to counter-balance the lack of immediate repeat customers.
Don’t confuse that as an excuse for the “Apple tax.” That is real, and the price is artificially increased more than necessary.
In the case of minimalist shoes, there just isn’t that big of a market. Sure, there are plenty of shoe enthusiasts and runners interested, but they are in the minority of consumers.
Most are just buying shoes for work, and it takes a special kind of masochistic idiot to go to work in something with no padding. Especially if you’re expected to stand and walk a lot, like in a hospital, retail or restaurant.
You get used to it, yeah. And the foot health benefits are tangible.
Anyway, most people aren’t buying barefoot shoes, so companies like Xero have to increase prices to stay afloat.
@@sauldickson4079 the mistake many companies make is raising the prices as if their product has a higher demand than it actually does when their strategy should be to lower prices to beat out their competitors. That’s especially how you get ahead in a growing market. What your saying makes sense but the other side is that every unnecessary dollar added to the price = tons of potential customers lost probably to a more affordable brand. Again what people are paying for when buying minimalist shoes is less shoe. This means there isn’t exactly a lot of room for technological innovation of the product so of course people are going to go for the more affordable shoe because that’s just what makes sense. And because it’s a growing market, a considerable portion of customers are going to be new customers who want to dip their toes into these shoes to see what the fuss is all about and the large majority of those new customers won’t want throw their whole wallet at something they know they may not like or return for.
Have you compared these to the Lems Kourt or Feelgrounds Original Leather?
Feelgrounds, yes. I like the Xero Shoes durability of the sole better. I haven't compared them to the Lems model, though!
Hey dude. Im a UK size 10 with quite a narrow foot. However they only have it in 9.5 or 10.5
Do you have any opinion on which may fit better?
I hope 9.5 will fit, I know barefoot shoes tend to be spacious.
All the best
9.5 would be first suggestion before going up. Swimming in a leather shoe doesn't sound the best and could cause some friction on the heel! Keep me posted
How would it work for a B narrow foot?
They might work, especially if you rock them with thicker socks!
@@thatfitfriend True, but I prefer no socks.
@@markhalstead2386 want to shoot me a message on IG and I can send you a video of the insole and it’s measurements later? That way you can cross reference with your foot to see!
@@thatfitfriend Sure
I wish there is a white version of this shoes.
Maybe in the future 🤔🤔
Do you think they could take a polish?
Ehhh, I'm nervous that could mess up the upper. Don't feel confident saying they'd be fine
@@thatfitfriend
Yeah I sure you're right. Too bad they don't make a smooth leather version.
@@MyGoogleUA-cam Feelgrounds has a smooth leather option!
@@thatfitfriend
I'll check it out. I was also looking at the Gobi III from vivo.
@@MyGoogleUA-cam another option friends have said good stuff about. I haven’t tried that one yet
