    Thank you for the video! I was living in Stratford for a few months in 2012 to write my diploma thesis about the impacts of the Olympic Games on the local retailers. Since then I did not follow up the developments in the area. Your video is quite informative to also focus on the social development over the last years. Looking forward to visit Stratford at some point again. Best regards from Germany!

    Thank you for showing us your "hood". I honestly thought that there wasn't many blacks in the UK. I actually did some research and found out that most blacks there in the UK are from Africa and the Caribbean. So this place you show, where you grew up is a diverse community of people from different races. So you went to school with other kids of different races. In the US, it varies on the area. Some places are predominantly black.

I lived in Upton park with my mixed asian girlfriend there were several nightclubs in Newham Sensations, Upper cut club playing Funk Soul n Disco best dayz back then, todays youth dont go clubs and dance to music how we did, We looked good to and went and bought smart designer clothes in local mens stores none of this all black clothing, we also mixed more back then black, white and asian in local clubs. There was very little knife crime back then, we were to busy dancing and chatting to girls.

    Why is that African - Carribean descendants are defined as "Black" ???.
    Black is s just a colour and not a continental or a nation ???
    People of the sub-Continent i.e Pakistan, India, Bangladesh are refered to Asians.
    This does not make sense so why aren't they define as Africans descent but not black.

    • @mujaahidbin-zahid2406
      @mujaahidbin-zahid2406 2 роки тому +3

      Because Africans and Carribeans if you want to describe them under one umbrella the only way you can do that is by defining as black.
      If you call a Carribean an African they won't accept that definition for themselves.
      However Pakistanis,Indians and Bengalis are all from asia. All were one country about 75 years ago. So they all accept the definition of Asian.

    • @realitytube6290
      @realitytube6290 2 роки тому +7

      @@mujaahidbin-zahid2406
      Caribbeans are also from Africa originally they know this it's only a few of the ignorant that disregard it.
      Even they do not accept it so why aren't they defined under Caribbean rather than black because Europeans do not come under White neither do people of Asia do not come under Black or Brown.
      But Asia is not just Pakistan, India, or Bangladesh it's a huge continent.

    • @mujaahidbin-zahid2406
      @mujaahidbin-zahid2406 2 роки тому +2

      @@realitytube6290 The reason people dont say Carribean or African and stick with black could be because they dont know if the person they are reffering to is definitely African or Carribean all the time.
      Europeans arent always described as Europeans sometimes people say white for them also.
      About the asian thing yes Asia is a big continent and you will find that when u say Asian in USA people will instantly think of Eastern Asians like Chinese,Japanese,Korean etc etc
      However when you say Asian in the UK people will instantly think South Asian, Indian, Pakistani,Bengali etc etc
      This is because in the USA there are more Eastern Asians and in the UK there are more South Asians.

    • @realitytube6290
      @realitytube6290 2 роки тому +2

      @@mujaahidbin-zahid2406
      But it does not make sense when you travel to Africa people refer themselves as African or by the country of their origin or a tribe not by colour as this terms came with colonialism and the system labelling humans as if they were a product.
      It needs to be addressed so why Asians are not being called Black or Brown??? Also people of African descendants are not all quote and quote black as some are brown as well even lighter complexion.

    • @downs9724
      @downs9724 2 роки тому

      The UK is heavily influence by the USA especially those of Caribbean and African descent in regards to African Americans. So the whole ''black identity'' is pretty much a thing here like how it is in the USA to the point we have subcultures of people made up of both African and Caribbean descent mimicking African American subcultures than their own ancestral ones. The most famous right now being drill and BLM type nonsense.

    I love when people say "youngsters dealing drugs is the problem" No we need to look at the ROOT.
    How are drugs and guns coming into the country?
    Why do these Children feel the need to sell drugs?
    How can we prevent it from happening?
    Why Is it that a kid who is not gang affiliated feels the need to carry a knife?
    I also agree that parents can do better to guide their children, although with that being said, even innocent children are being stabbed to death. So the key word here is POVERTY. Rich kids aint stabbing each other or selling drugs.
    We need to stop pointing our fingers at particular ethnic backgrounds and actually get to the bottom of this shit.

    Just watched your documentary about Newham that showed you youngsters know shit about Newham. I lived off Green street and Barking road most of my nearly 60 years and none of that racist fuckery about West Ham fans hardly ever happened. Well once in the 80s and once in the 90s both with Millwall. I’m a black man and none of my friends or family never had problems with fans on match days as much as I hate West Ham , being an Arsenal supporter. You should have interviewed proper grown-ups instead of saggy-batty 18 year old road men/ boy soldiers who just got here from Somaliopia and talk to real Newham people like Whites, Caribbean’s and Asians. I’m so glad to be successful enough to be out of Newham if all the young people there only know grime artists and road men. A Cut Above The Rest ✂️ PEACE

    Good job bruv! Newham council is full of corruption and lack of accountability. The children's lives are messed up from School, Newham failed in their educational system; funds are limited, lack of adequate support for children with additional needs, expecially ADHDs. They diagnose children from other races promptly and support them on time, whilst they neglect and profile black children, tagging them as disruptive and challenging behaviour. There is no such thing as challenging behaviour, but they chose this language so they can neglect these children, these children get worse, finding it difficult to stay in school. If the School fails them, they find solace on the street - in gangs. Newham need to invest in their schools and stop racially profiling black children, recruit outstanding teachers and train your old teachers if and when necessary. Stop profiling black children in Schools - educate your teachers.
