Thanks for sharing your hobby journey. I suffer from a degenerative condition of the spine that has left me with severe spinal stenosis (compression of the spinal cord) and severe chronic pain. I love the tabletop hobby but find it difficult to paint minis or do fine detail work because my hands constantly shake. Even when my hand is fully supported I still find it difficult. I'm trying to learn how to airbrush as it's a bit more forgiving. I can mask areas I don't want to paint (with the help of my spouse) and the finish is really nice. I applaud you for pushing on with your condition. Quite a few would wallow in your situation. It's great to show people that degenerative conditions like MS aren't the end of a productive life. You can thrive instead of just survive.

Yes new year ne…old army! Just started (finally) building my Bretonnian army for warhammer fantasy 💪🏻 Its soon(ish) build then I can focus on painting it!
Spectacular and the fact you call these low effort makes me feel a little bit an awe. I think the bright, colourful bases look great and are actually very practical. On a game board those easy to distinguish differences will make it easier keeping track of which model is which.
The only thing it's missing is a little resin water hole in one of them with a tiny little Hector chilling in it as homage to the effort he went to getting them for you!
Both ENTertaining and ENTeresting!
I can't blame Health and Safety frog for pilfering some chocolate Hobnobs, though.

Gotta love some old SG-1! My older brother got me into it, lending me his DVDs after one of my spinal surgeries around 2004, as I was stuck in a recliner for a few months healing up. I got totally hooked on it, I got my (now ex-) wife hooked on it, and I eventually bought the first six or seven seasons on DVD. It was such an enjoyable watch!

The model for the shag bark tree (while sounding pretty funny in Great Britain) is pretty specific. I don’t think that you have them there, but over here in the States, we have a tree variety called the Shag Bark Hickory, so I’m guessing it’s what that one is. It’s a rather cool looking tree, as the bark appears to be, well, shaggy, pretty unsurprisingly. Like someone tried to pull off thin strips of the bark from the bottom, but doesn’t tear it off at the top, resulting in kind of a rough “roof shingle” look of overlapping layers. Anyway, trivia section over- really enjoyed the video. Thanks, and have a great weekend!

I don't like thinking about what I need for a new army anymore, I need to actually get more of my old stuff together my poor Dark Angels are sitting in a corner with the paint stripped and ready to redone I really need to get them done sometime soon.
Take the pressure off yourself, you don’t need to get em done, they ain’t going nowhere. Think if I pressured myself in that basement I’d be more of a nervous wreck! Haha

Woodland Scenics does have 2 fall foliage "mesh" products: early fall mix and late fall mix. I've used them and they look great. But your build looks fantastic in a summer scheme and probably sells as Ents better than with an autumn scheme, although it begs the question of what Ents actually look like in the fall.

Lovely job. I don't think the bases came out as "too much" at all - the extra details and clutter and mushrooms and shit works precisely because the models themself are so simple - the base ends up complementing the model rather than competing with it.
Agreed! I think at the end they look just right with the trim and finish. Might slap a satin or Matt varnish on the unify it all but that absolutely only if I can be bothered!

I shop at Wayland Games pretty much exclusively as its hard for me to get out of the house.
They have so much stuff, I don't know where to begin! I end up down a rabbit-hole and buy stuff I probably don't need 😄 (I'll find a use for it, I'm sure).
I'm doing the New Year, New Army thing too, except I'm going with Grey Knights, I've got about 2500pts to put together and paint, and I'm a notoriously slow painter, so it may take me 2 years!
